So i know plenty of Marvel and DC characters that could beat Superman, but who do you think could beat him in a random encounter that isn't Marvel or DC?
I can only think of a few such as Neo, Goku maybe Dante
Number 1. How does Superman routinely beat on Thor? They're not even in the same universe, so I don't see how you can even make that statement? If anything, it's a hypothetical fight, and one that is extremely close.
Number 2. Alex Mercer starts with street levels, absorbs all of their skills and knowledge, and works his way up, until he has amassed enough power and abilities to easily be able to conquer Thor, and then consume him as well.
In a one on one fight in the middle of nowhere, Mercer would lose. But if he's able to consume other heroes and steal their powers? Then disguise himself as them? Superman and Thor are dead.

And Superman works at a nanosecond level, Thor at a microsecond level, while Thor and Superman are fairly evenly matched in most other areas, Superman is just too fleet of foot. Which is why to date, Thor has lost the majority of the threads that pit him against Superman.

But if they're in the middle of a populated city that many superheroes inhabit, like New York, than Alex can just run off, find and then consume some street leveler like Cap, work his way into the Avengers disguised as Cap, and slowly pick them off one by one. Ever seen the movie "The Thing"? It would kinda work like that, except with a creature that can at base form survive a nuke.
But obviously if Alex is forced to just fight him, and isn't allowed to do all that, than Thor would stomp, since Alex can do nothing to harm him, while Thor can do...a lot, actually.

The nuke survival thing was pretty far from the epicenter and it reduced him to a puddle that needed to eat a nearby bird to regenerate from. And all it would take to foil that plan would be running into someone like the Red Hulk or a scan from a super techie like Iron Man to blow his cover and let the Heavy hitters go to town on him, and given that James Heller killed him by pulling him apart, I'm not sure if he could withstand the Avengers.
I'm just going with the General opinion that Superman wins because of his speed but are otherwise very evenly matched. In a speed equalized fight I'd say Thor would actually soundly beat down Superman.

Only three of those could for certainly beat Post-Crises Supes (I'm not entirely certain about Tenchi, but from the bullshit people like to say, he probably could in the form you mentioned) while the other two, Seiya and Super Saiyan God Goku are evidence that you're probably Spanish and don't know English too well.

I posted total five, you say three certainly beat post-crisis supes, tenchi uncertain (well, he lolstomps, actually), and Seiya and SSj G cannot.. That makes six lol. You're the one who needs to learn counting first :p
