Hey, this reminds me, I've got to remember to pick up issue #5 when Javier Rodriguez is drawing this.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

Speaking of the art change, do we know if that's permanent? That would be nice.

The problem with Greg Land art is that it looks like a collage of photos, so the actual panel tells you nothing about what the hell is going on.

I can get over pornfaces, but seriously, other than everyone striking a pose in every panel, I am so freaking lost as to what is happening

I really can't get on board with the art... but I am loving the idea of Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Girl/Araña and Silk being their own team.

They honestly should have made these 4 Spider-Verse issues into a mini-series (like Scarlet Spiders. Call it Spider Squad or something), and made the next issue (#5) into the actual #1. I mean, considering that's when the real direction of this book (the new costume, the street-level focus, the new and better artist) takes effect, it really would have made more sense that way.

@sparty_dbq: Why hype a limited book and then another book, though, with the end of this Marvel Universe so near?

The image of this team-up of Spider-women makes me wish we could see all four of them on film.

I on the other hand love Greg land art, although I gotta say that those legs look pretty skinny, wish those comic book ladies were a little bit more filled out, a la Cho, but with Greg's art style. I mean thigh gap galore, its a little too much thigh gap!

@neghead: I dunno. Why debut new Silk and Howard the Duck series so close to the end of the Marvel U?

I have not followed Greg Land's art, but I've heard Tony and Mat discuss on the podcast how much they don't like it, or that it's really bad.

Honestly, I don't see the problem here. It looks fine to me.

@kervan21: Actually I LOVE Greg Land's art. Like every single artist out there's he's an acquired taste. I wouldn't argue the fact that a lot of the female faces he does seem to look the same, but I don't mind that when they are done so good. His work on X-Men was fantastic, and what was even better was when he was drawing Ultimate FF on Mark Millars run. The birth of the Marvel Zombies world. Very Very creepy stuff. Who ever had coloring his work was silly good because it gave it a photographic style that I fell in love with. Greg Land is great.

Jessica Drew has a boyfriend (or whoever that guy she wakes up with is)? Didn't All New Ultimates establish that she's a lesbian because she carries the sexual preferences of Peter Parker?

You have a lot of stuff mixed up. The one who is dressed as a pirate and woke up with the guy, is the Jessica Drew of Loomworld (001). The one who showed up on the boat in the red and yellow costume, is the main one we all know and who the series is about (616). The one you're talking about in All-New Ultimates is the one that is a clone of (Ultimate) Peter Parker and is from another universe (1610, The Ultimate Universe).

Lets not forget Jay Leisten who has done a great job as inker. I understand some of the criticisms, but at the end of the day I don't mind Greg Land's artwork. Better than some other artists.

@sparty_dbq: Well, the Howard comic is the result of his cameo [SPOILER!] post-credits in Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Silk thing is unfortunate, but hey, DC was still offering new characters right before the New 52 launch. My question is less about there being new comics and more why Marvel should invest in two marketing campaigns when there is a very firm deadline for their metaplot in sight.

Hey! I wonder if Gene Belcher taught Jessica Drew how to pop it and lock it.

I am in such a quandry. I've been picking up this title from the beginning, but I haven't read a single issue. Why? Land. I intend to read it, but I am worried the story won't make up for it and I'll be doubly disappointed. No one has mentioned if the story is good or not. Is it?

Well yeah, that's a given. But saying every artist is an acquired taste kinda says that you don't really like any given artist until you've exposed yourself to them long enough.

@armiv2: not really. Every artist is an acquired taste. There are some artists out there with huge popularity, but some people just don't like. then there some that less known that others just think think are as good or as talented as anyone else. it's art. You have to have taste for it. each has their own liking. acquired taste.
