As you may know, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang's run on WONDER WOMAN is coming to an end. In November, Meredith and David Finch take over the series. DC has unveiled a first look at the interior pages.
WONDER WOMAN #36 is on sale in November.

The art looks promising to say the least
Whoa...Wonder Woman fighting Swamp Thing. That's pretty cool. But it's clear this is going to be quite a departure from the current tone.
She looks to young and so skinny compared to the previous run. Shes a warrior damn it.
Lets wait for the person to do colors and shadows. They can make her look older and stronger.
Also She kicked The Avatar of The Green in the Face thats something a person with some serious moxie would do
if DC is willing to give Azz's run the animated or cinematic film treatment, it rightfully deserves it.
Azz's run will go down in history.
As one of the most controversial, civil war inducing runs ever in the history of the industry. But yeah, it will. (Note: I'm not a hater)
Art looks like old Finch back when he was doing Moon Knight. Not really a fan that it looks like this book will have Wonder Woman middle of the DCU because to me that means it will cross over a lot.
I'm willing to give it a shot but Azz's run has just been so damn good and it worries me having a master writer level and a rookie come in.
Worst case senerio
1. This becomes a side superman book
2. She has at least one team up every other story arc
3. All story arcs before hand mean nothing to the current writer
Pleas let this be something tasteful, interesting, and azzarello-ish
the haters be mad, while im sitting here high on olympus laughing my ass off, this is some badass shit!
@akindoodle: dude i agree with you 100% my god the hate thread that devlope because of this team
While it sucks that Azzerallo's run is ending, David Finch's art is spectacular and I can't wait to read this book.
As a big mythology fan, NORSE but also Greek and Egyptian, I tried to read Wonder Woman and Trinity of Sin in the new 52, but for me Greek mythology doesn't work in the grounded Dc comics Universe.
This also could be a problem to the cinematic universe, Zack Snyder and a new director in future solo film will have to be very careful how to merge this iconic character, into the future DC CU, that judging by Man of Steel is more realistic than MCU.
This is so sad. Cliff Chiang is one of the best talents in comic books these days, and this art cannot even come close. That first image pose is screaming to be a part of the Hawkeye Initiative.
Hopefully the amazing themes and world built by Azzarello won't be thrown by the wayside. Of all the New 52 series I read, Wonder Woman has been the most artful and inspired.
Amazons are immortal. That's why, even in Cliff's depiction, even Hippolyta looks, at best, like she's about 30.

chiang's work is under detailed under rendered overhyped garbage that has SOME good faces.
and no it looks nothing of the kind, she looks like she is slightly hunched to block arrows and to swing her sword out, its nothing remotely close to a back broke pose.
STFU!
you clearly haven't looked at jh williams on batwoman if that boring simplistic crap is the most artful thing youv seen.
pathetic.
@movieartman: I certainly respect a difference of opinion, what with art being subjective and all. While I consider JH Williams a talented artist, I do not think the majority of his art is pushing the limits of typical house style as much as someone like Cliff Chiang. As a graphic designer, I think minimalism is the key to good art, and the less lines and bolder choices you can make to get your point across the better. This, as well as the wonderfully vivid color job, character designs, and innovative visual elements is why I think Cliff Chiang is a phenomenal talent. To me, Finch's art, while also incredibly competent, is another progression of mainstream comic book style. Which isn't bad, of course! Wonder Woman isn't the only DC title I buy, not buy a long shot. However, any time something innovative and different is replaced with more of the same, I find it a little disheartening.
And I'm sorry, but that pose and distant, soft, vaguely pouty look on her face does not look like someone in the heat of battle.
@movieartman: so much unnecessary anger and RAGE!!!
@movieartman: dude, I don't hate this art, but how can you not see that that pose is absolutely ridiculous? And calm down, while you're at it

how in the bloody hell does this not push the limits of mainstream comic art, other than marco rudy, i know of NO current artist that is doing anything on this level of detail and rendered in combination with such brillaint panel work
there is nothing innovative about chiangs art, his panel work and covers are standard and plain, his characters are yes, minimalistic but go back before the 80s and all comic art was like that cus artist didn't have the time or the capablity to add texture and depth to there work. THATS A FLAW!
Love the art work, Wonder Woman looks more stunning than ever but I will definitely miss Azzarello's writing style.
I'm so sad that the current run is coming to end. It's been consistently the best thing that DC has been putting out since the new 52 started I think.
Yeah, it's the only DC title i read consistently.
