Would a Green Lanern be allowed to stop Galactus?

If Galactus existed in the DC universe or if the Green Lanterns existed in the Marvel universe, would the Guardians of the Universe allow Green Lantern(s) to stop Galactus from eating their planet(s)? Afterall, Galactus is an essential force of the universe.

No. If he is needed in the universe then they won't. (Thats what I think) They probably help protect him.

But if he was of that much of a threat to the Universe they may be forced to stop him.

well in one story (I forget if it was alternate reality or what) when Galactus is absent from the universe in his place is Abraxas an even worse being"

I think Galactus would have probably made them up him self lol.

The reason why Galactus exists in the Marvel Universe (and depending on this battle, if he existed in the DCU with the same purpose. And as an added bonus, a bit of history on how the "Devourer of Worlds" came to be.):

Aside from keeping Abraxas imprisoned, which is one of the reasons his strength is constantly depleting, he also balances life in the universe and his death will create the next big bang (unless that was retconned). It's also a little fuzzy, but I remember there's something about him having to eat planets and stuff in order to seed the next universe. Then the next universe will have a new Galactus (and new Eternity, and new Death, etc.) and the cycle will begin all over again.

What would the Guardians say if he tried to eat Mogo?

I don't know if he has a special duty...but perhaps they would just see it as him fulfilling his destiny in the fight to save the Universe"

He guides all the gl rings to people with enough willpower to control it. He is ver important to the Green lanterns.
