http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wonder-Woman-Green-Lantern-Flash-Getting-Movies-43432.html

Apparently it's actually happening. It looks like DC's series will go beyond the MoS/BvS/JL trilogy, with Wonder Woman and Shazam getting their own films, and a Green Lantern/Flash team up film. Of course nothing has officially been announced yet, so take this with a grain of salt.

So what does everyone think about this? I have mixed feelings personally, I'm glad to see the others getting their own films, although I wouldn't be too impressed if The Rock does end up being in Shazam...

Dude isnt the DC Cinematic universe.

Its the Snyderverse.

Also DC has said it would keep their characters apart.

Magic type will live in one universe and Superheroes in another universe.

So isnt DC Cinematic universe.

@deathpoolthet1000: When did they say that?

Guillermo Del Toro say it when he talked about this when he got ask about JLD.

In July 2014, del Toro once again stated he was working on the film, and stated it would be independent from the universe established with Man of Steel, saying, "DC and Warners have been very clear that they are trying to keep [this film and Sandman] separate so when the time comes they can unite them, once they know they’re quantifiable." He also added that his Constantine would not adhere to any continuity established in the television series and think about using Matt Ryan from Constantine to portray Constantine in the film.

DC should really notice how much its losing by doing this, but they have high hopes in Snyder becoming the next Nolan or Joss Whedon.

@deathpoolthet1000: Well given that he said there are plans to unite them then that would mean that they actually do take place in the same universe. What I think is more likely to happen is that in the Sandman movie which will probably come out first there will be nothing to say it's connected, but also nothing to say it's separate either. After that they'll decide if they're even going to really do the JLD movie which despite what Del Toro says probably would be what connects the two.

Really if WB/DC is smart they will avoid Marvel mistake and instead embrace all the magical aspects of their IPs. Even bring in Zatanna as a founding member of the Justice League so they can use her to spin off the JLD movie. I guess we'll never know till they actually come out with the movies though.

@muffin_sangria: They can, not they will.

Also Marvel plans Dr. Strange, DC plans are only Superhero movies.

Besides it has being pointed that Sandman and other DC movies will happen outside their cinematic universe, besides the fact their tv shows are another universe.

WB isnt going to be like Marvel and have their universe put all together in one, it looks DC has stronger problems to keep everything together.

There's no DC Cinematic Universe because JLD and Sandman are separate? By that logic, Marvel doesn't have a cinematic universe because Spider-Man and X-Men are separate. They don't need to include EVERYONE for it to be a DCCU, they just need multiple films which connect, which they're doing.

As for the Snyderverse thing, Zack Snyder isn't directing ALL of them, he couldn't even if he wanted to, there are too many. The release dates show that there will be multiple DC films each year, no way could Snyder direct two films every year. The only films he's been confirmed to direct are BvS and Justice League.

So even if they keep JLD and Sandman separate, there still IS a DC Cinematic Universe.

@minisaladfresh: Its directing Mos trilogy, Batman v Superman and the JL one.

Besides the fact they will have to work with the rules he set up in Man of Steel and his movies and with the characters as he design them.

You will have to get Gadot as Wonder Woman, even if you dont like her, you will have to design the character on her design and you cant do your own vision of the character, because that wouldnt made sense.

Snyder will design JL members and the universe, this hurt the chances of people being original or try to do thing in another line.

Its like Nolanverse, but bigger.

@deathpoolthet1000: Right... but what does any of that have to do with what you said about there being no DCCU?

The fact this is going to have to follow Snyder in everything and the fact DC is only making a Superhero universe.

DC isnt only the Superheroes.

Isnt a complete universe, since it let out many of the other DC things.

Marvel has magic in his universe and their wacky sci fi like Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now you can make Tony Stark team up with Strange, techno magic or the division of magic and science, you can explore a bunch of thing only with those two working together.

Even without X Men and Spiderman, they have most of the aspect of their universe, not only one genre and one type of movies.

Its the reason why Sonyverse its a terrible idea, but a Deadpool movie is a great idea.

It makes things bigger and let you more to explore.

DC would has less to explore, only it would work if they explain its a cinematic multiverse.

There is no universe if BvS bombs, which I don't think it will do.

@deathpoolthet1000: Shazam got his powers from a wizard, so there will be magic in the DCCU. And let's not forget that Green Lantern is like the ultimate cosmic superhero, so there's likely to be some space stuff with weird aliens. As well as Batman's whole dark detective stuff and Wonder Woman's connections to the Greek Gods and mythology, so even without Sandman and JLD, DC still has as much different stuff to explore as Marvel.

I think the DCCU can still be great; maybe not as successful as Marvel's but still good.

The DCCU will be great just wait its one of those things that people are going to dout but will still watch it anyways and will be glad to see because its going to be raw just wait if BvS is a great movie imo it will already catch up to the MCU and will have more successful franchises especially with unique and lesser known heroes like Shazam Martian Manhunter Booster Gold etc. and the female heroine we all want to see in Wonder Woman I love this just wait dc movies are going to be huge in the years to come

But its only going to be Superheroes, also remember that Marvel explain in Thor their magic is some type of super advanced technology and they arent gods actually, but some type of alien beings people saw as gods.

This to make their universe more cohesive, people wait to DC to be too much like the comics, even when MOS point this isnt the case.

Besides that Joss Whedon point the fact DC has the problem isnt as cohesive as Marvel and for the same they need to change several things.

Pussyfooting around the subject of magic is the worst thing that Marvel has done. Every time they're like "no it's not magic, it's science" it's just so cringe worthy. If DC just embraces the magic side of their universe then that gives them the heads up.
