Thor with Stormbreaker Vs. Thanos (with Power Stone)

Thor. I mean he basically one shotted Thanos with the whole IG. Maybe we could theorize that with the reality gem or something he could beat Thor by wiping him from existence but I don't see him doing it with just the power gem.

Thanos could win if he played smart but it's not his strong suit in MCU, surprisingly.

I'm going with Thor overall.

@amcu: He literally did the exact opposite of that. Thor never one shotted Thanos if it was one v one and Thanos was actually concentrating on Thor rather then his goal then Thor would've been wiped stormbreaker or not. He could've easily healed himself with the gauntlet yet he didn't.

Thor never one shotted Thanos

He embedded his axe deep into Thanos's chest, horribly damaging him and was going to kill him if it weren't for the finger snap and than Thanos running away. The only reason Thanos survived is because Thor went for the chest.

Thanos concentrated a blast from the IG at Thor and it didn't even slow Stormbreaker down.

@amcu: He didn't one shot Thanos. He was still alive and had it been Thanos Vs thor he would've snapped Thor away before he could even have the chance to launch the storm breaker. Thor would never been able to do that in a 1v1 where thanos is actually focusing on fighting Thor.

Also about the concentrated blast thing it was probably a blast from one gem all the gems don't work like that, he could've easily did a illusion like he did before had he wanted to.

How do you know that all the gems don't work like that? The mind gem was able to fire a blast of energy even though it's only a mind stone. And the blast Thanos used was made up of all the colors of the Infinity Stones IIRC.

tahnos didn't had anything impressive with the gem to say he can one shot thor while thor does and he has flight advantage plus better AOE range, thor also has a considerable advantage in close while thanos cant afford to lift his arm and fire at him cuz thor will swing first.

thor can't beat a planet buster and from the leaks thanos seems to be above all the avengers (except captain marvel) without any stones

People are dumb Thanos almost died with a whole gauntlet... he only lived because other stones soul, time, and reality could have easily healed him

On that part he just got the final gem and got hit by the lightning, it was a quick response, not the full power of all the gems combined, had it been a beam of all the gems combined it would've disintegrated storm breaker along with Thor.

The Russos have confirmed that Thor could have killed Thanos with a head shot....btw

Let's not get crazy and make things up, it was clearly a rainbow colored blast from the multiple colors of each gem.

You could also visibly seem each gem glowing and emitting energy during the blast.

@deathunlimited1: false Thanos was focused on Thor long enough to utilize ALL.the gems in a focused blast that didn't stop Storm breaker. He was also dying and would be bdead without the time gem, hence why he said should have went for the head. Also confirmed by the writers of the movie as said post above shows. @gamer-guy: That's funny because h did already beat him with one shot. If thanos didn't have the time gem he'd be dead. Storm breaker is a universal weapon made to kill Thanos level foes.

The screen writers pretty much confirmed that Strombreaker slices through the power of the Infinity Gauntlet and that it is similarly powerful because it's made by the same person.

As long as the blast hits stormbreaker, Thor wins otherwise thanos obliterates him

Stormbreaker is powerful but more powerful then an Infinity Stone that can casually destroy planet? No

The way people casually ignore facts on this sit is amazing.

Thor for now. Although I hope we will see what Thanos is truly capable of in Avengers 4 when he actually uses all 6 gems and relies on their versatility.

We've seen Thanos use the power stone to fight multiple times, and he mainly punches or shoots beams with it. We've seen Thor overpower the power of the infinity stones in a blast. Russo's have said Thanos would have died if Thor wasn't blinded by vengeance.

Stormbreaker overpowered a beam from the Infinity Gauntlet with all 6 Stones and then sliced right into Thanos’ chest all from a simple throw. Just the Power Stone? Yeah, Thor’s got a damn good chance.

I HATE how the movie portrayed Thanos.... I HATE even more how they depowered/nerfed/utterly disrespected The IG. Now casual comic fans(which seems to be EVERYBODY) thinks Thanos is a b!tch and Thor has a weapon that can over power the IG. Sometimes the movie should mimic the comic.

Well, the Vine is now 80% CBM fans and 20% comic fans. And i even think that's a bit of a stretch for comic fans.

How so? He basically won by snapping his finger. He recovered his wound and killed half of the galaxy, Thor couldn't do anything about it.

With only Power gem Thanos isn't going to withstand Stormbreaker's strike, Thor with ease.

That would be stupendously impressive. It would place it far above how I have been rating it in the battle forums. Regardless of what you think about Strombreaker's piercing ability It would still pretty much be a one shot weapon against the people Thor is placed against just due to its force.
