I seriously love this art. Not sure about the direction for Bucky but the acid trip art is enough to make me want to read this series.

@syncig: Maybe it's perfectly "normal" art but your perception is making it look like an acid trip?

I like the story, but the art is making it a bit difficult to follow. Last issue was pretty hard to follow and this seems to be following the same path. I'll be supporting the book obviously, but I'll be happy when a new artist comes on board.

Also, is it just me, but is anyone else a but annoyed by the way Loki talks in this preview...I get this is an older version of Loki and he's going for that Shakespeare-like tone, but I find his dialogue to be a bit...annoying. <_<

That a gunshot wound on Buck's back, you can see it in the picture below that.

ALL RIGHT! This preview has me so stoked! One of my favorite characters, going to one of my favorite locations in the MU, facing off against an incarnation f one of my favorite villains...& all in time for my b-day! Bucky kicking ass in Asgard..who could ask for more?

Yeah, I was talking about the book with the guys at my LCS(more like a trading post, but the closest thing I've got to a decent LCS, I digress), & they were really confused by the art as well; that seems to be the one major gripe with the book, everyone likes the story/premise, but most people find the art jarring. I would, too, if I hadn't been reading Heavy Metal magazine stuff for years...visually that's the best thing I can connect it to, it really takes time for your optics to get in league with your brain on that kind of art, I agree. If I hadn't been exposed to stuff like Heavy Metal & Metal Hurlant, I think I'd be having the same problems, too. I think Rudy might get more stable as time goes along. But speaking of other artists, I'd love to see Epting or Guice come back; or Lee Weeks or Michael Lark; not sure if they'd fit the more cosmic vibe of the book, but man they defined how Bucky/Winter Soldier should look.

Yeah, I find the Shakespearean tongue Old Loki is using a bit annoying as well. I remember when all the Asgardians used to talk like this, & I remember being so glad when they made their speech more like how people from LOTR would talk; & this comes from a guy who loves classic Thor & who can quote Shakespeare; changing the Asgardian speech patterns to a more universally understandable medieval tone was a huge improvement. Hopefully Old Loki's dialogue won't be like that through the whole book, maybe just using it to screw with Bucky's head further along with the effects of the bullet.

On another note, I just can't wait to see Bucky go head to head with some Frost Giants, guns blazing!!

The art reminds me of the weird art in the 2nd Bloodshot series.

The story reads as very intriguing and deep. But the art is too disconcerting and difficult to follow for me. Still this looks like one of the better Marvel books I'm not reading.

I'm still not so keen on the dialogue, but the story is interesting and the art is great.

Part of me is afraid that Bucky may not be actually fighting Frost Giants like we saw in an earlier preview, but it will actually all be in his head. :(

Although movie, I think your duck didn't pay enough money for the art. This is how much money the art is worth...

Man, I hope not. That would suck out loud. Bucky taking on Frost Giants is too cool to not be in there.
