@hstgoddess: I did say he loses to Yhwach. The thing is, however, he curbstomps everyone else. A hill feat is considered to be a top tier feat in Bleach by Aizen's own admission. On the other hand, Nagato has country level feats. Hence why SK Yhwach > Nagato > everyone else in Bleach.
Team wins via better stats, while CHibaku tensei can indeed be a problem, both shinigami can fly and have more than enough power to easily one shot pain if he gets hit, pain has nothing that can severely injure the team
pain cant do anything if Ikkaku rushes at him with Bankai he would just completely plow through everything, Shinra Tensei has a 5sec delay so even if Pain uses it to block ikkaku first strike, it cant work everytime other than that pain has nothing else to offfer, against ninjas he might be a threat due to ninjas crap level taijutsu but against ikkaku there is no such thing, even Yumichika or a 6th seat is massively superior in physical stats to pain.
the other paths are complete fodder, one was killed by konohamaru wall to Small BUilding level rasengan, another was killed by Choji/Chouza weak punch, another was killed by Kakashi Raikiri, in comparison the paths of pain are no different than a common HOllow from chapter 1 where the hollow with a common punch can pulverize several meters of concrete
unless Pain can get both of the shinigami into Chibaku tensei this fight cannot be won by Pain
while Pain does indeed posses more DC/AP what good is it if your enemy can still one shot you, fight is not always about DC/AP in this case Pain is just physically trash, with a chance even Sakura would one shot him.
Against Nagato it would be an even easier fight as they no longer need to worry about targeting other paths and just one, no need to worry about sync eyesight.
stats for Ikkaku -> Took a Town level Punch from Edorad Leones directly and tanked it then proceeded to physically fight him in Bankai.
@raziel2014: see I get your point and completely agree with Ikkaku's strength. But the thing is, Nagato has shown the ability to just mandhandle a powerhouse like killer bee. I'm not saying that bee is ikkakku level, just as a basis. Let's look at the abilities:
Nagato has a soul dragon that can suck out and absorb people's souls, the ability to absorb any ninjutsu based attacks, an ability to turn himself invisible via the chameleon summon as well as summon a virtually immortal dog that replicates itself the more times ot gets cut, and the ability ro manipulate repulsive and attractive forces.
There are a multitude of ways he can handle Ikakku and Yumi. Nagato isn't a slouch in speed either.

But he's very underrated and my favorite because out if everyone in that series of battles only he won with the 5x nerf not even Toshiro stood a chance untill after the nerf was lifted, Ikkuki just didn't care about the nerf.

Assuming Pain can tank the attack he used to city bust then nagato should have no problem doing it.(since the attack isnt even city level) Especially since Pain is much weaker than nagato himself.

I know his durability doesn't increase from Shikai to Bankai, but I believe it increases from base to Shikai.
And I agree. He's one of my favorites from the series, and definitely an underrated swordsman in terms of skill. I wish he had a few more moments down the line. At least a better fight in the Fullbring arc if nothing else.
@mattyboi: Btw, can you show something that states Nagato's durability is much stronger?
Nagato tanked an attack from 8 tails cloak killer bee, who is relevant to kcm naruto while a weaker form can stomp pain(he was weakened but still got stomped). Also nagato was stomping bee and kcm naruto at the same time so..
Pain isnt one shotting nagato so yes nagato can tank it.

2. Pain is a corpse, impossible to compare his durability to Nagato's

Nagato gets cleaved in two by either Ikkaku or Yumichika, and he can do nothing about it since he has no piercing durability feats, nor the ability to dodge.
