Wolverine vs Black Panther: Unarmed Cage Fight

Rules

• Wolverine: 616, No Healing factor, adamantium or claws
• Black Panther: 616, No Tech or equipment
• Both at their prime and retain their physical stats (Strength, Speed, Endurance/Stamina, Skill, etc)
• No Prep, Random Encounter
• No Morals, In character
• Takes place inside a 20x20x20 foot indestructible cage
• Win by KO/Incapacitation/Death

They should be around the same level in skill and strength, but BP speed advantage gives him the edge.

Logan. With no adamantium to weigh him down, he should be just as fast as Black Panther. His super senses should give him the edge, even if their skill is more or less equal.

How are people saying Logan? What martial arts or any actual type of fighting style is he trained in? Last time I checked, he has the fighting style of a somewhat sloppy boxer - claws as a feral beast.

He has no claws. No metal. No feral fighting style unless he's going to scratch at Black Panther with his finger nails. Which, I guess is allowed.

Black Panther still has how many different fighting styles and years of training on him. Black Panther STOMPS here.

I love Wolverine but without the claws, what is he doing exactly fighting style wise? Someone scan me. I love both characters involved, but besides really terrible Tumblr posts saying he "knows _____ fighting styles" there's not much backing to that claim. Most of his comics include the usual lunging, throwing of punches and more than anything else, slashing. Again, besides slashing finger nails what is he doing here? Especially because it seems like any type Black Panther fought Logan, the only thing holding Black Panther back from pimp handing him was trying to not get cut up.

So what am I missing here? And this is by KO too. Something that I feel like Black Panther would have no issue doing.

@blackestnight93: I read post 33, and it's been awhile since I've been in battles but one thing I always hated was when comic books do something where they state "HE KNOWS ALL THESE MARTIAL ARTS STYLES" yet the comics never show it. To me, it's literally the whole cheapened out aspect. Unless they're going to show and prove it within the comic, it's just annoying to not see it.

However, I did take note of the exclusive fighting styles he does know of and I'm pretty amazed. Shame they don't cover those more often. That being said: I still have to hand the edge to Black Panther. Definitely not in a stomp now and more of a hardcore bloodied out fight. Only because the feats of Black Panther's actual martial arts still show to outclass that of Wolverine's. Again though, that's not me kicking the can on Logan. Because I can still see him taking it a few rounds. But I still think Black Panther has the edge on him.

He's only at best stalemated Steve and beaten him when he wasn't at his best while Wolverine has gotten the upperhand on him twice. T'Challa using his skill more often doesn't make him more skilled than Wolverine..who has shown he's more than capable of demonstrating his high level of martial skill when he opts to.

@all-father: T'Challa beat Iron Fist too (who was also bloodlusted at the time), I don't think he ever fought Shang-Chi.

In this fight wolverine is in his prime and will be using his skill.

On a side note, Logan consistently uses skill against skilled opponents, it's only when he faces fodder such as ninjas or mercenaries that he lets his healing factor do all of the work.

Nobody mentioned skill, strength or speed. He was not specific at all.

I was referring to you, not God Spawn.

Renny put up the pic of BP throwing Logan to argue that BP would win this match, which you agreed with. Then GS posted the pic of cyclops to show that throwing someone does not make them superior in terms of skill, speed or strength (which is what this match is about). Then you said Cyclops is superior and I told you that he isn't superior in strength, speed or skill.

Basically, you missed the point of why God spawn posted the picture of Cyclops throwing Logan.

To clarify, T'Challa has only defeated Cap in a sparring match. Steve flat out said it would not have been anywhere near as easy in a true fight. Their other fight in CoC ended with Cap winning, but T'Challa also mentioned his heart wasn't in it. Both fights are circumstantial. Whereas Logan has gotten the better of Cap twice (AvX, Wolverine: Origins) in encounters that actually hold value. The former was written by Ed Brubaker. He likely knows how good Cap is, I'd wager.

Nevertheless, Wolverine's showing against T'Challa himself under Cornell was just embarrassing.

True, but Cornell wrote wolverine as having no skill, which isn't really consistent at all considering he displayed considerable skill before and after Cornell got his hands on him. Heck during Cornell's Killable story arc Logan himself was straight up embarrassing, being afraid of everything, including shaving. While in the Death of Wolverine story written by Charles Soule he fearlessly fought everyone he could, including sabretooth, despite a lack of healing factor and even defeated 8 armed martial artists with ease without claws or HF.

So Wolverine didn't show skill when he bested Iron fist, Shang chi, Captain america, daredevil, bucky, sabretooth, the black dragon squad, silver samurai, put down 8 armed martial artists with no claws or HF or when he put down Kid gladiator with a pressure point?

@king_nomarch: No but I believe he has stated that he believed Shang Chi to be the best fighter in the MU which includes himself.. of course even if, BP would still win due to equipment

I"m on the fence on this one. I think BP might have more types of fighting skill, but Wolverine has many more years experience in fighting and learning new ways to fight. I think it could go either way.

@educated: It was during The Bride arc he told Luke that Danny is good but Shang-Chi is the best.

A lot of that had to do with his tech though. And even then Danny beat a brain aneurysm into him.

And I'd take the Shang-Chi being the best talk with a grain of salt. Not sure if you guys are just mentioning it or using it in some capacity. Just covering my bases here.

He didn't really use tech except slipping the ear piece in Danny's ear. All though Danny was unstable and T'challa was holding back.
