Thor vs Green Lantern

Thor's weapon: His hammer.

Green Lantern's weapon: Power Ring controlled by will power.

The location is a massive unoccupied metro city.

Morals are on.

Not a fight to the death but a fight to a weakened state where the other person isn't a threat.

Who would win? Why?

Not a mismatch whatsoever. Also, "Thor stomps Green Lantern easily" is not a compelling argument to back up your case.

Though Hal isn't the fasted, he's still a good amount faster than Thor, so that gives him an upper hand. Plus, if Hal's shields are at they're best, they should be able to hold a morals on Thor long enough for him to make a move. It's a close fight, but I'll give it to Hal for the slight majority.

BTW, this has been done many times before.

Thor is gonna destroy him...there is no way GL can beat him. Whether they are movie versions or comic versions.

Thor, superior attack and GL cant hurt thor before thor can hurt GL.

Thor cannot lose this. If he even gets close to losing he'll be driven into Warrior's Madness causing him to abandon his code of not relying on Mjolnir to defeat his opponents, drain the ring's energy and absolutely murderstomp the human.

I suppose I'm at fault for that too, I thought the OP said fight to the death, not "not a fight to the death". In that case Thor would fight per usual and I suppose I have to cede to comicvine's consensus of Hal winning

well, he would be mroe than able to KILL Green Lantern even more so in WM.

I'd say that the Green Lantern can do it, since he is faster than Thor (Thor's a powerhouse, not a speedster), and can react faster, as well as having the ability to replicate a gigantic amount of attacks and weapons with his ring, and Thor just has lightning bolts. Movie Thor has already been shown to not do well against forcefields and energy blasts/powerful physical attacks, as he was only barely winning against Iron Man; Iron Man was putting some hurt on Thor before Thor started damaging his suit. He can't deflect energy blasts, and he's not a skilled fighter; he basically goes "HAMMER SMASH!" or "lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!"

Green Lantern's got this.

If it's comics Thor then maaaaaaaaaybe not lol. Like, definitely not. Like, Green Lantern will get vaporized by lightning instantly. I think. To be honest I don't know much about comics Thor :(

Yeah, but, the point I was trying to make was that he wouldn't go into WM.

Anyone who says this is a curbstomp is biased. Thor may very well win, but Green Lantern has proven to be up there with powerhouses such as Mongul Sr. and Lobo. To say Thor blitzes him or that GL can't even damage Thor is ridiculous.

Undecided. Want to see some actual arguments besides Thor stomps because he is a god.

I think Thor is stronger than Hal's will power,,thus negating his constructs, making Thors job much easier,,the might of mjolnir combined with this should bring a win Thors way,,,but in no way is this a stomp,,it would take a lot of strength to overcome Hal's will,but Thor and the power of mjolnir should do it IMHO

Mainstream GL would get ROFLStomped, for sure. However, Kingdom Come Hal would probably hold his own in this fight. He made, and sustain an entire city in existence indefinitely. That takes alooooot of will. Maybe even enough to take down Thor. Maybe. That being said, using Kingdom Come GL against Mainstream Thor(since there really isn't an equivalent) seems like power gaming. Thor would win.

jk Thor, but in all honesty if Hal's sheilds are good enough it could stalemate, I don't see lightning effecting him too much but the hammer may give a majority win. But if Hal gets creative :D...

Hal's shields protected him when he was close to the sun, that's the best durability feat of the two., for movie versions. I didn't think comic Hal was that fast, what are his speed feats?

Thor fights beings by himself that would make Hal run back to Oa for backup. Thor stomps.

If Hal fights smart, this could go either way. Green Lantern has the speed advantage. I'm leaning towards Thor, but it will be far from easy, and whoever wins will be severely drained.

Which version of the characters also matters. Pre-crisis Hal Jordan takes this IMO.

I feel this is a true stalemate. Each one has their advantages. And since its morals on & in character, neither one go to the lengths to win.

If I had to pick, id say GL probably just because he has more ways to win/ stop his opponent.

thor wins this with no real trouble. Light constructs are pretty useless to someone strong enough to break them

I give it to Thor, it's highly debatable and it could go either way. But I think it's Thor I mean Wonder Woman was able to smash through Hal's constructs and then she pounded on him using ONLY brute strength, Thor's strength is comparable to hers and Black Adam has beaten him too and Black Adam is actually quite similar to Thor in terms of powers/Abilties.

In general DC is stronger than Marvel, but there just a few Marvel characters that can hang against DC heavyweights...Thor is one of those guys.
