wait... what???
Superman - along with Batman - is the reason why the comic industry developed the way it did. Someone once said that every other costumed hero is in some way derived from those two. When Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created Spider-Man, why do you think they gave him a Red and Blue costume? It wasn't because Spiders are red and blue! It was because they knew some young readers were attracted by Superman's colourful costume and they wanted to tap into that market. Not that I'm suggesting that was th esole reason for Spider-Man's popularity, It was just a good marketing ploy.

This is not true. Spider-Man doesnt have Heat Vision, X-Ray Vision, Freeze Breath, Super Speed, that allows him to travel at the speed of light nor does he have Super Strength, that allows him to lift at least 200,000 tons. But Superman does.

Me neither.I think there is an even medium now.Between his fanboys and people who absolutely hate him..it's a pretty even number. The in-between people make up a large percentage as well.

Actually, Spiderman was created to be sort of the opposite of Superman and Batman. He was one of the 1st if not the first character to be a teenager and have real life problems as opposed to most of the other Supermen and Crime-fighting detectives superheroes; but it's true that without Superman or Batman, there wouldn't have been any model to go against so in the end, I guess, Supes and Bats are the "Adam and Steve" (nohomo) of superheroes.
