Wow I love that concept art/cover art at the bottom. Really creative and pretty.

As for the comics, I have yet to buy them.

SOHH Punisher (for instance) is just a regular guy who has gone up against al ins of superhumans including freaking Sentry (and Wolvie) and lived just fine but Wolverine loses his healing factor and suddenly he's as fragile as an egg. Makes Wolvie seem like kind of a wimp. Hawkeye is still running around fer Chrissakes.

@edblank: you obviously aren't reading the comics then. They are actually making him rely on his fighting skills and not his mutant powers. And if you take away punisher's / hawkeye's long range attacks and put them up against the guys wolverine fights hand to hand i don't think they would last so long. You should check it out, the comics they are pretty fun so far!

You know what I just realized that kind of scares me? The last time Marvel used the title "The Death of ___" it was "The Death of Captain Marvel" and he never came back... maybe this really is the end for Wolverine.

You know I used to not like Steve McNiven's art once a upon a time. His work on Civil War was ok. But I couldn't stand Old Man Logan. Maybe due to the fact it was a what if fan fic story. And Mark Millar fan fic at that :/ But this looks beautiful. I can't wait to pick this up when it's collected in hardback.

Very true. First time in a long time I say he's back to form. Wolverine is absolute beast in this series. Beating the bajeezus out of folks with his bare hands. And outsmarting them all to boot.

Dude sits himself on an island with an open invitation to all assassins to come and get him. Next panel opens to said island literally littered with corpses of spec. ops, ninjas, mercenaries - you name it - and Wolverine sitting, waiting for more hapless schmucks.

Though I definitely get what @edblank was saying. And it makes perfect sense while Wolverine was penned under Cornell. But under the current creative team, it no longer bothers.

That, and Hawkeye hasn't pissed off as many baddies on such a large scale as Logan has (the whole criminal empire of an entire city has been decimated time and again by Logan), and hasn't made himself nearly as big a threat (because he isn't one). As for Frank, he works covertly for just that reason, and mostly keeps to himself. He's not a public figure like Logan is. His shield lies in the fact he lives a covert life and lives in the shadows.

Good read. Highly recommend it thus far.

I'm waiting to see how all four issues pan out and then perhaps I'll get it. But one thing is true, that last cover is absolutely gorgeous!

@edblank: the punisher got beat down by the sentry and only survived because he ran away.

In issue 1 and 2 two he used nothing but martial arts and didn't pop his claws at all... And there is nothing in these images that would imply he's going to pop them in 3.

@teerack: wow may have to read this if that is the case.

I prefer the idea of a smarter fighter not a hack and slash.

He lived a long time and has learned so much you would think he would keep the claws as his ace in the hole.

I will say the art work is awesome.

The art is lovely but as for the story...it does not really grab me. In fact I am not too keen on it. Everything that makes him Wolverine is absent, even resisting using his claws. As such it is to me like reading a comic about Clark Kent...with no Superman. I am hopeful it will change. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, you really need to try this book out. It would be a shame to miss out on a book that is just out of this world good.

The art reminds me why I love comics so much. At the very least, the art in this issue impresses.
