vs
Random encounter. Who wins?
@beaconofstrength: Powerful enough that Dr. Fate admitted The Spectre would have difficulty beating him. And other things like his shadow-mass devouring asteroids and small planets.
Neron also offered him more power, which Shade basically scoffed at, saying "And how would you improve my powers? Make my shadow blacker? More shadowy? Be serious."
@xiix: the spectre can beat powerful magic users, but if he encounters a cosmic power user of the same level, he will have more difficulty. basically he can just leech the magic from magical beings, but with cosmic beings or elementals or such, and with weak hosts, he I'll have to fight them using his own host limited powers.
I'm thinking ole Dickey has this one in the bag. As powerful as Strange is, The Shade is infinitely more ruthless and cunning.
@those_eyes: Shade was a Golden Age Flash Villain IIRC - he then appeared in some Starman stuff & became more of an Anti-Hero.
He's super powerful & seemingly immortal - he can create monsters from shadows, teleport through different dimensions, stuff like that.
Once his 'darkness' was able to cover an entire planet - it was pretty cool.
He's got tons of power behind him - and he's really snarky haha
@thetruebarryallen: Damn, why do they make him such a chump when he's animated?
@thetruebarryallen: Damn, why do they make him such a chump when he's animated?
I have NO idea!
@van_cere: I agree. But it's still an outstanding testament to The Shade's abilities, because even as far as raw-power(and exempting being able to simply "leech" the energy out of someone) The Spectre is in one of the uppermost tiers. Which was basically Fate's point: "That even someone as badass as The Spectre would have to put in work to take him down".
@van_cere: Nah I don't think would have as much as trouble dealing with beings that are not magical. I don't consider Spectre to be a purely magical being. He is actually a part of God, and that includes both cosmic and magic.
@xiix: pfft there is nerfing and then there power raping, Shade got raped
@sithlantern93: If I'm remembering correctly, The Spectre has been referred to as a being of magic(by either Shazam or Nabu. I believe it was the latter, while trying to point out the lunacy of him trying to eradicate all arcane forces during Day of Vengeance).
But anyway, his point was that he has a particular advantage against beings powered by magic, as opposed to other means. Whereas he can sap the power from the former, he has to take the old fashioned route of down and out overpowering/beating the crap out of cosmic beings and the like, instead of simply taking their power from them.
@sithlantern93: he is, but he is also his own man. being part of god does not mean you have all his abilities to a minimum.
@xiix: Batgod Baby
@ordinaryalan: From what I gather, it rather depends on the potency. So a top tier-"elemental" power should be able to beat a lower-rung magic user/power, and vice versa. My own theory based off of that particular scan.
@xiix: That makes sense. So, that would imply that current strange would lose to The Shade but Classic Strange would win due to his superior magical ability, yes?
@ordinaryalan: If the force in question is indeed more powerful, I don't see why not(barring extenuating circumstances, of course)............
@van_cere: I am not implying that he has all of God's abilities to an extent (Actually he does to an extent, when Jordan owned a Jokerized version of Parallax with the perspective the Logoz offered bu that is not the point). I just implied that when you are a part of something that is everything, you can have a bit or possess a bit of everything that makes God everything. Yes is he is own being but so Lucifer,Michael and The Word. They are aspects of God too in my opinion, since each represent a quality of God like will and power. @xiix: Because we have not seen him absorbing the power of a non magical. When he fought Zero Hour Parallax and Anti Monitor, he psychically involved himself. In my opinion that is not to say that he could not absorb or drain their powers like he did to magical beings and dimensions in DOV.
@sithlantern93: actually, takion is proof against that. he has the abilities of highfathers staff and minor cosmic awareness, but the guy can only wield the sources infinite energies, he can't use magic, reality warping, and stuff that the source can do.
the word is not an aspect. he is a bit like LT, only he kills beings that are far more powerful than what spectre goes up against in his spare time. gods executioner.
Shade stomp, (take this as you will, i am a shade fanboy he is the reason i started to read comics. )
Lots of people seem to think Shade's got this, but i've read very little of him outside of the scans posted here, so based on what little knowledge i have this doesn't seem like a stomp. Strange is a magical beast himself, after all. Shade does seem very powerful, though.
Man Dr. Strange Magic is not to be underestimated
Yeah but The Shade isnt even on the same level as Strange
@brenster21: oh good. then can you post some feats for him?
@brenster21: oh good. then can you post some feats for him?
sure why not
when everyone's powers in the DC universe were destroyed his remained
shade's power was able to decimate planets
now with prep this is what he did
him fighting black lantern
i think that is suffice to say the least, also he is immortal, can teleport and time travel, and has beaten the Egyptian gods in a fight.
this is all from star man i did not use any other comics for this post.
When I saw Shade I thought Durza from Eragon :/
when were the durza called the shade? i havent read those books in years.
@brenster21: thanks, with one correction: not everyone's.
