Title says all.
You can pick any sword of your choice. (only swords, you can pick a knife if you want to)
You can pick any armor (Kevlar, Samurai etc)
I'll take a Claymore or just any good sized two handed medieval sword, and a full generic suit of interlocking medieval plate armor, heat to toe, some kind of gambeson underneath to fill in the gaps. Honey Badger should be easy enough. It will basically be a war of attrition where I wave a sword around like an idiot until I hit the dam thing enough times to kill it. From there it either stops at 2 or with some extreme luck I clear. Strategy would be to brace myself for a relentless charge, at which point I hold out the pointy end of the sword and hope I get a clean hit through the heart or something. Not likely to succeed either way even under best conditions.
Use the sharp spikes on the armor to deter the animal from touching me and use the huge sword like a spear to keep my distance and stab at vital points.
you'd crap your pants when you see the gorilla lol
Okay, still asking for a spear. Because a sword is dumb. Would require training we do not have in order to land blows with good edge alignment to get good enough lacerations to put a large animal down.
Even a random boar spear would be better then, literally, any sword in real life because:
1. Super easy to use.
2. Range is safety.
3. Spears have been used to hunt animals, large and small, since we were cavemen.
No one is clearing a f*cking gorilla.
Gorillas are incredible strong. But they have some weakness which makes possible to beat them if armed.
1. Gorillas have low durability and a similar body structure to humans (organs placed in similar places etc) their greatest weakness is their soft skin, which is similar to humans and only protected by hair in some places. These weakness are exploited by big cats who often hunt them.
2. As herbivores, they will avoid fights with other animals at all costs and if greatly injured they often panic.
