Kit Fisto wins. He was able to push Grievous and could of possibly won. The Grand Inquisitor lost to Kanan.

Grievous was gimped and Fisto still avoided fighting him head on

My Star Wars-less self knows that Fisto stomps.

@kbroskywalker:

Grievous wasn't really pushing Fisto back in their first encounter, and if anything their second encounter was on more even footing since it was on an open platform. Though I agree Fisto isn't really better than Grievous, I just think they are about even. On the ranking scale I would put them both at 7, while I would put the grand inquisitor and season 2 Kanan at like a 6.

How was he gimped, and how did he avoid fighting him head on? Fisto seemed pretty confident to me.

The novelization makes it clear that Grievous was in no condition to fight. His medical droid said as much, and it was even stated there was black smoke coming from his armour. Thats from the novel The Clone Wars: Grievous Attacks!

Wollfmyth does the whole debunk in this thread. He explains it better than I can

Kit Fisto's experience against General Grievous would leave him more than able to deal with the Grand Inquisitor. He could be incredibly fast, and (perhaps I'm misremembering) I seem to recall Obi-Wan, in The Cestus Deception, observing how Fisto fought in a wild and unpredictable style. A fighting style like this would presumably be much harder for the Grand Inquisitor to anticipate and exploit (as he could with Kanan's Form III).

@emperor339: Jerec aside, there were also a lot better Inquis than these Canon ones...in both power and personality, the GI gets the smallest of passes personality wise, but the others are about as interesting as watching paint dry.

@wolfrazer: Why? They are actually quite powerful in the Force. And what have Legends Inquisitors done that is so special?

@wolfrazer:

I'm not incredibly familiar with other Legends inquisitors.

I looked it up online but all I see everywhere are sites talking about the Canon Inquisitors. Is there a place I can find info on them?

In the mean time, I'll still make a Jerec battle thread.

@zapan871: Another question for another thread and yeah they are powerful, but they also are just...bland.

@decaf_wizard: Is that novel canon? It kind of seems like it was written by a Grievous fan (wouldn't be surprised since it's a Grievous book) and he just wanted an explanation on why his favorite character did so poorly.

Im not positive if its canon. Its a TCW book though, and has the "official" Star Wars label

Even in the episode, his droid said he wasn't in a good condition to fight.

He was a Jedi Knight who trained under Drallig and then was personally chosen by Vader to be the Grand Inquisitor. Even though the Grand Inquisitor has a great resume, he wouldn't be able to defeat Master Fisto, Jedi Council member.

If it is officially licensed pre-Disney, then it was c-canon. Although it is not new canon, most of these vs battles aren't as fun if you can't use Legends.

Recently, there were RT's created for a couple Legends Inquisitors. I can't remember who made them, but maybe @darthbane77 does. ??? They have impressive feats.

Even though Grievous wasn't at full health, dueling against him and coming out ultimately on top is more impressive than losing to Kanan, even if I don't consider Kanan to be as terrible a duelist as a lot of people do.

I really wish Fisto had gotten more than a single saber duel in Clone Wars, though. Without Legends feats it's almost impossible to debate for him without relying entirely on his Grievous fight.

Kit Fisto wins but the Grand Inquisitor definitely puts up a good fight, the sheer magnitude of his feats (through dominating Kanan) is pretty impressive and he logically advanced massively when becoming the GI through studying the Jedi Archives amongst other things.

Bump Leaning GI assuming canon. Fisto doesn't really have any great feats besides beating a very early, explicitly stated to be not master level, Grievous. The Grand Inquisitor has better feats and much better scaling.

Fisto is very underrated.

His saber skills were only surpassed by Mace Windu and Yoda himself.
