Vulcan at his peak of potential (can control all the 7 elements etc) vs the Fantastic Four.
Let's say Vulcan fights to expand his Shi'ar Empire and the Fantastic Four fights for the Earth.
Fight takes place in NYC, and the FF had 30 mins of prep (they saw his fleets closing in).

Nice one.

What would be his defense against Sue?  I see her being the factor for the win.

Vulcan at his peak potential has limitless power and would annihilate the FF with no trouble at all. He could probably destroy the entire planet.

Vulcan would take 'em....only person I see with some potential to beat him is Invisible Woman but the odds are in Vulcan's favor

Ahh true. Now that I think of it it's probably a big overkill.

Not at all, consideing they could conceivably be completly powerless against an individual who conquered the entire Shi'ar Empire, including the Imperial Guard.

I think he beat them so easy cause there was so much energy around for him to manipulate.

Well the Human Torch is completely useless here, considering the fact that Vulcan manipulates fire with ease. Same goes for Invisible Woman, her energy blasts will only charge Vulcan. This leaves Reed and the Thing to do all the work, which I highly doubt they can handle.

I agree, give em a month or something and they can pull off a win, but on short notice they get MASSACRED.

Vulcan seem unable to defend against brute strength. It's how Gladiator beat him.

Well it wasn't 1v1 with Gladiator as you probably know. If Vulcan was to fight Gladiator again you probably know how it would turn up. But it's true what you say, brute strength is his weakness.

No, Gladiator beat him through strength of will/confidence in himself. This is how Gladiator's powers work. It was not brute strength alone.

It was strength of his blow that brought him down. His confidence makes him strong but it was still that strength that did it.

Actually, it wasn't a blow. Gladiator plucked out his eye. What really gave Gladiator the opportunity to do this was his confidence that Vulcan's blasts wouldn't incinerate him. Thing does not have the same advantage.

He was hit by his blast before the last attack and it didn't incinerate him. I don't think it would incenerate the Thing, though he would have a harder time getting through his defenses. I think that the FF's team work could see to that. Have Sue do that thing with his eyes so he can't see, then have the Thing get in to deliver the fnal blow.

Vulcan wouldn't have to "see" at peak potential. He could perceive them as pure energy. Thing is also going to have a really hard time landing a final blow on someone who can fly. Also, as I said, he could just blow up Earth. Vulcan shut off a Phoenix avatar's powers completely. I don't see the FF giving him any trouble.

When did he do this?

And she only has a small fraction of the Phoenix power.
And don't forget how powerful Johnny's nova blast can be.

He's never done it, but then again, he's never reached his full potential. He has however displayed the ability to see energy exchanges that are on a spectrum not visible to anyone else. One of his eyes is now cybernetic as well, not sure if it does anything fancy though. Johnny's completely useless in this fight useless because fire = energy. His nova blast would either be negated or turned inward upon himself.

I think the key character for the FF to win this is the Thing, but then again, FF has like one in a million chance to bring him down with the tight prep schedule they had.
