This is the place for any questions you may have about the battle forum. If you don't get something, post here and someone should be able to help you out. You can also post battle-related comments here. If you want to know what "canon" means, ask here. If you want to talk about who makes the best battle threads, do it here. If you want to know if a fight would be a good one but don't want to just post it, here's the place you can find out. Posting that stuff here keeps the rest of the battle forum free of random threads so everything else should be a fight.

You can use the setup that I think people assume anyway. It's in italics on the rules page.

The only rules I know is don't make a thread that is already been made

Okay, it seems one of the functions of this thread is to find out if threads would be stupid before posting them, so I got one:

What gives buckshot the right to make such an official sounding thread "reads moderator tag" oh ,good idea though

Is the Door fair? Its none of the Authorities powers and gives them the advantage of being able to find their opponents via the carrier's tracking abilities. If it is stated from the start sure no problem, but people just seem to put it in their for these characters.

I mean usually when people make a fight with Iron man its just him not him and the hellicarrier, his various satelites and other armour. Or Blackbolt and his whole race of which he is King.

Depends on the thread. Isn't the Door standard? Not just for travel but as an offensive weapon? I've seen Midnighter use it on several occasions as a weapon or implement it into his attack. So if we're going by standard gear and abilities I'd say the Door is more then fair. Unless stated otherwise in the opening.

But I do see quite a few people use Iron Man's ability to use satellites as well as his various armor in battle topics. Black Bolt using The Inhumans is a different circumstance in my opinion. Its not like Midnighter is using Apollo or the other Authority members.

OK, I checked the Battles Forum Rules page and it didn't answer this, so m question is if characters have something like cosmic awareness, does that automatically give them prep time, because I've heard people say that with SS, that he'll know all about his opponent before he or she even attacks, in battles where prep time wasn't included. Is that OK or not?

I think Prep time also includes planning out an attack, gathering resources and tools and, well, preparing. Cosmic Awareness gives a combatant an advantage over someone who doesn't have it, but I do not think it should be counted as prep time.

do all the fights have to be comic book charactors?

Should Cortana be included in battles with Master Chief?

I think she's more of a partner but if the thread starter specifies she's included then yes.

Well if the thread starter specifies that anything is included then they will be included but some viners include her whether it was specified or not.

If she's not, then no.

When supersps2 made the debate battle between King Saturn against Brainiac, why was it locked? It was in the "Off Topic" section so it could be about anything correct? Unless something personal would be involved, Super made the thread in a non-biased as possible. Why is it locked?

I'm not trying to start up any trouble rather curious as to why.

I have two questions concerning Cassandra Cain's abilities.

1. How fast are we to believe Cassy to be? Bullets travel faster than sound (High caliber sniper bullets travel especially fast). That would mean that, in order to dodge a bullet after it has been fired she would have to move and react at super-sonic speeds. She would create sonic booms with her movements. Originally Quicsilver's top speed was the speed of sound. Are we to debate as if she can actually move this fast?

1. Comic book physics. She's fast enough to dodge bullets but not actually as fast as that would realistically require her to be. She's not going to out run Quicksilver, but she might dodge  punch or two from him (though I'd think that it wouldn't be sustainable so she'd get clobbered after the initial dodge). That's just my take on it.

2. I'd say yeah. Growing up being violently attacked day in and day out she's gained an ability to sense danger that hasn't been discussed deeply.

I always put Cassie in the 'metahuman' class for speed / agility / strength. this was addressed in the comics when it was stated that it is possible for a normal human to pass metahuman level abilities (Such as old women lifting a car off her son during an accident or someone throwing a 150MPH fastball during baseball). it isn't possble however for them to do it all the time or all at once like Metahuman's can.

2. it's not danger sense, it's just pure training... she was trained from a young age by Cain to be an asassin and to dodge knives, bullets and the like

but again, as with all comic characters history, it's always upto interpretation
