Hmmm this is somebody that I can agree that can "truly kill" zeref and not Aizen. Ichibei's last move on yhwach can kill immortals he even stated reincarnation won't be possible.

But the problem, and the question will always be....can ichibei counter being frozen in TIME STOP? Pls I need people to bring up reasonable arguments as to how he gets past that and not just saying he stomps zeref without giving it much thought.

^^ Zane already answers most of what zeref will do above, any or all attacks/damage ichibei does to zeref will be reversed tru TIME REWIND. I believe the only attack that will kill zeref will be that his last resort, but that's assuming ichibei can resist TIME STOP in the first place.

Anyways, I think zeref wins, He would stop time and finish him with LAW or a death wave.

Am loving these zeref threads tho. This is one FT character that I can truly argue for, cuz his abilities are just broken AF. It takes more than just firepower to beat him.

Time stop would pretty much be the end of ichibe.

Asides from that, he could win based on what I know due to the name change.

@gilateen: I agree that FT in general does tend to get slept on but this is ridicolous. Ichibei is waaay faster, more powerful and has hax that hard counters Zeref. Even if this was WM Zeref, I don't see how he wins at best he may stalemate him.

Is the speed difference really that huge that he wouldn’t just activate time-stop before ichibe performs an action?

thats how. zeref used time stop once in the entire series and it was not in a battle situation.

@faradaysloth: Being faster helps but u forgetting that zeref is immortal, if ichibei blitzes zeref and strips him off his power zeref will just Undo it with TIME REWIND. Natsu did the same thing. He "completely" vaporized zeref. Even a speck or blood wasn't left of him, but zeref totally rewinds everything, not only his body but including the portion of the guild natsu busted up in the attack.

Ichibei best shot at winning this is to blitz while setting up his futen saitatsurio (his strongest attack) but the incantation takes too long and by that time zeref would have undone everything with his time magic.

Ichibei does have the means to kill him with that one technique, but it takes too long to setup. While on the other hand, all zeref needs to activate Time stop or rewind time, is just with a freaking THOUGHT.

@limitlesssigil: Yes its in character for zeref to use it. Time magic is the core of zeref's abilities. He abused it a lot when he got fairy heart. Casually rewinding time and wanting to time jump 400years into the past.

@faradaysloth: Ichibei can take away zeref's time rewind? Well how would he do that? Am not saying it isn't possible am just curious. Pls enlighten me, Cuz I don't think recall ichibei having kind of ability. I could be wrong tho.

@el_directo_: ichibe ink from his zanpaukto makes someone lose their names and powers. Pretty freaking OP, which is why I believe anyone who is slower than ichibe will definitely lose.

There are two types of people in this thread:

A: Ichibei nullifies Zeref's power

B: Zeref uses the power he just lost to stop his power from being lost.

In character I see Ichibei steamrolling by stats. Besides that...

Truth is both should be able to kill eachother Ichibei with his ink and Zeref with some other form of hax but the way I see it Ichibei is more likely to pull his ink before Zeref pulls his time stop.

As far as I remember Zeref relied on time stop few times while Ichibei pulled Ichimonji's after a single clash. Of course people can argue for more dynamic interactions for both characters but based on use Ichibei takes the mayority for me here

That being say as other people allready said Ichibei has no counters to time stop itself
