What was the real reason why Thalia put jason in Lazaru's pit? In Lost days it was by Bruce, but in new 52 it's because Jason is "special." What is the special thing you see in Jason? That thalia had a plan for him, what plan? Is the savior of the world? Hahaha.

It was the basic premise of the first couple arcs of Red Hood and The Outlaws. Jason carries on as the sole survivor of the All-Caste, the only ones capable of fighting off and defeating The Untitled before they can destroy/take over the World.

@mikesterling: Post-Flashpoint Jason Todd has been a self-insert character. That's the only reason. He's "special" because writers like Scott Lobdell and James Tynion need him to be.
