I think that Warcraft leaders are quite a bit stronger than Warhammer ones, especially Grom. If that's true, than that alone would be a major advantage. I'll see what others say about that.

You sure? Demon Blood Grom Hellscream is pretty dang strong

What can Teclis even do? Before End Times he was just a basic Archmage more or less, and I think I shall as per tradition pretend Age of Ultramar Sigmar doesn't exist

The fact he is a high elf mage alone, hes auto better than 90% of WC. However since hes an arch mage so to speak hes 95% better than Wc ( azeroth as always ). However his feats are

  • Being a High elf Mage ( knows all forms of magic )
  • Being a high elf arch mage ( knows all forms of magic )
  • Being part of the Line of Aenarion
  • Defeated a greater daemon; N'kari
  • Fought Malekith and won ( pre you know god hood )
  • Destroyed armies with his magical powers including daemons and dark elves alike along with phucking every other army in the fantasy setting without any issue.
  • Oh did I tell you, hes a HIGH ELF MAGE!!!!

( also FYI only Malekith is second to teclis in magical arts in the current times ( before end times because big daddy Nagash is boss at that time ) and ofc Malekith being a good fighter as well upon his flipping dragon so.... Grom is gonna prolly die from its breath alone or be severally effected )

Including what Killer posted?

Banished an entire Daemon host (including Be'lakor)... with ease.

The shining blades of three hundred Swordmasters of Hoeth rose and fell in glittering arcs, tore through immaterial forms, and carved apart the incorporeal bodies of their unholy adversaries. Though the Elves fought with unparalleled skill, they were few, and every one that fell was overwhelmed by unending waves of Daemonic claws, talons, and blades. At the center of the Elven force, in a circle formed by his loyal warriors, stood Teclis. Drinking deep from a shining phial, he unleashed his power. Flames of white energy leapt from the ground and formed a half sphere around the High Elf Mage. Blinding in its intensity, the magical fire expanded out and into the air and pushed further away from Teclis. The screeches of Daemons filled the air, as the cleansing flames banished them back to the Realm of Chaos. For a moment, a dark shadow lingered on after the flames had gone, a vague patch of darkness in the air, until even that flittered away and was lost. No Daemon remained on the field. - SoC

Can also dig through the Teclis/Tyrion novels, but Teclis is rather insane in the membrane when it comes to power with only Nagash and higher gen Slanns being his better.

But Grom isn't getting close to Teclis without being zapped. Kinda his thing.

Not sure if you can debate or not.

Present feats that everyone can understand or you didn't present feats at all.

It's simple as that.

@swagpack: again it was directed to decaf you know someone who knows warhammer fantasy? The fact I said he defeated malekith in a fight pre end times ( something you won't know unless you know warhammer fantasy or unless I explain it ) means he's a very high level character the fact he also defeated one of warhammer fantasy greatest greater daemons without much of a problem ( again you won't know who that daemon is unless you know faantasy and or I explain to you who it is ) means his powers in magic are again super high. The fact he can solo armies with his magic means again he's a higher tier mags which soloing armies isn't entire new or rare in warhammer fantasy. The fact he's a high elf mage should instantly ring a bell as well for they are known to be able to wield any of the eight winds of magic far better than anyone and could even use a mix of them, but telcis being a lore master makes him even better because the title isn't easily earned or given ( lastly again something you'd have to know to understand ) and he knows all eight and can use all eight rather easily. So to put this into perspective humans for example can spend an entire life time just learning the basics of ONE of the eight winds so to really understand how powerful telcis is yoy have to know the lore of whom he fights and so on. This is why someone like wut didn't bother explaining to decaf who telcis had defeated other than give a name cause it's common knowledge for whom he was speaking to just like me. ( FYI I was also kind of trolling decaf with the whole mags thing but again that's not all I said... )

Regardless I'm mobile and so whenever I get home I can show a few feats in general for or for quotes explaining the fantasy setting. That or I could give you a run down as to why telcis is so powerful by giving you a rundown on the warhammer factions and such, up to you though

@swagpack: Lol, okay, I'll indulge you:

I'll cut out the more boring things like at only 16 (which would be a toddler to Elves) he was able to channel the power of a god to blast one of the strongest Slaanesh greater daemons, bind said magic to his brothers sword, and do all kinds of fun things and this was without any training whatsoever, and just get to the good stuff... and this good stuff.... it when he was only 100 years old, so when he was just coming into his powers, had yet to teach the Empire the eight lores of magic (that was him, btw) and was far from his prime, enjoy:

Neutralizing enemy magic:

He nudged Silver Wing to descend. The pegasus responded reluctantly, as if it sensed danger. Crossbow bolts begun to whizz by, some of them only deflected by Teclis’s magic. He caught sight of heavily armoured dark elf warriors firing up at him. With the power of the War Crown of Saphery enhancing his eyesight, he could make out the decorative metalwork on their helmets and the insignia on their shields. He could tell that there was a magician down there because he felt the shift in the currents of the winds of magic. He readied himself for the attack that was not long coming. A bolt of pure magical energy lanced upwards towards him. He invoked a swift counterspell and neutralised it.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 1679-1684). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Wiping out a Dark Elf Crossbow regiment:

He directed Silver Wing downwards. The dark elf soldiers ran to meet him. They were clearly uncertain as to who he was, but they were wary and they were levelling their crossbows. Teclis spoke a spell and when they unleashed their bolts, the projectiles caught fire in the air long before they reached him. Teclis invoked another spell – chain lightning danced around him, leaping from dark elf to dark elf, sparking from blade to blade, killing everything it touched. The smell of scorched flesh filled the air, mingling with the ozone stink of the electrical bolt.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 1713-1717). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Can't be harmed by crossbow bolts

They raised their crossbows and sent a hail of bolts flashing towards him. His charms repelled most of them. One or two found their way through, most of their energies spent. The impact was still painful though, and the sharp edge of one sliced his hands. Nearby Silver Wing whinnied and reared. Teclis turned to see that a bolt had bounced off his protective charms and hit the pegasus. Realising they could not harm him with their weapons, they were, with the merciless vindictiveness of their kind, concentrating their fire on Silver Wing.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 1741-1745). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Teclis defeating N'Kari (One of Slaanesh's strongest Greater Daemons, someone Tyrion, the greatest High Elf Swordsmen, considered his chances of deafting as less then zero) in moments, banishing him.

Teclis worked the spell of opening, using his powers to undo the intricate magical locking mechanism on the chains of binding. They fell away to the ground. N’Kari spread its claws wide and laughed. It seemed to expand with a new influx of power and evil. ‘You have made a mistake, little Teclis.’ Teclis knew he had only one chance. He spoke the words of banishment. N’Kari’s outline wavered. Without the chains to anchor it, it was prey to instability once more. Teclis manipulated the flows of magic around him, adding to the resistance of normal reality, aiding it in its attempts to expel N’Kari back to its natural home. ‘No!’ it cried, realising what was happening. It strode towards Tyrion, determined to take its revenge on one of the brothers. Teclis invoked another offensive spell. An enormous blast of magical energy ravened through his body and washed over the daemon, limning it with witchfire. N’Kari faded away, still screaming.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 3120-3128). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Showing Lore of Shadow ability to teleport short distances

Suddenly the shadows dancing near the fire warped and clotted. A tall figure stood there. Soldiers scrambled away, reaching for blades and spears. Tyrion looked up from where he sat but did not reach for his weapon. ‘You need to work on your entrances, brother,’ he said. ‘I don’t think that was quite dramatic enough. At least half of my warriors were not startled out of their wits.’

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 3653-3656). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

For reference on the speed Teclis and others at his level are with magic, all the below happens in heartbeats.

Teclis felt the cold power of the Witch King grow. Malekith had begun to summon the winds of magic to him and sculpt them into a massive, cold storm front of power. Gone was all attempt to subtly shape things. Now he was building a spell to smite his foes down with all the force of a hammer wielded by a god. The skies turned black. Strange polychromatic lightning danced along the underside of the clouds. The fingers of the wind tore at Teclis’s cloak. The currents out of shape, making it ungovernable, poisoning the structure of the spell even as it was created so that it would become unstable. His hope was that Malekith would try and cast the spell and it would run out of control, but the Witch King understood too well the ways of sorcery. He gave up all attempts at forming the massive attack spell and sent lines of force racing back along the currents of Teclis’s own weaving. Teclis had only a few heartbeats to counter them before bolts of scarlet lightning impacted on the wards he had set. He ground his teeth together with the effort of parrying the bludgeoning stroke. Sweat stood out on his brow. He cursed himself for over-confidence. Until this day he had not encountered a magician who was beyond his strength and skill to cope with. He had never encountered anyone as powerful as Malekith. He had a real battle on his hands, and he felt certain that if he continued to fight at this range, Malekith would win.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 4356-4368). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Teclis blasting Dark Elves with lightning, killing a score with his first and even more after (a score being twenty)

He spoke the words of a powerful incantation, and a blast of lightning smote the dark elf ranks, overloading the warding spells around them, leaping from metal spearpoint to metal spearpoint, jumping from armoured form to armoured form. A score of druchii died in the first blast. More died with his second. Again and again he sent the lightning smashing into them, until it was more than even druchii flesh could bear and the surviving warriors turned and fled.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 4386-4389). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Now we shall get into the 'Wipes out forces by himself' feats, they are fairly common:

Teclis tapping into his true power for the first time, he was always afraid of his own power so restricted himself. Not relevant, but after he does this, he feels 'great' at how he killed all the wizards, in his mind, but he cries and doesn't even realize it which is something I loved reading it, further seperated him and Tyrion as despite his conviction, Teclis doesn't like what he did.

He was going to give them a lesson in the use of power that they would not live to forget. There were wizards present among his enemies. They sensed what he was doing and tried to interfere. One of them sent a bolt of lightning arcing towards Teclis. It was like trying to put out a fire by throwing pitch upon it. Teclis merely drew on its energy and it dissipated harmlessly before it reached him. He added it to his own and began to shape it. The other dark elf mage attempted to dispel the magic he was casting. Teclis squelched his spell as he would an insect underfoot. He was drunk with power now. He was like a giant who could reach out and knock down the trees with his hands. He felt free for the first time in his life; free of all restraint, free of the restrictions he had placed upon himself out of fear of his own strength.

...

He wove a spell of awesome, ominous power. Words emerged from his throat and seemed to take shape in the air, becoming glowing runes of light formed by the very vibrations of his voice. They swirled around him, forming ever more complex patterns, daemonic in their complexity, moving ever faster around him until they seemed to leave lines of fire behind. Finally, when maintaining the spell was all but unendurable, he unleashed it. It flooded outwards, surging in lines of light towards the trees, lines dividing and re-dividing until there were hundreds of them. Each line sought out one living thing, one dark elf, and pursued it through the forest. Where those lines touched flesh, the targets screamed and died, becoming incandescent and then turning to dust which was blown away on the wind caused by the vortex of Teclis’s might. A few wizards tried to shield themselves, but Teclis’s spell smashed through their defences like an axe through rotten timber. Within heartbeats all of the druchii were dead, and Teclis stood in the centre of the clearing, over the dead body of the pegasus,

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 1766-1783). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Wipes out ten chaos sorcerers and an entire chaos force... with a hurricane that he summons and then releases with ease. Yeah, Teclis is a bit insane.

Even as the thought crossed his mind, Teclis heard a strange whizzing sound from above. He looked up and saw a sorcerer mounted on a flying disc pass overhead. It was one of the same wizards that he had seen previously. The mage was already starting to cast a spell, bringing down death on the elves in the woods. More of the sorcerers flashed into the air above the ford. Teclis counted ten of them, and all were potent wizards. The air shimmered around them as they summoned the winds of magic. Clouds of poisonous gas erupted in the forest. Rains of ice and fire descended upon the elven archers. Their screams filled the air. The brutal bellowing of the humans rose in triumph. What had seemed like an imminent defeat had suddenly become a potential victory.

...

He spoke a simple charm of dispelling. It sucked all the magic out of the air near three of those wizards who were flying overhead. The discs supporting them in the air suddenly vanished. They fell, suddenly and spectacularly, into the river below. He was not sure whether the fall had killed them or whether they were simply stunned by the descent from such a great height into the chill waters, but he was sure that they were out of the fight at least temporarily.

He spoke another word of power and a bolt of chain lightning knocked another two wizards from the sky. It was all so sudden that those he attacked had no chance to realise what was happening.

...

The human smiled as if he sensed he was putting his opponent under pressure. Teclis laughed aloud at his naivety. With a short chopping gesture he sent bolts of his own rocketing towards the human. The mage attempted to dispel them but failed to catch them all. One of the tiny circular spheres of energy hit the disc and exploded, shattering the flight spell and taking the human’s legs off at the knees; he fell flopping into the water and vanished beneath the fast-flowing waters. He did not become visible again.

Enough, Teclis thought, it was time to finish this thing. He spread his arms wide and pulled a massive amount of magic to him. He spoke words of elemental fury. The sky darkened, the wind howled, the branches of the surrounding trees whipped backwards and forwards under its force. It was as if an army of trees was giving a rustling war cry. The surface of the river turned white as the wind drove it on. A cloudburst of rain descended, putting out the fires on the far side of the river, wider and wider ripples

appeared on the water’s surface as heavier and heavier raindrops hit. The force of the wind increased till a hurricane ripped through the forest. Thunder cracked. Lightning flashed. A great tree toppled under the force of the wind. The humans swimming towards him screamed in panic. The sorcerers on their flying discs turned towards Teclis. They struggled to make progress in the teeth of the daemonic winds, as had been his intention. Chain lightning flared again, dancing from disc to disc, overloading the mages’ protective spells, causing the flying discs to disappear in a hail of sparks. It flashed down where armoured Chaos warriors stood, and danced from massive metallic armoured form to massive metallic armoured form. It impacted in the river and flash-fried those human warriors who were still trying to cross. They screamed and died, their bodies floating lifelessly downriver like so many logs. Within minutes it was over, the mage storm had cleared the Chaos force from the river.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 1935-1981). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Once more casually summoning a small hurricane and using it to dash a noxious cloud formed by Malekith and send it back at his own men

Teclis summoned an enormous wind to him. He drew it down from the skies, shaped its cyclonic force and then sent the hurricane ravening out over the battlefield. It smashed into the monstrous poisonous cloud pursuing Tyrion and rent it asunder, driving small ribbons of mist back into the druchii ranks, where they killed as they went until the storm force of the wind dissipated them entirely.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 4403-4406). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

To make him even more silly, he can levitate high off the ground, so, you ahve a wizard who easily dispells your spells, or turns them against you, can't be hit by arrows and can levitate so you can't tie him down in hand to hand, and if he really wanted to be mean, his ability to summon hurricanes means even fliers wouldn't do much to him. Teclis is incredibly potent.

He cast his mind back to his first flight on Silver Wing’s back, when he had tried to derive a spell of levitation from first principles. It was time to put that spell to the test. He summoned more power to him, and stepped upwards as if walking on an invisible stair. One step at a time, he walked upwards into the sky above the battlefield and saw all of the carnage laid out beneath him.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 4409-4412). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Despite this, at this period of time, Teclis is not as good as Malekith

‘Do you think you are stronger than me?’ Malekith asked. Teclis knew he was not. At best, he was Malekith’s equal in power and he was far inferior in knowledge and skill. All the things Tyrion had said when comparing himself to Urian were just as true for him when he compared himself to the Witch King.

Malekith fleeing Teclis

Teclis invoked the power of Asuryan. He reached out with his will and called upon the flames that burned within the Witch King’s body. They blazed up in response to his spell. The wards woven into Malekith’s armour could not protect him against the attack from within. ‘No!’ Malekith’s voice boomed across the battlefield. Teclis called upon the full power of the Moonstaff of Lileath, using it to sculpt all of his power into one massive bolt of ravening destruction, knowing the pain of the awakened flame within his body would keep Malekith from countering. Malekith however surprised him. As the titanic bolt smashed home, he spoke a potent spell. The massive armoured form vanished, leaving an outline limned in fire and the web of energies collapsing around him.

William King. Bane of Malekith (Kindle Locations 4444-4450). BL Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Without Malekith there to stop him, Teclis goes ham on their army which was 10,000 strong of Dark Elves and single-handily crushes them

Teclis drew upon the winds of magic again. He leapt upwards into the sky above the army, his aura glowing around him like that of a god. Teclis began to weave spells of destruction, drawing upon all the grim knowledge he had acquired in the library at Hoeth. He felt mad exultation build within him and knew that once more his soul was in danger. He did not let that stop him. Great clouds swirled over the ranks of the Naggarothi, rains of green acid showering down on them, burning their flesh. Bolts of chromatic lightning stabbed down from the sky, searing flesh and cutting great swathes from their ranks. Thunder so loud it burst eardrums and caused blood to gush forth made them cringe in terror. For long minutes an unleashed tide of destruction played over the battlefield such as few had ever witnessed or ever would again. There were times when Teclis thought it was all going to slip beyond his control and the powers he had so rashly thought to bind to his will were going to break free and destroy as much of his own side as they were destroying his enemies. Somehow, by dint of desperate effort, and mighty exertion of skill and will, and through not a little luck, he wrestled the forces under control, and the great storm of unleashed energy passed, leaving him standing alone on the hillside: drained, elated and empty.

To Sum It Up

Yes, Teclis is, by far, the strongest being in this battle. To be blunt, I don't believe he belongs in this battle because his mere presence throws the entire battle off when you have one guy who can stomp armies if no one is there to match him.. and there is no one here to match him.

@merulezall: Yeah.. he should keep it the same and just remove Teclis and add in another Elf hero that isn't the Everqueen. Thrall is more then strong enough to contend with Malekith's magic. Both of them is too much. (Did not see the supreme commander thing until it was pointed out which is hilarious. XD Makes me wonder why people thought Fel Grom was that important next to Green Jesus.)

@wut: Agreed it took a second for me to realize it, but yeah Thralls there. I'm actually kind of happy SWA made the alliance and horde this well though at least leadership wise, because that Skaven vs Horde battle was a wreck....

@merulezall: Yeah, Malekith has to stay as he is the only one able to bring the three elves together, so he picked good leadership for them and even left out Tyrion who hates Malekith while Teclis was more then willing to work with him.

@wut: Tyrion is a punk ass bitch. Teclis was the real MVP between the two of them. Also I think he could keep Teclis if we used and or added to the Night elves Malf and Human's Jaina, but that's just me.

However yes the whole leadership and everyone working together I feel he did a good job.

@merulezall: Indeed, there is even a quote from Morathi in their novels pointing out how Caledor (Who is pretty much Teclis, was even gaunt and unattractive for an Elf) was the one who truly saved the world, not Aenarion, yet it was Aenarion (Tyrion) who is proclaimed the hero and gets 600 foot statues created for him.

Great trilogy.

@wut: Interesting lore, Ill have to dig into that sometime.

However you know if Teclis can't be matched by those two wow mages though I feel a good swap for him would be Alith Anar. What do you think?

@merulezall: Alith Anar and Malekith is dicey. He only teamed up with Malekith to stop Tyrion who had gone crazy and then later because the End Times was there and that was more important. Korhill, Imrik (probably the best option here), pre-end times Eldyra or Aislinn all work.

@wut: No, but its not like hes going against his will here either and hes will another High elf. In order for this to work period it'd have to be End Times Malekith.

@merulezall: Lol it took the apocalypse to get Alith to work with Malekith, and even then, he was looking for the slightest reason to kill him. I doubt he would resist the second the world was no longer in peril.

@wut: Fair enough, but hey what are friends for? :) Maybe if Malekith just waited in the burning fire for one more second then he could of became PK, and none of this would of happened! Right?!? >:)

@merulezall: Really? I thought it was well written out, makes more sense then the Highborn, High Elves, Night Elves, Blood Elves, other elves that are somehow different yet look the same in WC. XD

In warhammer, you have the High Elves who are the original elves. The other two come from them, the Dark Elves came first and were all followers of Malekith during the Sundering, the Civil War. Just like the other Princes, Malekith had his own kingdom in Ulthuan (The High Elves are not a unified race, they are a collection of elven kingdoms loosely ruled over by the Phoenix King) called Nagarythe. Due to some crazy last ditch effort from his and his mother to destabilize the vortex since they were losing, Most of Nagarthe fell into the ocean and his people were forced into a mass exodus, Nagarthe is the farthest north of Ulthuan, so they couldn't really go anywhere but up if they wanted to not get murderstomped by Lothern's navy. (Ulthuan is a 'floating' island, held up by magic. It is the reason the Skaven have never been able to tunnel to it because... it isn't connected to 'land').

Landed in a bleak, cold land and called in Naggarond in honor of their last home. Originally, they looked like other elves, but over centuries, and millennia, new elves born in Naggarond started to have paler skin and darker hair due to the land they were born in, they look different entirely because generations of them were being born in different conditions. Nagarythe was also the most warlike of the kingdoms, even more then Caledor, and their culture grew more and more violent with Mal and this new harsh terrain, and boom, the Druchii were born.

Wood Elves are almost the same thing. They were colonist on the Old World mainland, but when the High Elves were kicked off by the Dwarfs, they fled to the forest instead of going home. It is important to note that the colonies had stood for centuries before they were kicked out, the colonist elves and Ulthuan elves saw each other as different and they had become different people. This was really seen with how they viewed Dwarfs, even near the end of the war, Elves in Ulthuan saw them as barbaric, hideous mud-people because their experience with them was just the occasional envoy and stories. The Colonist knew them, before, as friends and someone to trade and rely on then in war, as a horrible enemy but still... they remembered it. When the envoys were shaved, it became a joke in Ulthuan, when the Colonist saw it, they recoiled in horror at what had happened to them because they knew just how much they valued their beards and what kind of crime it was they committed (I should show you the scene, its very awesome when one of the envoys pulls of his helm in the middle of a colonial city). The Wood Elves saw the High Elves as arrogant, they had abandoned them and their duty.. plus the forest was 'alive' and.. weird.. so... Wood Elves became.. weird... but they are.. just weird and hate everyone, so meh.

XD But yeah, the elves, and how they came to be, makes a lot of sense.

@wut: Sorry to say this, but that's not what I meant. You kind of wrote a lot for no reason ha. What I meant was it was kinda odd they all just said "screw it" and went their own ways, breaking their own roots, for all the elves were once united. I find it very unique to see the different three elven factions operate very differently.

I just explained that... Literally... just explained this exact thing and how they can 'break from their own roots' and branch out into a new direction. I explained how it happened, that, in fact, the elves, as I'll say again below, were not 'truly' united in a uniform culture. It isn't like the Wood Elves were like, 'Lawls, lets have blade dancers!' thousands of years have passed since the colonial times to where 'modern' fantasy is now.

The elves were never unified. Not truly. Even now the High Elves are a collection of separate kingdoms all with their own culture and history. An Elf from Chrace doesn't have much in common with the Elf from Caledor or Eataine save for the fact they are 'elves'.

@wut: Again you're not understanding this. The elves when they split and fought was odd, they had no reason to because they were all clone copies made from a clone army.

P.S I've been trolling with the last two posts I apologize, if they uh didn't you know fit in. I thought I'd act like a dense mofo and make life a little more of a struggle for you. :)

Not sure why everyone's claiming Grom is MVP. It's not like Thrall didn't smash his men and defeat Grom himself to where then after used shamans and various other magic users to purge the demonic corruption he suffered. This doesn't account for his various power ups that Grom didn't really receive due to being dead so....

Judging from what @wut has posted Teclis would the biggest MVP, however since he's not here that would fall onto Malekith. I don't know how good he is as my Warhammer fantasy is somewhat limited, but he'd have to be pretty powerful to be equal to Thrall.

Army wise I'd pick the WC side, due to various weaponry, magic, and unity on their side. High elves, dark elves, and wood elves are all very different and basically different species that don't work together often, not as often as the horde and alliance do, so I'd place their unity under the horde and alliance's own ability to work together.

Overall I feel this would be a close fight, but I'm personally siding against the elves due to the Alliance/Horde's various ways to put down the elves and better leadership/unity.
