First Look: DARK AVENGERS #175

So far the Dark Avengers are 0-2. Under Norman Osborn's leadership, they came close to being seen as a legitimate superhero team based on the fact that the members resembled actual heroes. Osborn has just been too focused on revenge and world domination that his plans seem to always fall apart. Now there are a bunch of heroes resembling members of the Avengers locked up in custody so what can be done with them?

Turn them into actual heroes, of course. Following the thinking behind the Thunderbolts, it appears the villains will actually continue to serve as Dark Avengers only this time under more stable leadership. Marvel has released a first look for the series that will be pushing THUNDERBOLTS out of the spotlight for now.

Looks like songbirds sticking around

Thunderbolts was my favorite Marvel book and I was one who really enjoyed the Dark Avengers related books. I'm actually very excited for this to start up (as long as my thunderbolts come back).

Dark Avengers can go the hell

So what happens to Songbird, Moonstone etc.? I can't see a chimera spider god being any sort of Avenger, and isn't the idea of reforming used a little too often nowadays?

I still don't get why they didn't just keep it as Thunderbolts....it's the same thing. -.-

Still, I am not too bothered by it, I do want to know what happens to Moonstone and company though, I like Moonstone a lot.

in thunderbolts the core team (minus songbird and cage) were shot through time and at this moment are somewhere near the beginning of zemo/citezen v's thunderbolts. so as far as everyone is concerned they are gone. Moonstone, troll, mach, hyde, centurius etc.) that's why cage is with this team.

what happened to songbird's hair? still, cool indeed!

I'm not a fan of the Dark Avengers (exception being the roster during Dark Reign) but I really like Luke Cage's Thunderbolts so I'll check this out.

@eiderglast: Thunderbolts 171. She got brain surgery from a supervillain and most of her hair was shaved off.

But yeah, SONGBIRD IS STILL IN THE BOOK! I hope new readers like her just as much as normal T-bolts fans.

I'm not sayin if,but when Thor finds about about Ragnarok functioning again theres gonna be hell to pay!

BTW, the time traveling Thunderbolts are still part of the book, so Don't fret. Only the Thunderbolt that died is not in this book.

Argh. I loved Osborne's Dark Avengers, and including new members in the T-Bolts is fine, but do we really need to change the name?

I really liked the Dark Avengers when they first appeared with the first roster but now..it's gettin' kinda tedious.

Actually, there are people who are excited to read this who never read T-bolts. Granted, it bothers me, but hey, at least they got into the T-bolts Legacy.

So take away a unique super hero team with diverse power sets and tour them into just another Avengers team.....complete with Super villain rip offs.....

There are people who liked the Avengers/New Avengers arc enough to pick this up. I seen them. Still, if it creates more Thunderbolts and Songbird fans, why not invite them?
