@zetsu-san: Has the Mind Flayer gotten any feats on S4?

No, I’m only 4 episodes in, but I don’t think he’ll be making any appearances this season.

@zetsu-san: Does the Mind Flayer have any combat feats? I don't remember him doing anything aside from controlling people and maybe scaling from the other monsters.

The flesh monster in season 3 was the Mind Flayer trying to grow it’s body in the physical world. So it should really have all those feats, but it’s bigger.

Yea, but it’s not like there was any visible damage. Plus that thing was way smaller and weaker than the full body.

@andromeda1001: Mind Flayer is sensitive to heat which is why the fireworks were able to bother it. Also I imagine it's shadow body is more powerful than its flesh body but I'm unsure by how much.

It's also officially weak to fire.

I don't think the Demodogs are a natural part of the Mind Flayer though, since one of them clearly had it's own mind and was able to bond with Dustin. I think the Mind Flayer is less a natural hive mind and more just the most powerful thing in the Upside Down and has psychically taken over.

@akz: I assumed the fire weakness, is shared by all the creatures in the Upside Down. I think the writers had the heat weakness in mind, when they made the heroes use fireworks as their weapon.

@akz: The Mind Flayer demonstrates a weakness to heat/ fire. Remember how the got him out of Will and used the Sauna to investigate Billy when he was possessed. Will even says he doesn't like the heat in season 2. I'm pretty sure they mention that point while about to go up against the flesh mind flayer as well though I'm not positive on it.

The lab even used fire to stop the growth of the portal so it seems to just be an upside down weakness in general.
