Images of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle for 'Daredevil' Surface

When Jon Bernthal was announced, back in June, he would be playing Frank Castle on season two of Daredevil, on Netflix, fan reaction was extremely positive. Now, with filming of the second season happening in New York City, the first images were released of Bernthal not in full Punisher mode, but as Frank Castle, in a fight in the middle of the street, as reported by JustJared.

Frank Castle already looks pretty beaten up as he takes on this guy. There's tons of shots from the filming of the scene. Check them out and let us know what you think.

Of course he has a lohawk. They have to be in New York. That would explain why the bystanders aren't giving a sht about two guys having a fight over a gun in a kid's place.

He was amazing as Shane in the walking dead and he's perfect for a role like The Punisher. He's gonna be great.

It's pretty clear the two actors (at least, in several of the pictures) are practicing and going through the motions of the scene. Hence why the extras are texting.

Hopefully we'll see the skull in later episodes but Bernthal is already a good choice as Castle...Wish we had some pics of Elodie as Elektra soon.

I'm sure they do something similar to DD season 1, where we build up to the skull. Probably not as slowly, but I'm sure we'll have to wait to see it. heh

Pre-Punisher Castle, in a kid friendly location, unarmed, angry and fighting an armed man... Could this be the moment when his family is killed?

There isn't a doubt in my mind that we're going to get the skull. He's probably just in a flashback, undercover/in disguise, or both.

I thought he was gonna be great as the Punisher, but seeing him here like this is making me think "wow, I really underestimated how great he's gonna look as The Punisher."

Marvel are bringing the heat to the TV sphere. DC have been doing so well too!! Ultimate winners, us the viewers. Hopefully they can keep the quality of Daredevil running through to all their shows!

Jon looks like a beast. I'm really interested in how they'll have DD fight Frank. Both are skilled, but Frank looks more like a bruiser when compared to Matt. Either ways, can't wait for season two.

As for the costume, Matt never dawned his full suit until the end of the season, so I'm assuming we'll be exploring Frank's origin on how he becomes the Punisher. He'll probably eventually wear the full get up with the Skull and everything. Besides, the pictures above could represent a flashback for all we know.
