No values are returned when searching with the API. If this same value is plugged into the web search then valid results are returned as expected.

Yep, confirming this problem. If you have a file that has scraped Comic Vine info and a link already present in its metadata then it will re-scrape info, but any new search via the API doesn't turn up anything.

Another issue I'm having, only tonight, may be linked but it might just easily not be, is I can't go to the comic vine entry of a previously scraped comic; I right click> Web> nothing happens

I can confirm this problem as well. It seems like something changed in the last 24-48 hours, and now when you do a volume query using the "search" resource, you always get an empty set of results, regardless of what your search term was. For example, the following search used to return many results, now it returns nothing (substitute your own API key):

http://www.comicvine.com/api/search/?api_key=<YOUR-API-KEY-HERE>&format=xml&resources=volume&field_list=name&query=batman

There are also problems with "http://www.comicvine.com/api/search" if you search with "resources=issue". The returned results of the search don't seem to match the query terms at all, and even though it says it is returning 20 results, it often only returns 2 or 3...?

I believe the API searching portion (at least) was working as late as 2:30pm EST on Monday, September 22nd, 2014. I know it was working as I expected at 11:30am EST. I first noticed it wasn't returning as expected around 3:30pm EST. Hopefully that helps find a problem in the logs or something.

Reached out about this issue through Twitter and the response was they were passing the info along to the API guys to "find out what's up."

@royaljack and all others: Yes, issue is fixed. It will come out with our next release (tomorrow). It's being QA'd now, and should be available tomorrow around this time. I will post here again tomorrow with an update.

@jslack: Was the lightning fast indexing on the site just a fluke cause api searching wasn't working or is it permanent? It's nice having things index in under a minute.

@jslack So I guess we can assume this is related to the bash bug? If not then will the bug delay the release of the api fix?

@pikahyper: It's taking advantage of a cache. We should actually always be that fast. Getting faster going forward too.
