90s was the age pouches and spikes. Now is the age of lines.

Those costumes are terrible.
Hate the white eyes on barry. Doesnt suit him.
Zooms costume might grow on me... but flash will definitely not.

@sonofodin25: The Tv show copied the comics. Him trying to get his dad out of jail has been one of the plot points of his New 52 run.

His new costume (flash) is interesting, I like it, but I do hope this isn't a long term one. The gold is practically overshadowed from the Red and it makes him look really serious...

This looks terrible. I have every single Flash comic all the way from 1968 to 2014. But I just can't take this crap. First time I'm not picking up any Flash comics. Thanks Vendittie, Van Jensen and Booth.

Although I like how Eobard's back, the more I look at Flash's new look the more I dislike it. I understand they're trying to bring it closer to the show, as it's more profitable, but it doesn't look good. This volume of Flash could end up just being a rehash of the first series of the current CW show, minus all the introductions. Pity because I loved the art and feel of the first few New 52 Flash volumes.

I agree with the white eyes but aside that I don't mind the new costume. Besides white eyes on a Flash was always Wally's thing.

I'm super excited for this, though I do miss Manapul and Buccelatto

This is so good. I love how they abandoned the plot of Captain Frye and Henry to replace it with the TV Show exact plot, that worked so well for Green Arrow ./S ¬¬

@Lone_Wolf_and_Cub:??????? Flash is one of the better books on going, but I agree Lone Wolf sucks and collects dust for years whenever I go to my comic book store ;) Flash is much better.

@mattydavehalpeo: You think that's Thawne and not Zolomon? Either way he must be insanely fast if he's making Barry look slow lol. I like the art too, not sure what people are griping about. Seems CV needs to ship out the tampons for some people lol.

Put it this way, I'm next to certain it's Thawne, but if it isn't, it'll basically play the character of Thawne in the old comics or the Thawne/Zolomon composite character of the TV series.

I was curious about that? did they just adapt that from the tv show? Was that ever the case in the comics?

I'm checking this out for sure. 2 things. 1. Barry's reaction to the mouse. 2. The look on Barry's face on the last panel. At first I thought it looked odd but rereading the panel I think it makes sense why Barry looks like that.

@fallingcliffs: You also think Mortal Kombat is one of the best comics on the shelves. So your opinion to me has 0 credibility. I've taken $hits that look better than the art in Flash. Since you are so easily impressed by $hit how about I sell you mine? ;)

These comments are ridiculous. Since issue #1, Barry has always been trying to get his dad out of prison. And so you want it to be completely different from the show? I agree that the writing isn't special, but personally, the art is amazing! Booth's art may be polarizing, but I find it unique and exciting.

@lordraiden: I believe the story about Barry's mom was first introduced around 2008 after Barry came back to life in Final Crisis and that story was the catalyst that lead to Flashpoint and the New 52, after that it was the status quo in the New 52 Flash comics and it was also adapted into the TV show.

I don't love the new costume but it certainly isn't the worst thing I've ever seen (it is the worst of the 7 Justice League redesigns though), but I just cannot forgive this art the human proportions are strange and the facial expressions feel over exaggerated. That's a good word for this art style over exaggerated there is definitely the potential to create something good here but its just not quite there yet, at least for my taste clearly there is a debate here.

Nah, because as an actual artist myself I already know you're not one or if so a bad one or you'd be drawing comics instead of trolling a message board. Yawn. I'll gladly take flash or mks art over whatever you have any day.

i dont like the lines on barry connecting to his chest emblem its unnecessary. the art is not bad, reminisce of the 90's. so should i just skip this jumping on point since ive already seen the first season of The Flash?

Don't like Vanditti or Booth at all. Will continue to read it, but I'm not excited.

Don't get why they let Vanditti introduce both Wally and Thawne. After all the backlash from Wally they really should have saved him for a better writer.
