I love this series. It's so cool. Don't have any interest in the game but the book is a solid read.

Writing doesn't seem too strong. Although it's not fair to judge a whole series on 1 arc never mind 1 little preview. Some of the designs of the characters turned me off as well. I like the chance to visit alternate Earths though. Still a cool concept.
