Ya'll are all fucking stupid to think Marvel Thor would beat DC Ares. Ares is one of the most powerful gods of the DC Greek Pantheon, second only to Zeus himself though even then it can be debatable. Ares in DC comics is a master manipulator and magic user, though he's proven time and time again that he has no problems using his fists to do the talking. One of Ares' greatest strengths is his ability to feed of the energy created by conflict and war, thus making him stronger. Any war or conflict only serves to fuel his power. Ares at his base level would be pretty even with Thor, but the longer the fight goes on the more power he would get until he'd simply break Thor's neck with a simple backhand. The only reason why Wonder Woman has ever been able to defeat Ares is because their fights have consisted of battles of morals and philosophies. On the few occasions where Ares and Wonder Woman have gotten into actual brawls Ares has curb stomped Diana into the ground without even trying. Ares' only real weakness is the power of love and compassion as well as his own overconfidence, and he is truly immortal in the sense that he can never truly die. His physical body can be killed but he'll always come back, but you'd have to be incredibly lucky to get even close to hurting him seeing as his armour is virtually indestructible and he has absolute telekinetic command of every weapon in existence as well as being a master user of all of them. In that regard Mjolnir wouldn't be able to do much against Ares seeing as he could simply manipulate it with his mind. Not only is Ares a deadly warrior (arguably the best fighter in all of DC seeing as he's the literal God of War and practically invented it) but he's one of the best strategists and tacticians in all of DC. He always thinks ten steps ahead of everyone else and on top of that he's a master manipulator, he'd probably get in Thor's head and make him do something stupid which he could capitalise on. Ares is also, while primarily a Wonder Woman villain is considered one of the greatest threats in the DC multiverse because other gods from multiple pantheons fear him. He also possesses the ability to shape-shift and can teleport, turn invisible and is a necromancer on top of being able to control the weather as well because he's the son of Zeus. Thor's no pushover, and the start of the fight it would be pretty even but the more drawn out the fight is, the more powerful Ares gets
