No, not really! From what i've read, I believe this story to be more about Doom than the FF. within the first two issues of this (only?) four issue story, the FF have only appeard a few pages, most of it has been Doom, about him and his Master, who obviously wasn't very pleased with his pupils efforts as a villain of the last twenty years since Doom left his tutilage. I'm sure Doom's survived worse than Meggladonns!

The Primal Monitor first saw the DCU as a germ to him and Sent Dax Novu(the original monitor) aka Mandrakk to probe it and give him information on this germ. Once he got to the bleed(what keeps all the DCU's universes linked together)he started to feel the evil and feed on the stories of the multiverse as they grew. Making him strong..and The only person that could beat him was Cosmic Armor Superman..Using a Plot Device armor created by Mandrakk himself and his story(The greatest one of them all) to beat him
Of course..At the end of Final Crisis Mandrakk was literally beyond any forms Punishment from anything..Besides the Primal Monitor..The only way Superman was able to finish The second Mandrakk was by literally wishing for an end to his great story via the Mirale Machine by wishing it for a happy ending

That doesn't matter Mandrakk was weakened by Superman's great story, Alexander Luthor said everything comes from Superman..Including possibly the greatest superhero story known to man.

Mandrakk, the Dark Monitor
-feasts on all kinds of life force (the blood of universes, the Spectre's lifeforce, etc.) -can only be destroyed, it seems, in destined battles, like against Superman (the ultimate hero) or the Supermen of the Multiverse -seems to be above most conventional harm, as he is from outside the Multiverse itself, making him alike unto Marvel's Living Tribunal -is described by silver Metron as a "menace greater than Darkseid" -beat the Spectre -can make vampire minions of those who join him (Ultraman being the only real example) -can possess another Monitor who is willing, like Rox Ogama -can only descend into the Multiverse at the Great End, when all is broken and destroyed (not a bad job for the Marquis....) -seems to be poisonous -shoots electricity
Also Mandrakk has an army of wretched evil shadows, creatures, and giant black warships, approximately 70 miles long. These are basically ignored in Final Crisis 7, however. So much for the Ultimate Battle.
I don't see how anyone could beat a reality-warping Mutant with complete mastery over time and space who can take literally total control over beings like Eternity, Galactus, Thanos, Odin, (who were all seen being used by the younger Clyde Wyncham), Ego, Master Hate, Mistress Love (who looks as if she is expecting...I didn't know Abstracts could physically have children...odd) and use them as weapons against his enemies.
