X-Men: Age of Ultron

In this thread, X-Men from the Fox movie universe will attempt to defend the core from Ultron's robots, exactly like the Avengers did in their latest movie. All the X-Men will be morals on but know the seriousness of the situation and are willing to do anything within their power to prevent the Ultron bots from getting to the core. They also have full knowledge of the bots, 5 minutes to run though strategy, and all their standard gear.

The X-Men defending the core are as follows:

• Cyclops
• Wolverine
• Colossus
• Beast
• Iceman
• Sunspot
• Storm
• Gambit
• Bishop

They will be holding off the same amount of Ultron bots the Avengers did in the film, and if they survive they will face Ultron himself.

How will they do? Will they protect the core, or die trying?

Storm solos. All she really has to do is summon ,multiple town busting tornadoes.

Didn't she do it in X-2? She created dozens of Tornadoes with ease and with precision.

She only created about 4 I believe and they were just strong enough to send fighter jets off course, not really town bust.

I hope Magneto is here,he would have a helluva time.

Insteresting.. I think the X Men can do it

they clear fairly easily. Ultron seemed to be weak against massive amounts of energy. Heating him up (Sunspot) & rapidly dropping his temp (Iceman) should cause major damage to his systems & may even break his armour.

Maybe Bobby can seduce him, Ultron did have a very flamboyant voice.

They die. None of the mutants used here are as powerful as the Avengers. Certain members from the Avengers could solo this team.

They succeed. The bots were pretty lame and Logan can just have Collosus throw him into Ultron and cut his head off.

Iceman solos... he just puts up a 10' thick dome of ice around the core and lowers the temperature outside of it to near absolute zero, causing the robots to turn brittle and fall apart

Sure, still has the same powers as the comic version. and did put up a 3 foot thick wall of ice in x-men 2, a dome and lowering ambient temp shouldn't be that hard.

X-men can take it. but may lose to ultron

They can't beat Ultron

Some could solo, most would survive easily. The only ones who may have issues would be Beast, Sunspot, Bishop, Colossus, and Sunspot. None of these could take Ultron individually. Those bots were basically fodder though, I think probably 1,000 of them were easily destroyed without landing a single blow on an Avenger, including Hawkeye and Widow. Only Ultron, Quicksilver, and a Hydra auto-cannon caused any real damage to an Avenger.

Magneto would solo if he was here, but is rarely used in battle forums for some reason.

Iceman could solo if written correctly, very easily.

Cyclops could solo if given the right vantage point, but would likely need the team to win here. I have read that he could cut a planet in half with his beams.

Wolverine would come close to death a few times but I think he might be able to take the MCU Ultron 1 v 1.

Storm could solo all of Ultron's minions, but could not damage Ultron himself enough to win.

Gambit could theoretically destroy any given robot including Ultron pretty easily, but all at once I foresee Gambit getting tagged a few too many times.

Team wins though, Iceman could freeze Ultron very easily. Ultron could build any body he wants, if Iceman takes all of the energy from his molecules Ultron can't do anything.

They clear the fodder but get murked by Ultron.

The X-Men should clear, but not without losses.

X-Men win this easier than Avengers did.

This is where I am leaning toward. I think they can handle the fodder Ultrons but would defintely lose some team members when they take on Ultron directly.

Please. Storm will spend a majority of the fight trying to manifest anything. Unless it's lightning she has a significant (and irritating) build up time.

I feel like Storm and Cyke got this. However, Cyclops cant be the idiot he was in the movie 75% of the time.

His blast on the lake in X3 and his blast in X2 when Toad stole his visor were both much more powerful than anything else used on Ultron or his drones.

I might get some heat for this, but I feel like the X-men team are actually a fair bit more powerful than the Avengers team. The sentinels were a much more powerful army and they were really doing pretty well against them.

It's not really that significant. In X3 and DoFP, she used it pretty quickly.

Both of those blasts were when he had his visor off, not something he would really do here, I think.

@thevivas: Honestly yeah. Bishop's gun alone was almost as powerful when he charged it as some of the blasts we saw Thor do. I'm not saying he was as powerful as Thor, I'm just saying his gun had some crazy damage output. Storm had more damage output than any of the Avengers. Iceman and Sunspot were roughly in Iron Man's league. Wolverine is a one man army without his healing factor, when he has it he can survive just about anything (nukes, disintegration, etc.) and his blades are more durable than any of the Ultron robots by far. And Hulk is way stronger than Colossus, but Colossus still would be more than strong enough to tear through most of the robots like Hulk did. Plus even Gambit would be a match for the fodder bots given his insane speed feats as well as some pretty good damage output.

Now is any single member of the X-men team more powerful than Thor, Hulk or Vision? Other than maybe Storm, no of course they aren't. But they have a distinct advantage: they have more people with powers. The average power level of the X-men is greater than the average power level of the Avengers. I can't say for sure who would win in a fight between the two teams. Honestly I don't see how any of the X-men could put down Hulk, Thor or Vision with this lineup but the same could be said about Wolverine or Colossus plus the X-men have better damage output than the Avengers.

But on the topic of the battle, I think the X-men will do better than the Avengers did.
