Welcome to the Armstrong Academy

No Caption Provided

Arrival at the Academy (Introducing: Armstrong!)

Today is a big day in Paragon City, as young hopefuls from around the world find themselves gathering at the gates of the Armstrong Academy for the chance at becoming the next generation of heroes, should they pass the entrance exam. Along with all the potential students, a large crowd of onlookers have gathered for the chance to spot some of their favorite professional heroes who've joined the ceremony, either as faculty, or to potentially scout their future side-kicks. It's truly a sight to behold and is one of the most exciting times to be in Paragon.

As students arrive they're ushered into an organized area in which they can view the ceremony to come. There we see hundreds of young heroes making friends, showing off their powers, and blowing off nervous energy.

Suddenly, an anthem begins to play, the crowd grows silent, all looking towards the front entrance of the Academy. The outline of a large figure stands at the top of the steps and their voice cuts through the crowd.

Armstrong: Who is ready to meet the heroes of tomorrow, today?

The crowd is silenced, but you can all feel an energy rippling through them. The figure walks forward to reveal Alexander Armstrong, a massive ape in a fine tailored suit. On his face, a wide-grin that stretches from ear to ear.

Armstrong: I said... WHO IS READY TO MEET THE HEROES OF TOMORROW, TODAY?!!!

The crowd begins to cheer, through the chaos of their wild energy a chant begins to form.

Crowd: ALWAYS FIGHTING! ARMSTRONG! ALWAYS WINING! ARMSTRONG! HE'S OUR HERO! HE'S... ARMSTRONG!

Armstrong lets out a large, belly-laugh to the chant and flexes at the crowd. They cheer more in response which results in more laughter from the large man. As this continues more heroes step down from the entrance, joining Armstrong, and the crowd reacts accordingly.

Crowd: Look! It's Headspace! She's my favorite! I'd let her read my mind anyday!

Crowd: Is that Jet Jaguar? Oh my god it is! He smiled at me! Did you see that? Jet Jaguar smiled at me!!!!

Crowd: Living Transcript is such a dreamboat and he has the coolest powers! That's right! Go Living Transcript!

Crowd: The Metropolitan AND Terror Raptor?! I HAVE YOUR POSTERS ON MY WALL

The professional heroes smile at the crowd and play into their entrances, Headspace keeps her intimidating glare held strong on her face, Jet Jaguar continues posing and flexing, the Metropolitan fires off a rocket into the sky and Terror Raptor waves enthusiastically. This could continue forever, but we don't have the time for that, and neither does Armstrong, and so...

Armstrong: Young heroes! You stand before me in hopes that one day, you will stand beside me! In battle! Saving the world! I can tell that many of you are fostering a burning spirit and you want to let it out! Isn't that right?!!

Several of your classmates respond with joy and passion, some of them even try playing to the crowd like the professionals did.

Armstrong: HAH-HA! GOOD! However, before we can begin, we must take you inside for a written exam, as every good hero needs a strong head on their shoulders!

He looks down at you all and you swear he's making eye-contact with each and every one of you.

Armstrong: If you can prove you're tough enough mentally then we put you into the practical exam! There you'll enter a simulated city in the midst of a disaster. Inside you'll find foes designed by the technological hero... UPGRADE! Defeat as many of them as you can while keeping the city safe to prove that you've got what it takes to be a student at the ARMSTRONG ACADEMY! Show us your fighting spirit! Become a hero of tomorrow, today!!!!

The crowd lets out another loud cheer and the to the Academy open. Several of the Pro Heroes such as The Metropolitan, Headspace and UPGRADE usher you inside, smiling at you and encouraging you as you enter. You're guided to a large lecture hall, given a pencil and a test, and then take a seat.

Once you're seated The Metropolitan takes the stage.

The Metropolitan: Answer the questions as honestly as you can. Don't hold back, okay? Once you're finished, hand them in to me. When everyone has completed this portion of the exam we'll send you into the simulated city to begin part two.

He waits at the front, overseeing the exam. It's time for you to begin!

The Entrance Exam (Written Portion)

All of the exam questions are essay questions, no multiple choice, no true or false. You can tell that they really want to learn more about who you are and why you're here.

At the top of the test, written in big letters, is an order -- NO CHEATING.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Once you're finished, head to the front of the lecture hall and hand your exam to The Metropolitan. There is a waiting area for you to sit in when you're done, you can chat with other students who've also finished.

Trevor wasted no time writing down his responses. Every question is something he had already considered before. He took special care to sit away from other students and cover his answers to prevent any cheating from occurring, as the label at the top of the sheet was very clear.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

When I fight it's done mostly through simple brute force, though I do have a natural talent for grapples. Thanks to my toughness I can also act as a physical shield for those who need protecting.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Very strong, very tough. My abilities may not be flashy but raw physical superiority never goes astray in a fight.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I'll reluctantly continue to help with evacuation duty. The only time this would change is if the other heroes were in serious danger and I had to step in to save them.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

It depends. The thing I care most about is protecting the people who can't protect themselves - if that means prolonging the fight and taking more damage myself than that's what I'll do, and if it means ending the fight quickly at the expense of damaging the surrounding area then that's what I'll do. I'm happy to accept the consequences for either.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

The only thing I fear is not being strong enough to protect the people around me.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Well I've never really been hurt since my powers first surfaced, but I expect that to change if I make it into this school. I believe my toughness is my greatest attribute and would want to continue to increase it as much as possible, so some type of accelerated healing would be extremely useful. I don't have a least favourite power, as any power can be useful in the right hands.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Because other people aren't as fortunate as me. They need protecting and I have the power to do so. I want to save everyone.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Alone. The less risk of anybody other than me getting hurt, the better.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Like I said earlier, my toughness is my greatest asset. Hopefully I could take the hits for other heroes to make their job easier.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Go back to fighting gangs on the street I suppose, but I'll never stop trying to get stronger until I can be a true hero.

He calmly walked towards the front of the lecture hall and handed in his exam, before stepping in to the waiting room. He was certainly not looking forwards to having to converse with other students, but he was curious to see what kinds of powers they possessed, and just how strong his potential schoolmates would be.

Arfuna looked around at all the new students and the professors on the stage. They were certainly excited. When he got to the classroom, he wasted no time in answering the questions. The sooner he got some action, the better.

  1. Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?
    1. I'm a lawful neutral/neutral good kind of guy. The safety of the people is important, but so is taking down the threats. So long as there's action, I'm there.
  2. Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?
    1. I make stuff. Good stuff. Then I throw it. Really well. I got this thing in me, too. Forcefields, energy discharge, limited magnetism, the works. Combine all of that, and you get a crazy mid/long range fighter with some decent versatility.
  3. Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?
    1. I can probably do both. With my accuracy, I can ricochet things onto foes and the like while helping people get to safety.
  4. Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?
    1. Why not a bit of both? Minimize the damage, but minimize the threat. There's no reason to go with just one. If one is to be picked, though, human lives are more important than some buildings. So saving the day.
  5. Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?
    1. The type of villain who stops at nothing. And bunny rabbits. Those things are the worst.
  6. Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?
    1. Powers are boring. Who needs powers? Skills > Powers, always. My least favorite power... I don't really have one. I can make anything work.
  7. Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?
    1. Help the people, protect the little man. There are people in danger everywhere, many places without heroes, and that's where I want to go.
  8. Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?
    1. A team. We keep each other safe, cover each other's weaknesses, and get work done far faster than we would alone.
  9. Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?
    1. Throwing things. You give me anything, and I can throw it. I'm also kind of a genius, so people come to me for help with things.
  10. Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?
    1. Be disappointed and try again next year.

Arfuna wanted to take his time, but he couldn't. The excitement was a bit much. He wanted to prove himself in a real arena, not some diddly-arfed written exam.

He quickly filled in everything and gave it to The Metropolitan.

@thetruebarryallen:

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

A: I'm not a hero, the closest thing I've done to hero work is save a cat from a tree.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

A: I Don't really consider it to be a power but my laugh is so annoying that it can physically hurt people, crazy right? Anyway, I'm hoping that I can control this better.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

A: Well my laugh would probably hurt the people I'm evacuating since again, can't control it. So I would just evac.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

A: My Dad was a lawyer so the second one.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

A: Any villain that uses a deadly weapon like a knife or gun or just someone with powers scares me. If they had omnipotent powers I would be more scared though.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favourite power?

A: Telekinesis for sure, hands-free combat man. I hate powers that don't protect you, sorta like amine currently

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

A: I just want to be a good person, not really a hero type.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

A: I hate working, but working in teams is easier.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

A: I dunno.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

A: Go see a doctor, get my throat checked.

Frail and skinny looking Broken Bownes takes the pencil and paper, and takes the nearest seat, while trying hard to avoid eye contact with anyone. It takes him less than a minute to finish the test, as giving exams was always one of his strengths, even before he got his powers. He submits his paper, and walks down the hallway, facing downwards. He catches a glance of some strong looking guys sitting there, and he sits as far away from them all as possible, then covers his face with his hands and waits for the results

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I am not a hero, and I am not about style. I am someone who has suffered tragedies. I came here because Mr Armstrong's cousin convinced me that I should give the life another chance.

I have helped people once with my powers though. During an investigation which I was working on when I was an intern to a law firm, the house we were in collapsed, possibly due to someone's plan. I helped my fellow investigators get out by holding a structure to keep it from falling on top of them.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

I have not tested my powers much so I don't know their limits. But from what I know, I am very strong, I have lifted cars over my head. And I am very hard to damage, fell off 200 feet with just scratches. I am also nearly immortal. I can regenerate myself and heal from damage. I healed a broken knee in seconds. Ever since I got my powers, it looks like I can heal from nearly any damage.

In addition to that, I have trained in combat with a great fighter, and I know some good fighting techniques, including the knowledge of human pressure points.

My powers can be very useful. My strength allows me to hold heavy structures, so I can help save people from faling objects (like mentioned in previous question), or I can carry multiple people on my back away from dangerous places. My healing factor allows me to go on more dangerous missions without the risk of dying.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I do not have any preference set in my mind, so it might depend on the situation. But I would much rather prefer to save people than fight unless the villain is threatening people, in which case I will go for the villain.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Whatever saves more lives. Whatever saves more lives of people who have nothing to do with this senseless war.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

I have never faced any kind of "supervillains" as most of heroes around here, but it is life, and the dark side of humanity that scares me. I have been a victim of life several times. I have been victim of losing loved ones to senseless wars which they had nothing to do with.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

I wish I could go back in time and stop that fire in my house that killed my parents, so time travel.

I do not have a "least favourite" power. But I am not sure if I like my healing power. I have failed to kill myself many times due to it, and it doesn't decrease the pain and suffering I go through.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

I do not know. I want to give life a third chance. I would want to prevent someone from experiencing tragedies like I did.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

I would prefer working alone. I am ugly, people dont' like to talk to me, and I am equally as afraid to talk to people. When I see a beautiful girl nearby, I'm afraid to look at her so as not to scare it away. And even if someone cares to talk to me, I cannot hold a conversation. I become awkward, I freeze sometimes. I run out of words, I stumble and slutter. I cannot think of something to say.

But I have worked with teams, such as during my internship, I have gone to investigations with teams. I talked and coordinated with them.

But once I get "comfortable" with someone, I am very open with talking to them. I will share all my secrets and do my best to help them even if it hurts me.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

I am not sure if the other heroes will want to work with someone as ugly and shy as me, but my strength and nearly inability to die can be great asset almost everywhere. I have also worked on some investigations and picked up some skills.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Probably trying to kill myself.

@thetruebarryallen:

Tadashi Hamada was awed by the spectical. His heart was racing and he couldn't help getting caught up in the emotion of it all. He had read about all the heroes he was seeing before him right now, and Armstrong - he was even more inspiring in person than Tadashi could have imagined.

Tadashi listened with a huge grin plastered across his face to the introduction, and his heart leapt when he heard Upgrade was going to be the first test. Upgrade was his favorite hero. This was his moment. This was the beginning of his future as a hero. Tadashi has excited, but very, very nervous.

Tadashi went inside, took a seat, and started filling out his written exam.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Answer: I am a Gadgeteer and Technology Master. I use my gadgets and technology and intelligence to undermine and defeat Villains, while saving as many people as possible

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Answer: I have a Super Brain. I understand science, engineering, and robotics to a vast extent. My minds power goes far beyond just scientific understanding, however.

I think this is useful because I can invent gadget and technology that help me fight Villains and save lives.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Answer: I continue the evacuation until all civilians are out of harms ways. Then I return to fight the Villian, if possible.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Answer: Making sure innocent people don't get hurt is the #1 priority. If I know that no innocent people will get hurt in the process, I'd be more incline to cause damage to the surrounding area if it helps me defeat the Villain. That being said, property damage should be avoided when it is possible.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Answer: Magic users. They defy Universal Laws and Scientific Theorems!

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Answer: I wish I had the power of Magnetism. I often wondered if it would be possible to create a combat suit powered by the perpetual motion of the metallic molecules. By off setting the polarity of certain molecules the suit would constantly generate it's own power forever! It is only theoretically possible. Unfortunately, I have not figured out the technology needed to array the polarities in such a manner. But with the power of Magnatism it would become possible!

Part 2 answer: I once saw a villain who could regurgitate bugs that then followed her will. That would have to be my least favorite power.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Answer: Ive looked up to Heroes ever since I was a kid. They are extremely cool, and a force for good in the world. I

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Answer: I would prefer a team as long as it has a well coordinated leader, and a clear chain of command. Having different members with different powers and skills makes a team more prepared for different situations, but if there is no clear leader the effectiveness of the team can be nullified.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Answer: My intelligence is my greatest asset. Other heroes would want to work with me because I bring a wide variety of skills and knowledge that are useful in many situations, as well as cool gadgets.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Answer: Doctor

Tadashi finished his test, and placed the writing utensil down neatly on the desk. He walked up and was about to place his paper onto the pile already on the desk when he noticed that some of the papers were haphazardly thrown onto the pile. Without even thinking about it he straightened the pile of test papers before placing his neatly on top of the pile.

Tadashi then walked in to the next room for the next part of the entrance exam.

P-S4 is bewildered at all energy and pep in the air. So many humans so happy,it reminds P-S4 how great it is to be human or at least as close to one as possible. P-S4 is thinking of trying to "socialize" with one the new students to learn more about human behavior to learn how to be human. But first the written exam is in order. P-S4 strides in with confidence knowing it's knowledge would sufficient however when it realizes that this is more of a personality test . P-S4's programs are thrown for a loop.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Precise and effective

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Abilities are as follows: Detailed martial arts, retractable arms, and a bulletproof/powerful body. With retractable limbs I am able to keep a safe distance away if need be and quickly take down any threat.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Do as I am told. The other heroes are heroes are for a reason the can handle themselves. I must first evacuate the civilians, then help the heroes in applicable.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Neither every situation requires a different strategy. Some need be ended asap, for instance a bomb threat while others such as lowly bank robbers don't need excessive force. One must use the strategy that best fits the situation.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

The ones who have nothing to lose. Who lash out like a wounded beast. Those villains don't act under certain guidelines. Some villains have a code or such, you can work around that reason. But not these, unpredictable, willing to do anything. Also magnets scare me.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

The power of empathy or telepathy, to communicate at a such a primal level and truly understand the other person. As for my least favorite shape shifting or growing extra limbs even powerful regeneration, the unnatural unsightly event of flesh molding and moving in such a way brings what I can only describe is disgust.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Because Humans gave me life, and its my duty to protect, making sure no harm comes their way and even save them from themselves if need be.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Much like before it all depends. A stealth mission is suited for a single person and large battle is best used with a team help ensure victory again it all depends.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

My desire to protect human life. Killing is 99% of the time never the answer only by working with in the best interest of the human race. Other heroes would find me easy to work with.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Take care of my broken brother

P-S4 hands the paper to The Metropolitan after as soon as it finishes. Admiring what a pro hero looks and acts like as she it hands off the paper. Right after P-S4 sits down in the waiting area seeing others come in waiting for a chance to get close to a human

The Waiting Area

No Caption Provided

Those of you who finish your written exams are sent into a waiting room -- inside you find other student's who've finished. Some of them sit calmly, waiting to hear about the next portion of the exam, while others talk about their powers and why they think they're going to be the next professional heroes to graduate from Armstrong Academy.

You see the following people inside the room:

Their names are, as follows:

  • Kyle King
  • Jackson Royce
  • Garth Dulaney
  • AJ Jennings
  • Sophie Van Horn
  • Marianne Chambers

It's well known by everyone that both Kyle and Jackson were hand picked by Armstrong Academy staff to partake in the entrance exam. Jackson is the son of the villain MASTER EXPLODER and Kyle is a professional video-game streamer and online personality.

The others are unknowns, just like most of you.

Along with the students, there is a faculty member overseeing everyone. It is the Professional Hero: ABSOLUTE CRANE! He is well known for his ability to fight with multiple styles and uses a wide variety of different weapons in combat.

No Caption Provided

Feel free to chat with them once you've finished your exam, also, feel free to talk with any player characters who may be in the area, to do so, talk with them in the DISCORD SERVER and I will respond in-character.

Arrival

No Caption Provided

Jenny was bored out of her mind she never did like being in closed spaces. She made peace with the fact that if she were to attend this school she wouldn't be able to spend all of her time outside, still she longed for the freedom to fly. She started paying more attention to Armstrong when he started mentioning exams.

when she received the test and pencil she sat down and began writing

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Answer: The fun yet troubled kind. In all seriousness im not sure if i am a hero i just know that the powers i was born with could be abused. My parents didn't have powers, i want to be able to protect those who don't have powers from being preyed upon by those that do have powers

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Answer: i have a sonic cry which has many uses including regulating my vocal cords so my voice sounds "sweeter" it makes people more likely to side with me. This is useful for a lot of things i can subdue people with deadly force if necessary or i can diffuse situations without anyone getting hurt. I also have the ability to fly making transportation a non-factor

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?
Answer: I evacuate the city... my powers could be more useful saving people who are in danger. At the end of the day saving the lives of the innocent is more important than taking the bad guy down.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Answer: It can depend on the situation ultimately the objective is to save as many lives as possible. If more lives are saved by taking precautions then do that, however if there's a time constraint like a bomb you must act quickly.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Answer: The kind that kills people for fun, there's no reasoning with them there's no rationality. They do it because they can and that's terrifying

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Answer: I already have the power i wish i had, i honestly can't think of what my life would be without flying and i have all the tool necessary to do what i want. My least favorite power is teleportation it just feels useless to me without some other kind of power or enhancement

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Answer: Like i said to protect those who don't have powers.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Answer: No preference if i get the job done better alone then alone, if the job can be done better with a team than we work together. It makes no difference to me.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Answer: you mean besides the ones i was born with? well i guess my versatility i can slot into a bunch of different roles whatever the team needs. Other heroes should work with me because i can support them in many ways

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Answer: Probably keep working with my brother Daryl. it was his idea for me to come here.

Jenny turned her paper in "well that part was easy, something tells me the next part will be much much harder" and she followed the other students who had already finished to the next part of the exam.

When she arrived she saw Jackson Royce and shot him a dagger look "why is he even here, did he think we wouldn't know him? best to avoid him for now." Jenny turned and a woman with glasses (AJ) "Oh my gosh she looks like a total queen" she thought and turned to talk to her.

"Hey I'm Jenny, what's your name?" AJ notices you walking up to her. She turns and greets you with a smile. "Jenny? That's a cute name. I'm AJ! AJ Jennings, nice to meet you."

Jenny smiled back "excellent to meet you AJ, i'm from Bulgaria so i hardly know anyone here. Where are you from" AJ responded "I'm from nearby here. I grew up in Paragon City, but more in the suburban area, not the city part." Jenny spoke again "sounds like you and i are in the same boat then huh?"

Jenny made more small talk with her about her own powers "yeah i figured out i had a sonic cry when my brother Daryl picked me up with one hand, I shouted "LET ME GO" and broke all the windows." Jenny laughed "that sure is one way to learn about your powers huh? Good thing Daryl is super strong and super tough i might have seriously injured anyone else." she turned to AJ "so what is your power?"

AJ responded "My power? Well, it works like this!" She claps her hands and another one of her appears "I can make copies of myself! I'm not sure if I have a limit or anything, but right now I get tired after making 5. I can make more after that, but they get weaker and weaker and if I make too many I knock myself out. What's cool is I can reabsorb the copies and learn everything they learned while they were away!"

Jenny stood in amazement "wow that is super impressive, i swear i am not at all jealous that you can do 5 things at once, man doing homework and studying must be a breeze for you." Jenny hoped she had made a friend with AJ "i like you AJ after these exams are over you and i should meet up again. I think i'll need all the friends i can get."

Fluffy felt a weird sense of Deja-Vu while watching all the events around him unfold. The school itself seemed familiar, but he was sure he had never been there before. Not being able to remember how he knew this place scared him quite a bit, his memory had always been impecable since the day he was born, but he still had a feeling that he had some hidden memories regarding the school.

"Is that one of those mind attacks uncle talked about?", he thought, "I should have brought more countermeasures to that . . ."

Feeling quite helpless, he started filling the formulary.

  • Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Well, that's vague as hell. Guess I'll go with "Precise and meticulous", that should work.

  • Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

"I can electrocute people, and that is useful because electrocuting villains to death makes them stop attacking". Seriously, who wrote this?

  • Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Trick question, I would always go to fight, smh. "I would attack the enemy so that he could be defeated more quickly and the others could help with the evacuation"

  • Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

"Beating them faster. Buildings don't matter if everyone is dead"

  • Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

"Absolutely nothing scares me at all", aside from telepaths and seven headed elephants, those bastards . . .

  • Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

"Being immune to everything would be good. Telepathy is lame as hell, and so are lizard related powers"

  • Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Money and fame . . . "Recognition and the awesome feeling of helping those in need"

  • Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

"With a team. Heroes need sidekicks, after all"

  • Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

"My intelligence is boundless and infinite, while my power is unmatched"

  • Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

"Just do hero work", those damned regulations don't let me get a license, smh.

I only actually write out the parts in bold btw, the rest is in his head

After going to the waiting room, he tries to overhear any conversation around him to get some information without catching much attention

@thetruebarryallen: Peyton looks at the people around him, and for some reason he couldn’t help but find it all absurd, not in a bad way. But he just couldn’t believe that he was here with other super humans with different powers and back stories. He smiled at first, trying not to laugh. But he couldn’t help himself and let out a small laugh to himself, but even that let off a piercing and annoying sound that rang throughout the room.

@thetruebarryallen: Cassandra moves to the corner of the room putting her back to the wall, the school seemed friendly enough but so did most of her customers at first. She kept one eye on the room while she quickly scratched down her answers, her handwriting unfitting one with a computer as their brain.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

"I guess I would be considered a vigilante, I'm not exactly trying to be a hero, just right my wrongs."

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

"I'm mostly machine at this point, I got some skills downloaded directly to my brain from some guy. Must have been a Soldier given what I can do."

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

"I end the fight."

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

"I try to make as little noise as possible, I don't like to be seen."

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

"Humans."

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

"I wish I could shed my humanity completely, become full technology."

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

"I don't know if I do."

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

"I generally prefer working alone or in pairs. I don't like a big group."

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

"I'm the perfect scout."

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

"I couldn't really say, I'm not sure what I'm doing now."

She planted the set of questions back down towards the front and walked to the waiting area.

@thetruebarryallen: Tadashi moves into the room and, not knowing anyone, takes a seat in one of the big leather chairs. He watches the people in the room for a little seeing so many cool people with so many cool powers. Finally he gets up the nerve to go talk to someone. He approaches the girl AJ Jennings and introduces himself.

"Hello miss. My name is Tadashi. Nice to meet you." He says.

@thetruebarryallen: The day had been pretty bad for Rado. First Zoja had taken all of his "energy drinks" and now he had to take some trumped up exam no one had been bothered to tell him about. Nevermind that he never read any of the letters or whatever they sent him. No one actually read those things did they? No buzz left Rado in a horrid mood, but he still did his very best to answer the questions as well as he could.

1. I shoot to kill Handle situations so they never happen again.

2. I can get #$%faced, high, or shot up really well. Can also turn most things into a weapon. Once took out a guy with a pencil.

3. Do the evacuation while sniping him. I can multitask.

4. Always better to get the job done quick. Especially in this line of work.

5. Only thing that scares me is that thing with the weird mop hair. Got cold shivers just looking at it.

6. X-ray vision is a must have. A power's a power. I take what I can get.

7. It was either this or something worse. Might as well try out my sister's old school.

8. Alone.

9. I can be decisive. Though I doubt anyone will want to work with me.

10. Be stuck working for Father.

Rado turned in the exam and crashes on the sofa for some shuteye.

@thetruebarryallen: Nia took a seat near the back of the room and looked at her sheet. She wasn't a huge fan of tests, but at least this one seemed pretty straight forward. Assuming the answers needed to be written in English she breathed a sigh of relief, said a quiet thanks to Western websites for forcing her to learn English to use properly, and began to write her answers.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Nia wasn't quite sure how to respond to this. She'd never been a hero before, after all. She thought back to her uncles forced training regime and winced. Sure, she thought. That could work.

Answer: I leverage my healing abilities and physical prowess to excel in close range combat.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Answer: Accelerated healing and physical strength. Useful for fighting at close range and rescue operations such as lifting rubble.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Nia slightly grimaced. Should she answer honestly or try to look good? What answer would even look good? She eventually accepted her defeat and wrote down the truth.

Answer: Continue with the evacuation. I was put there for a reason and I can't abandon the people I would be leaving behind.

A slight blush appeared on Nia's face as she finished writing. She wasn't lying. That was certainly one of the reasons she'd stay, but she couldn't bring herself to write down the second reason; that she couldn't be bothered going over and fighting if her job was already easier. Her blush momentarily grew heavier as she moved on to the next question.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Answer: A healthy medium between the two. Running in straight away will only cause problems and taking too long gathering information allows more time for bad things to happen.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Huh, villains aren't scary at all? she thought to herself. Are people actually scared of them? Why would they be heroes if they were? Well, that doesn't matter right now. Who does scare her, though? She thought about it for a second before a cold shiver ran down her spine. Her hands lightly shaking from the buried memories of forced huntings and other attempts at developing her vampiric abilities being brought to the surface, she answered with one word.

Answer: Uncle.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Answer: A power that was easy and convenient to use. One that directly interfaces with the internet would be nice. My least favourite power would be an overly complex one that uses lots of energy to use. Matter creation, for example.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Nia looked at Natalya and sighed. It's not like she wanted to be a hero. She didn't have a choice but to come here and play babysitter. But, what father had told her when trying to stop her tantrum still made sense, so she wrote it down.

Answer: Excelling as a hero could change the public perception of vampires, which would be beneficial for my family.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Answer: In a team as it allows me to fill in a supporting role.

Nia blushed again. She couldn't bring herself to write that it would mean she could slack off while her team did the heavy lifting.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Nia looked down at her chest and shook her head. That's probably not what the question meant.

Answer: My greatest asset would be my potential. As a royal vampire, there is an untold number of different abilities that I could develop. Other heroes would want to work with me because my staying power in close quarters allows them a lot of versatility in their actions.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Nia looked towards Natalya again. She wishes she was still at home.

Answer: I would remain at the family estate.

Finishing the test, she handed it in to the hero at the front of the room and made her way to the waiting room before sitting wordlessly off to the side and waiting. She wished she had her laptop with her right now.

1.

Romero, appealing to the crowd, took a battery acid-fuelled battle stance. Hot damn, this is some Bruce Lee sh*t. He took one of the tests and, after blinking away the blurriness in his eyes, managed to pick up a pencil and write a few lines. Thankfully, he was still quite the poet despite his massive loss of neurons.

  • Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I ain't no b*tch.

  • Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

I've got fire hands and a black belt in street karate. I think I don't gotta explain why.

  • Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I'll kick his ass and let one of the other heroes help those fellas get out.

  • Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

I'mma do it fast, unless there's some really cool sh*t nearby.

  • Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

The gay ones.

  • Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

I wish I had shapeshifting. You have no idea how many times I've been pulled over since my skin turned black. And teleporters can bite me, f*cking losers.

  • Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

To retire early as a government employee, what'd ya think.

  • Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Teams, I guess. If you're by yourself, you never know if someone'll steal your kidneys while you're passed out on the street.

  • Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

I'm a doctor, believe it or not, so I can patch you up. Not to mention I've got whatever you need in my pockets.

  • Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Become a self-employed... chemist. Probably.

Walking to the waiting room, he bumped into that one orange fella (@jucaslucasa). You're one ugly muthaf*cka. Terrified by the beast, Romero blew some secondhand smoke his way, hoping he'd get lung cancer.

Introduction to the Academy - H.O.L.M.E.S

No Caption Provided

H.O.L.M.E.S allowed himself to enter sleep mode while the event was getting started only being woken up when registering Principal Armstrong's voice files matches from footage he's seen from him. H.O.L.M.E.S stays silent as he usually does only looking up ignoring the background noise and sounds of other students around him. Understanding the current objective of the written exam, H.O.L.M.E.S follows the crowd and directions of Armstrong and his ilk.

After looking over the "exam" H.O.L.M.E.S uploaded his answers in a nearby terminal that the hero Metropolitan was speaking of for those who felt more comfortable filling it out that way. H.O.L.M.E.S inserted his USB with his uploaded answers in a unrecognizable code to the untrained human eye but the terminal should be able to sort through it.

Written Exam -

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Directive - Solve enigmatic obstacles others cannot.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

  • Data Log - H.O.L.M.E.S posses keen data processing of surrounding and living organisms to help deduct otherwise irrational scenarios
  • Data Log 2 - H.O.L.M.E.S recently fitted with left arm weapon capable of bullets, flamethrower, and missile. Still in testing staged

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Directive clear - Cease all other operations and obey orders.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Preferred Directive of FBPR

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Protocol #2 - Villains capable of corrupting software are most threatening, avoid at all cost

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

N/A

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

Directive given by Creators

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

This unit is better equipped to work alone as programmed in field operations.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Information Gathering

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Return to creators - Continue to support police force.

H.O.L.M.E.S uploads his answers and continues to walk into the designated waiting room shifting into powered down mode as to not waste unnecessary power. He's programmed to respond if and when spoken to directly or a threat is perceived. While powered down H.O.L.M.E.S passively scans the room and those in his view.

The Collector

No Caption Provided

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I was an assassin for a long time, against my will. But nowadays, I like to think of myself as a peace keeper. I always try to collect wayward souls peacefully and with talk; before resorting to violence.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Technically I'm what is called a Collector. A being of the shadow realm. But a more synonymous term for it would be something of a Grim Reaper.

I have learned a lot about dark magic from my father and his studies. And a significant amount more from this cursed sword I carry. But I also know a lot of digital, mechanical, and electrical engineering. Even studies on nanotechnologies, and other technologies that were being experimented on by my mother before...well....you know.

I am a being of shadow, and I walk among the dead as much as the living. I feel I can not only help those living in need; but I can also help those lost souls who also need to obtain peace.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Trust that the other heroes know what they are doing. If I look back and they're failing, I can always assist. No point in evacuating if the bad guy is just gonna catch back up and slaughter people anyway.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Speed is almost always best. The only exception is scenarios where recklessness could cost more lives. I would bring down an entire skyscraper to save 1 life if I knew nobody else could get hurt.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Telepaths and masterminds. Those who can control the will of others are scary. It's hard to know if the henchmen you are fighting are truly evil, or just more innocents being manipulated.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

I wish I was physically more powerful. Faster, regenerate, strong, more durable, that sort of thing. Oh well, I guess.

Telepathy is my least favorite power. Such an invasion of privacy.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

I've already done so much evil in the world, and I've already lost my life. I only wish to make my unlife more productive, and more pure.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

I've always worked alone; but my recruiter asked me "But why? Do you really want to?"

To be honest, I think I'm more comfortable alone; but maybe I shouldn't be.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

I'm smart I guess. Most things just always seemed to come easy to me. I would hope that is something people look for.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

I have a path for my life. With or without the Academy. This is merely a means to walk that path more effectively. If it doesn't pan out, then I will take the slow way.

Joseph handed in his exam, smiled, and walked away.

And then it hit him. A cackle so distant and so familiar it shook him damn near to his knees.

Your first publication of fiction, boy? I may have commanded the vessel; but for years I felt no resistance from you! So why not write it down?

Question 1: You're an assassin, a lowlife, a peace of human #$%&.

Question 7: To kill without consequence and without remorse. Isn't that it?

The Collector closed his eyes. They were the only part of his body visible through dozens of articles of clothing, carefully wrapped about his body to hide his jet black skintone. He hadn't felt Umbra beckon him this badly since he gained his shadow form.

New environment, new people, and his identity was about to be revealed to everyone. He was stressed, full of self-doubt, and emotionally vulnerable. The devil on his shoulder was strapped around his waist, and it was as close to taking control as it had been in a long time.

Does this bring back memories? These crowds, these....heroes? Do you remember "accidentally" bumping into your victims against their knowledge? Leaving a small wound on their ankle or knee. Not even a papercut, nothing that could even be felt. It would burn, and they would think their limb had fallen asleep. But the wound would fester, boil, and burn with no means of healing, and would kill the victim. How would you like to play that game here?

I bet between here and the exit, you could kill 50 people.

Joseph's mind reeled. He felt his hand shiver. Not strong enough to urge him to grab the blade; but certainly not weak enough for him to ignore. He made his way as quickly as possible to the lounge area, and sat down. He crossed his legs, he removed his ceramic jar, and cradled it in his hands in front of him.

He took a deep breath, and focused on the world around him. With these types of meditation, he couldn't focus inward for strength, for that is where the demon was hiding. He had to focus outwards, to drown it out and find an external anchor to pull himself free of the drowning waters that were this cursed object.

All the while the only thing he was thinking was....

"Jeez, I must look like such a weirdo..." he though silently. "So much for first impressions; lets hope I get a chance at seconds or thirds."

Thanks for reading,

How noisy and inconsiderate. For all they know, someone could be trying to take a nap...

I turned my attention to the exam paper.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Well, this question couldn't be more vague... "The kind that prefers subtlety and infiltration over epic battles."

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Hmm... Perhaps I should keep my night time hobbies a secret for now... "I can manipulate sand to form virtually any object I want. It's good for combat, utility, and even restraining people."

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Who writes these stupid and vague questions? There's barely any context here, how is anyone supposed to properly answer this crap? "Well, I would have to be in that situation and judge it for myself."

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

"I'd prefer to do as little damage as possible." Less paperwork that way... "The safety of civilians should always be the primary concern!"

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

I doubt a villain could ever show me something I haven't already seen in one dream or another. I suppose my greatest fear, would be losing the ability to sleep or dream. But would that answer give too much away? Hmm... "I can't say I've ever encountered anything truly frightening."

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

"I'd love to be able to project illusions. It would help with misdirection and infiltration." I'd be able to show people their worst nightmares, even in the real world.

"As for least favorite, never really thought much of it."

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

"To help people of course!" It seems like the most exciting real world job I could go with. Not much else can compete with the dream worls.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

"Alone is best, I am not very good with others." Less witnesses that way.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

"I can easily bind and restrain people, as well as make just about any tool I wish at the drop of a hat."

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

"I'd prefer not to think about."

@thetruebarryallen: Uliana looked up to see Natalya giving her a peace sign. Her face filled with warmer colours on the spot. She shakily lifted her arms up to make a small heart with her hands before looking back down at the paper.

No Caption Provided

She tried her best to give the right answers for these questions while still being as honest as she could, skipping over some of the more difficult ones but as she was finished with her first few several other students had already completed with the entire sheet.

" Oh boy... All the other kids are finishing up already huh?"

She slowly started to panic. Sir Hiss's gentle coil was starting to feel like a death grip. She didn't want to be the last one finished. That would attract too much attention. And even worse, Natalya might even look down on her.

Quickly and carelesly, she scribled down some answers without too much thought. Her handwriting becoming increasingly chaotic and her sentences shorter.

"Phew, we're done now Sir Hiss."

She fell heavily onto one of the couches in the waiting room next to Natalya. Content and mentally exhausted but this was only the start of her first day...

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I donate to animal shelter a lot if that counts.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

Oh, I'm not too special Sir Hiss does all types of cool stuff though.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Don't really know... I'd try to do whatever seems right at the time as best I can but it really depends...

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Id try to do both if I could.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

A lot of things scare me to be honest. Knives, fire, Natalya's dad and I'd most would assume most villains would probably scare me too.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

I'm pretty happy as I am right now. I don't know what specifically but I do wish I was just a little bit better than I am right now.

And the last thing I want is to make people angry or hurt

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

To help people and stuff.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Working in a team, I guess... I really don't like being lonely

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

Umm I don't know. I can kinda sing well i guess.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Hopefully I do but I suppose I'd have to go back home if I don't...

Please let me in, I don't wanna go back home...

The large crowds startled Tanjiro quite a bit, given it's bombastic, imposing statuer being a far cry from the quiet wildernesses he was used to by now, but he quickly steadied himself, reminding himself that this was all part of The Composer's training, and gave the large crowds a wave and a smile, even if the social awkwardness was readily visible on his face all the same.

When they reached the hall, Tanjiro quickly sat down and answered all of the questions.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I use my skill with a blade to deal with opponents quickly and efficiently vis swift movements.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

I can create a night infinite amount of swords, each of which can have different properties. However I prefer to use a longsword above all.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

Head towards the enemy, but go on a pathway that would allow me to save people whilst heading in the enemies direction.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

So long as no one/anything vital to the are's survival is around, take the quickest route possible, as what is destroyed I can help rebuild. Should civilians be around however, I will take precautions to minimise damages.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

No villain in particular scares, my only fear is that my teacher may be sending me down the wrong path without me knowing it.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

The ability to know where anyone is at any point in time. My least favourite power is anything that requires the deceit and/or harm of others in order to be effective.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

So I can be strong enough to face my teacher 2 years from now, as well as figure out where my parents went.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Alone, my fighting style is more effective in a 1v1 scenario, and I'm not very good when it comes to talking to other people.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

My ability to adapt to different situations within the act of combat, and my extensive training gives me the knowledge I need to assess what my opponents are capable of.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Continue training or travel around the world, searching for my parents.

After finishing the questionnaire, Tanjiro calmly gave it to the pros and quickly headed to one of the quieter areas of the waiting room, in order to get some rest from the large crowds.

Hey dude, really sorry for that, but I don't think I will be able to continue on this. It seems to require a lot of time and effort, and I simply am incapable of giving it that time. It looked fun so I signup-ed without thinking much. But now giving it a much deeper thought, I cannot. I should never have signed-up in the first place. I don't get any time on weekdays, and on weekends between regular power-cuts, poor internet and managing other non-CV things, I just won't be able to devote time for this, especially when already participating in 2 other tourneys and hosting another one.

Maybe I will try it next year while avoiding taking part in other tourneys. It seems very interesting. Sorry for inconvenience if I caused any. I'll provide a story-style ending though.

And Broken Bownes walks away from the Armstrong academy, silently, avoiding others gazes, to nobody knows where. Will he become a hero, or a villain? Or something else? Nobody knows. Will he return next year? Nobody knows but he is not ready this year, he realizes that and walks away.

Nobody sat peacefully and took his exam.

No Caption Provided

The Exam

  • Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

The world is broken. It needs a solution. I am that solution. I have seen the flaw of the Way of Adam. I will end the corruption of this world. The system of corruption will be excised like a cancer and from it's bloated corpse a new utopia must arise. If it starts small, that is a necessary process. I hope that those who follow me do so out of respect and not fear. There will always be those who fear, but the fight is not against them, the fight is to earn their trust. Violence is a tool that should never be abused.

  • Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

I am the man who can be anyone. I can break any door, pick any lock, and topple buildings. The application of this power is not only possible in the usage as a hero, but even in many fields that would be considered unsavory. I do not wish to use them in this way.

  • Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I help the civilians. Heroes are trained to fight, to put their lives on the line. They can last until the civilians have escaped.

  • Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

It varies from situation to situation. If a villain is focused on collateral damage, he must be stopped as quickly as possible and salvage what you can.

  • Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Few villains are truly terrifying. The inhuman monsters prevalent in our society are an acceptable evil. They act as is their nature, I do not hate the tiger because it is hungry, but I will slay him if he strikes against me or my people. The villain that is terrifying is one that destroys for destruction's sake. He cannot be reasoned with or rehabilitated, and the only option is removal from society, sometimes even permanently.

  • Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Truly, if there was one thing I lack, it would be my inability to travel long distances. Teleportation would be most suitable for my needs. If there was a power I dislike, it would be the mental manipulations that are seen at times. It is not productive to control a mans mind. Loyalty must be won, not torn from man.

  • Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

I want to change the world. I want there to be a world where heroism is not only applauded, but expected. Altruism is the greatest thing a man can have, the desire to serve his fellow man. However, if their is something I find distasteful in the life of a hero, it is that many expect that they should not have to work outside of their protective duties. With the number of heroes and empowered people, we are not needed as warriors at all times.

  • Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

I am used to working alone, however, I wish to work with a team. I know I have weaknesses, and the best way for me to overcome them is by working with others.

  • Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

My skills allow me to see the weaknesses of others, this makes me suitable for leadership or support. Using my abilities, I can help other heroes to overcome their weaknesses, and to become stronger servants of the common man.

  • Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

My dream is to begin my own nation. If I were not here at Armstrong Academy, I would seek other ways to build a reputation of a trustworthy leader. Perhaps I would earn the money to start my own farm, in order to create a self-sustaining community.

With his exam handed in, Nobody began to chat with his future classmates. He sadly noted that a few had left, but wished them well in his thoughts. This burden was not for everyone.

To those of you who have not completed the exam:

Please do so before 5PM EST on Monday, May 6th. I cannot move the other participants to the practical exam until you've finished.

If you do not finish by then I will have to move on without your character(s).

Also, I still need a name for your character, Dedman.

@thetruebarryallen:

Billy was shy and hesitant throughout the entire introductory process of the Armstrong Academy. Many of the students and staff seemed friendly, but she was worried about getting to close to anyone. She was concerned she might hurt someone if the darkness within her came back... Nevertheless, she was hopeful that she could learn to control her powers, tame the darkness, and make some friends.

From her arrival to the exam, she kept quiet and didn’t talk to anyone. Some people stared at her, maybe because of her blue hair. But, Billy was happy to see that she was one of the more normal looking people, so she didn’t draw too much attention to herself.

Now it was time for the written exam.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

Well...I wouldn’t consider myself a hero. I’m not a villain, per say, but I’ve hurt more people than I have helped. Not by my own free will, but anyways...

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

As well as having greatly enhanced physicals and an innate mastery over several fighting styles, weapons, tactics, and more, I do have a very unique power.

I have the ability to project a magical red energy from my body. I can use this power in the form of bolts and shields, as well as telekinesis. This power provides me with many offensive and defensive options.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I join the fight. My powers and abilities are better suited for combat than for crowd control. I can help shield civilians, but I’d be much more efficient in a fight.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Whatever gets the job done.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Dark magic would scare me the most, because of my past history. Losing my will and ability to act on my own accord is also very scary to me. My powers can cause a lot of damage in the wrong hands and it has taken me years of practice to keep them under control.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Anything that complements or enhances my current abilities. Being able to project more energy, use my telekinesis in bigger and better ways, create stronger shields, etc. Telepathy and/or mental manipulation would be cool to have.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

To atone for my past.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

Alone. That’s mostly how I have always been, and it is the best way to ensure no one else gets hurt.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

My self control. There is a darkness within me, and it is only being kept at bay by the light and my own self-control. If I lose focus, it can come out and hurt everyone around me. I have learnt to control this other side of me, and so I have a strong sense of control and focus.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

I truly do not know...

@thetruebarryallen:

How could he be late for his first day at Armstrong Academy. I guess not having had any real place of residence does take a toll on you. If not for my father's ring, I never would have awoken. I popped the ring on and felt its energy course over me as I faded from existence. I then run full bore towards the room which with my legs was pretty fast. I saw the door was closing behind someone and I bounded through it at the last second. I was still invisible so I scanned the room. Most of these people had no magic aptitude but some of them were menacing in their radiance. I chose an empty desk and sat down, I concentrated and the energy stopped flowing, I was visible again, which startled some.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I am no hero, I just fix things.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

I have an intuitive aptitude for science and magic. I can also use my father's ring to become invisible. I don't know how they are useful.

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I evacuate the people. I am not a fighter.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Collateral damage is important, reducing its effects is paramount.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

Smart Villains who know that going after the support staff deals more damage to most heroes than punches.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Superspeed? If I could get in, fix a thing, and get out without getting caught, that'd be ideal.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

If helping heroes out is a heroic, then I do so because I want to fix things. Not just machinery but the world.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

I am not a fighter, supporting fighters is important and serves a noble purpose.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

I am smart, I can solve problems for them that would be difficult for most.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Probably still be on the streets, fixing things to get by. It is hard out there for children without parents or rich inheritances.

'A test right from the start. Well seems easy enough' Unalok thought to himself.

Question 1: How would you classify your hero style?

I don't really have a hero style yet.

Question 2: What is your power and/or abilities? Why do you think they are useful?

My abilities is my bond with my Beaver-pig called Ripmaw. Well he is more of a brother than a pet to me. The two of us are able to work together and fight as one mind. While I don't have any special abilties, Ripmaw is able to control the Earth and can dig extremely fast. He also has sharp claws and tusks

Question 3: You're told to help with evacuation duty, but you know the foe the other heroes are fighting is weak to your power(s)/fighting style. What do you do?

I would send Ripmaw to deal with the Foe while I help with the evacuation. My connection with Ripmaw means we don't always have to be next to each other. We can split up and deal with different issues.

Question 4: What is more important? Saving the day as quickly as possible, or making sure you take as much precaution to do as little damage as possible to the surrounding area? Why?

Saving the day is more important. You need to stop the villain by whatever means possible, sometimes that means forgetting about the surrounding area.

Question 5: What type of villain scares you most? If villains don't scare you, what does?

The ones that can mind contol others. I don't know how to deal with that ability.

Question 6: What type of power do you wish you had? What is your least favorite power?

Super speed. If my martial arts has taught me anything, it's that speed more often than not can trump anything else.

Question 7: Why do you want to be a hero?

To help others. Given my skills and powers being a hero seems to be the best way to accomplish that.

Question 8: Do you prefer working alone or with a team? Why?

I prefer working alone. Most people aren't able to work with Ripmaw cause he scares them or they don't understand how he communicates.

Question 9: What is your greatest asset? Why would other heroes want to work with you?

You get two heroes for the price of one with me.

Question 10: If you didn't get into Armstrong Academy, what would you do?

Try get into a different hero school.

The Entrance Exam (Practical Portion)

The last of the students hand in their exams to The Metropolitan and enter the waiting room where those who finished early have had some slight confrontation, that can be summed up to, accidental use of power, purposeful use of power, flirtation gone awry, and some rivalries being formed. Not long after the last student enters the waiting area do we see The Metropolitan enter, he gives a nod to Absolute Crane and Crane stands up.

ABSOLUTE CRANE:Alright. It looks like you're all moving onto the practical portion of the exam. If you struggled with the written portion, then I assure you, you won't pass the practical exam.

Several students whisper to one another, is it excitement? Is it fear? It's likely a little of both.

ABSOLUTE CRANE: Through these doors is the entrance to our simulated city. It's where all of our students can practice heroics and train their abilities with no restraint on power usage. I'll let you know this much. The city itself is alive, a hero named URBAN LEGEND, their powers manifested and they became one with the concrete and metal that made up this portion of Paragon City. Since they're alive they can manipulate the city at will. They can also feel the thoughts of the people inside. If anyone of you tries to hurt another participant then you'll be stopped before you can say "Timbuktu."

At this some of the more "passionate" students glare at one another. Smoke begins to rise from Jackson Royce's ears once more.

ABSOLUTE CRANE: Now your task is simple. Survive an attack on the city. Our resident engineer, UPGRADE, has built realistic citizens and villains that'll be inside the city. When the villains attack there will be city-wide destruction. You can choose either to evacuate the civilians, combat the villains, or both. We encourage you to show us what you've got and why we should accept you into our Academy. So don't be afraid to go all out. Don't worry about where foes go when you defeat them, URBAN LEGEND will be absorbing their components and weaponry. If you see a fellow participant go down don't even think about taking their stuff.

Several more students begin to murmur to one another about the exam.

ABSOLUTE CRANE: Oh and one more thing. UPGRADE's villains will be going all out themselves. They won't hesitate to hurt you. If you're going to be a hero you need to understand the risks that come with it. If you don't think you can handle those risks I advise you to leave. Now.

At this the room grows silent. ABSOLUTE CRANE smiles. Nobody leaves.

ABSOLUTE CRANE: Now that's what I like to see. Good luck in there.

The doors open and you're ushered inside. It's time for the exam!

The Entrance Exam (Inside URBAN LEGEND; the exam BEGINS!)

You all walk through the double doors into the simulated city -- there's a big billboard within the city that monitors the status of each participant. On the billboard you can see the following score keepers for each potential student:

  • Villains Defeated: 0
  • Civilians Saved: 0
  • Status: A

You all continue walking until you hit the center of the city.

No Caption Provided

Simulated Civilians walk all around you, people in suits rush to work, parents walk with their children, people walking their dogs. It feels just like a real city, you find yourselves almost forgetting you were in a simulation, but this bliss is limited, as suddenly you hear several explosions throughout the city. People around you scream as chunks of buildings fall from the sky, vehicles swerve into one another, and several figures rise from the destruction with smiles plastered on their faces.

A city wide attack has begun and it's time for the heroes to step in!

Combating Villains

If you choose to fight the villains then you must explain (with feats of your character) how you would beat at least one them, as if you were in a CAV match. You may team-up with other players if you'd like; if this is the case, make a post together.

If you think you can take down more than one, state how many you think you can handle. There is a point system after all...!

Here are the villain(s) stats & images of the villains:

Villain ALPHA (1 Point)

A human looking foe who is covered in blood and wields an upgraded fireman's ax. These villains are terrorizing individual citizens and are laughing at their fear. They are many in number and seem to the foot soldiers of the villainous force.

  • Body: Captain America
  • Skillset: Punisher
  • Power: None
  • Gear: Adamantium Fireman's Ax / MCU Captain America Shield

Villain BETA (3 Points)

A large humanoid with enhanced musculature. They are preoccupied with causing as much destruction as possible. Many of them are lifting large chunks of rubble and are throwing them at buildings and vehicles to make it harder for people to flee.

  • Body: MCU Luke Cage
  • Skillset: MCU Luke Cage
  • Power: FOX Wolverine Healing Factor
  • Gear: None

Villain CHARLIE (2 Points)

A robotic looking fighter with a variety of weapons and other hazards. They are seeking out heroes and are interfering with rescue attempts.

  • Body: Sonny (I, Robot)
  • Skillset: Terminator T-800/T-850 (Films & Comics)
  • Power: None
  • Gear: Bloodshot Nanites / Mark III Repulsor Gauntlet (MCU Iron Man)

Villain DELTA (3 Points)

A cybernetic humanoid; similar activities to villain ALPHA, only less taunting and more aggressive.

  • Body: Gorgon
  • Skillset: Batman / Omega Red
  • Power: None
  • Gear: Omega Red's Tendril's

Saving Civilians (1 Point Per Civilian)

If you do not think you can take down one of these villains, or, you think that saving civilians is just as important as defeating villains, then you can try to evacuate the city.

If you choose this option make a post explaining how you could avoid the fight(s) and how you would convince citizens to come with you in a moment of panic. If you had to escape from a villain (choose one) and explain how your powers/equipment help you do so.

@thetruebarryallen:

As soon as he entered the place, Fluffy was already looking around for some piece of metal he could use when everything went to hell. Immediately after the explosions go off, he grabs some trashcan lid, or manhole, and uses it to fly around the way Static always does with metal disk thingies.

The villains that should look easy enough to take out would be the Charlie ones. Since they're robotic, an Electromagnetic Pulse should be able to take them out.

You allowed this before, so I assume it's fine to use it.

No Caption Provided

I don't remember Sonny having any defence against EMPs, so the body shouldn't be able to resist it by itself. Bloodshot Nanites can do some bs stuff, but, as far as I know, they're used in people's bloodstreams, not in actual robots, so it having feats of letting someone's body resist an EMP would be a bit weird.

Not sure how a robot would use it, or if it'd be able to resist an EMP that way tho.

If it does not work, he can take down the first one with powerful energy blasts, that should be enough to one-shot. Sonny isn't super fast, so hitting shouldn't be that hard. Fluffy has the body of a Matrix Agent, who are hella fast, so the Iron Man gauntlet shouldn't be an issue to dodge.

Fluffy's battle plan will depend on whether or not the EMP works. If it does, then it's just a matter of flying around out of enemy range while disabling as many Charlies as possible with AoE EMPs that they can't really deal with. He should rack up quite a few points this way.

Also, since Deltas are cyborg dudes, this might mess with them quite a bit as well. If Fluffy sees they're affected, he'll focus them as well. Even if they don't die because of it, he can still finish them off if they're weakened enough.

If the EMPs don't work, he'll focus on Betas instead, since they'd be easier to take out and give more points. MCU Luke Cage isn't super fast either, so a single electric blast should take him out as well. Super strong skin would be pretty useless, since the electricity can fry his internal organs and mess with the electric signals of his nervous system. He does have a healing factor, but I don't remember movie Wolverine ever healing from such extreme damage to several internal organs, so they should at least be incapacitated for a long, long time.

Just stay on air, since Betas have no long range attacks, and only go down to finish them off. He could probably take several per minute if they aren't too scattered around.

TLDR:

4 ways this can go:

  1. EMPs work on Charlies and Deltas, so he goes around focusing both
  2. EMPs only work on Charles, so he focuses them
  3. EMPs only work on Deltas, so he focuses them.
  4. EMPs don't work at all, so he just kills Betas

Whichever he ends up with, he should be able to take out a huge amount of enemies in a rather short period of time with his good mobility and firepower.

Its Fun Time

No Caption Provided
Loading Video...

Jenny sprung into action "Alright this is just what you and Daryl practiced" she used her sonic cry to propel herself into the air. "I'll leave the actual fighting to the hot heads, there is enough testosterone here for 100 men." She saw Civilians being attacked and large scale destruction. "Good news i can take care of both"

She saw a group of civilians (5) about to be crushed by a huge chunk of rubble thrown by one of the villains. "oh crap" she let a sonic cry out to stop the rubble. She regulated her vocal cords "Come this way and you will be safe, I will cover you." she used her sonic cry to form sound shields or destroy any rubble that might hurt the civies if they were threatened.

Once that group was safe she flew back into the action, she saw a piece of rubble about to crush what looked like AJ while AJ was trying to protect a Civilian "AJ look out" she unleashed a sonic cry to destroy the rubble into pebbles "got your back girl you finish what you're doing and i'll cover you." Again she used her sonic cry to destroy any rubble tossed their way. Once AJ finished her work with the civilians Jenny gave her a wave and went flying back into the fray.

As she was flying a repulsor bream was shot at her and just missed her head "Crap crap crap" Jenny reered around and saw one of the Charlie's "i'll bet you thought i was an easy target huh?" she let loose one of her strongest Sonic Cries, and saw the Charlie lying there in a crater on the ground. Then she saw it healing "oh heck no" she specifically targeted its arms and legs "you might eventually be able to heal from that but not before the exercise finishes"

And with that Jenny continued her flying on Civilian patrol, she would find individual alpha's terrorizing straggler civies, a quick blast would usually dispose of them and then she would use her voice to calm the civilian and escort them to safety.

Explanations

Generic avoiding fights i want to

I can fly, and i can fly at a pretty decent speed, so i think i can rather easily avoid fights i don't want to... only Charlies have a decent shot at getting me and i think i can handle outflying their one ranged attack.

Saving the First Group of Civilians

since Siryn can use her scream to send multiple cars flying i think destroying the rubble isn't too far out of the question

No Caption Provided

Siryn was also able to send Strong Guy flying through a decently sized hole so i think Destruction wise i'm packing what i need to (I can also show her literally ripping a Sentinel in half but im gonna save that for Charlie)

as for shields because i did mention them

Siryn can put up big shields and reflect Sentinel blasts back at them, so its pretty nifty to have when say you have Charlies with repulsor beams running around

Voice Regulation

  1. this is an explanation of how she does it
  2. she makes a copy agree with her
  3. It even works on Spider-Man, who has some of the highest willpower in marvel.

Saving AJ

again destroying the rubble and keeping AJ and the civie safe should be explained by above, plus Jenny likes AJ so she'd really put effort into it.

Destroying the Charlie

Now i already showed Siryn hurting baseStrong Guy which is pretty impressive, and should cause some problems to Sonny. However i really feel like compounding on this.

she was able to literally rip a Sentinel in half and that's actually pretty impressive considering the kind of energy those things are usually capable of taking, and these Sentinels were displayed as more advanced than the big bulky one's we are used to.

AND, Siryn's scream can liquefy circuitry

No Caption Provided

so those repulsor gauntlets are gonna get fried, might actually affect the nanites too but i know they are microscopic and there are a lot of them so if i target the arms and legs while he's still recovering from my original scream it should put him out of commission. serves him right... down with robots :P

Defeating Alpha's and saving Civilians

so again Cap's body isn't too troublesome and they lack particularly good ranged options, someone like me who is flying and can't really be hit by melee weapons isn't gonna have a problem here, only the Charlies pose any real threat, as long as i stay high enough i can avoid Deltas, Betas, and Alphas.

Then i just use my voice to calm the civies as i fly them out. i don't know the time limit thing but given how easily i can put the Alpha's down and i can fly and calm citizens. I quite imagine i could rack up a good point total doing this tactic.

I also can clear out any rubble being tossed around for funsies and if any Charlies feel like taking another shot at me it basically goes the same way i can dodge/deflect their shots and then put them down

TL;DR

  1. Jenny originally found a group of citizens, saved them from certain death and evacuated them
  2. Jenny saved AJ from more rubble (she is queen after all)
  3. Jenny took down a charlie that was gunning for her
  4. Jenny performed mop up duty afterwards Alpha's and Civies, if any charlies felt like trying her she'd put them down. (i'll let you decide point total since you know the relative time limit of this exercise)

Crazy, Noisy, Bizzare Town

Oh No! There's so many of them and they're all so scary. Uliana was clearly not prepared for an encounter like this so early better stick to evacuating civilians...

So what's going happen first is that Uliana's going to try to calm the crowds and keep get them out in an orderly fashion by having Sir Hiss write the words "Stay Calm" on the buildings. This will repeat that phrase, hopefully calming down some of the civilians(1)(2) She will also attempt to catch any falling civilians by having Sir Hiss write "Boing" on the ground where they would fall, creating a makeshift trampoline. Avoiding the robots shouldn't be too hard. Uliana's pretty quick on her feet and has phenomenal acrobatic skills to boot which will be further enhanced with Sir Hiss's control of the environment. If robots get too close a simple "woosh" or "boom" would likely widen the gap between them and Uliana and if they get really close, they will hopefully become disoriented by various sound effect.

ABSOLUTE CRANE: Now that's what I like to see. Good luck in there.

"ZZZzzzsfadswhat?!"

Rado woke up after his short nap on the couch and seeing everyone walking out of the room, he followed them. He had not heard one word said by the tough looking guy, but he knew that they were supposed to do something about a practical exam. Eyeing up some of the prettier chicks and comtemplating how he was supposed to beat that boss in Darkfire III consumed his thoughts at the time, so he could not quite remember what they were supposed to do exactly. Then Rado suddenly found himself in a city. In wide-eyed surprised he looked everywhere just noticing that his fellow applicants seemed strangely alright with this.

「Нет ничего реального. Вы просто проснулись к мечте.」

Rado ignored the errant thoughts like he always did. He instead focused on the present where everything had descended into a chaotic mess. Civilians, who previously went about their peaceful lives, now ran around panicking while clearly superhuman men and robots harassed them. The other applicants jumped onto the villains so fast that Rado figured it better not to get in their way.

"What the *#$@ is happening?" Rado mumbled to himself.

While still stunned, he saw a little kid about to get cut down by one of the axe-wielding goons, and he responded based on reflex alone grabbing several shards of glass off the ground to throw them at the goon. The goon raised his shield in response easily deflecting all of Rado's projectiles. The man flashed Rado a sadistic grin before turning to him although the kid managed to get away at that very moment.

"Well. $#%*. Probably should-"

The goon, who Rado began to call Axefreak, launched himself at Rado knocking both of them to the ground. Rado barely held back Axefreak's axe from chopping into him as his shield held Rado to the ground. Surprisingly enough Axefreak was actually just as strong as Rado and with better weapons at his disposal...

"*#$@ you. *#$@ you. *#$@ you.*#$@ you.." Rado kept cursing as a mantra to himself before letting go of the axe to stab both of his thumbs into the Axefreak's eyes. Then with a swift knee to the stomach, Axefreak was launched off of Rado. He pulled the axe out of his arm as the wound closed itself. Just as he hefted the axe to throw it, it dissolved straight out of his hands.

"*#$@%^} $#%*(#&@!"

Rado sighed as the man charged at him again.

'Alrighty then, time to show these higher-ups what the student of The Composer can do. These are villains in a simulation, so no need to hold back, Tanjiro. Just let the sounds of battle and The Composer's teachings be your guide'. Tanjiro monologues, ready to prove his worth.

No Caption Provided

"Trace. On!" And just like that, a plethora of swords appear out of nowhere and start bombarding the villains down with a hail of projectiles, causing those who don't defend against them to be sliced down, or at the very least injured. It's not like the villains aren't easy to spot. Tanjiro will also make a longsword for self-defence/melee purposes.

OOC: These projectiles should be able to do quite a bit of damage, ALPHAs sure as heck ain't sword-proof and he lacks long range options, so taking down a couple ALPHAs with a well placed sword projectiles shouldn't be unfeasible, especially with them being distracted by the other players and the projectiles being able to act like boomerangs. The CHARLIEs and DELTAs should also have a dent put into them, should they get tagged (Charlies afaik don't have the speeds to dodge efficiently with the amount of projectiles being thrown around, keep in mind Tanjiro will effectively be rapid-firing these things), and BETA's will be forced to regenerate should Tanjiro manage to land a hit in the eye.

No Caption Provided

OOC: For the record, this is Kyoko whilst de-powered, and she's still able to make these kinds of hops that can cover the distance of buildings casually.

Of course Tanjiro will be moving around at all times, leaping across the rubble, shooting projectiles at any rubble which have any civilian trapped, whilst he rains down projectile, making sure that the repulsers can't hit him whilst the rain of swords continues and giving whom he saves a knowing wink and smile, as if to say "No worries, we're all here to help you!" (this includes any heroes who seem to be in trouble). However Tanjiro will soon slip past those who are right in front of him, the area was packed enough, with loads of different heroes as is, it'd be best for him to find somewhere else and save people no one is checking up on, and let him fight his own battles.

But fo course Tanjiro won't be off the ground forever, those jumps won't last forever and he will soon engage in what he does best, close quarters combat, as he'll be able to plow through any kind of ALPHAs or CHARLIEs that dare to challenge him in close range.

Feats:

No Caption Provided

OOC: Kyoko's ability to weave through bullets that are being altered in their pathway should give Tanjiro the speeds to outright blitz the CHARLIEs and BETAs, dodge through the repulser blasts (I don't really remember anything that could put them above bullet speed iirc), and give the ALPHAs some serious trouble.

No Caption Provided

And as for the DELTAs, this is where Assassin's insane skill comes into play, as despite admitting to having quite a large physical disadvantage against Saber, on top of her having precognition level instincts (more on that later if needed), he's still able to hold his ground through raw skill. An insane showing of skill if I do say so myself, which should show that at the very least, Tanjiro can defend himself against the heavier units, and either make a run for it, or hold them off until other heroes come along and finish the job.

No Caption Provided

And Kyoko's ability to one-shot opponents way larger than herself should give Tanjiro the strength to do some serious damage.

Once Tanjiro has found a more secluded spot with less heroes & villains around, he will mop up the nearby villains and then look for any surviving citizens, making sure they are safe before pulling them out of the rubble, and making sure to give them a small talk, even if you could tell he was nervous around other people.

"Hey there, you ok? Don't worry, you're safe with me, me and the other heroes will keep you safe, so no need to be sad." This was a phrase he repeated to basically everyone he found, as his socially awkward mind could only think of that one sentence to say, even still, he thought it eased the minds of those he saved, so he didn't really seem to find it harmful.

The Collector

Joseph collected himself (see what I did there?) and stood at the entrance. He took a deep breath, and focused on his gauntlet, of all things. He had an edge that he didn't want others to know about; but he could use to his advantage.

He reached out and felt all of the magical and psionic enchantments and abilities around him. He felt for the divine, the arcane, the dark, and the psychic. He reached out and felt into the city as far as the gauntlet would let him. If this URBAN LEGEND was really using some sort of telepathic link to read everyone, and manipulate the city, he hoped he could detect it.

And there it was, a burst of energy in one direction. Joe instantly ran as fast as he could in that direction, looking to save whomever he could. The gauntlet couldn't catch broad effects such as this; but it would allow him to know what portions of the city were about to be manipulated. It would also allow him to find places where his fellow classmates weren't looking. The gauntlet couldn't detect them; but it could definitely detect the psychic energy being sent their direction.

The Collector was the best at navigating between the shadows, and out of sight. He moved to the portions of the city that were being neglected by his fellow competitors. He was there to help as many people as possible, he reminded himself. Defeating villains was great and all; but it means nothing if there are no people left to save. He ran down alleyways and helped grab and escort as many people as possible.

He lifted debris, cut door locks, and did whatever he needed to. All the while keeping an eye out for who needed help; civilian or fellow hero.

Gauntlet Feats

Basically, it can detect any form of psionic energy (basically, if it's a mind based power, including technopathy, matter manipulation, and anything someone does with their mind and not physical body, it's psionic), divine energy, and any form of magic energy.

Thanks for reading,

SURPRISE ATTACK! VILLAINS NEVER SLEEP!

Loading Video...

The rescue efforts are currently going rather well you all realize, as some of you tackle fighting the villains and the others evacuate the city's civilians. The Alpha's seem to be taking the brunt of the damage as many of them are electrified, the energy cackling from the ends of Fluffy's fingertips, while others are impaled by a barrage of swords, raining from above. Rado, though confused, is doing the best he can to take down as many as he can, even if he isn't exactly sure where he is in the present moment.

Those of you who are helping civilians out are thankful for the backup that the more aggressive of you are providing. An AJ clone was nearly crushed by rubble if not for the interference of Jenny and her sonic screams, and Uliana was creating a medley of sounds that aided citizens as they escaped the crumbling city.

Of course this chaos was just the beginning for you all. The entrance exam to such a prestigious school couldn't be THAT easy, could it? Tremors began to shake the earth beneath your feet, and cracks sprung through the streets. It stopped, and then, suddenly, several creatures burst out from below.

No Caption Provided

Three large figures climb out from the holes they've created -- they seem robotic, but also humanoid. Over a loudspeaker you hear the voice of Armstrong.

ARMSTRONG: It seems the villains you've been fighting were just henchmen, and these three are the true masterminds behind the attack! Give it your all! Show them you have what it takes to be a hero!!!! UNLEASH EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!

The figures tower over you all, standing roughly 50 feet in height (think MCU Giant Man) but only one of them appears to be robotic, the other two are organic.

The other foes continue rampaging through with the addition of these newer combatants. It seems helpless, but Armstrong encouraged you all to try, so try, right?

Objective: If you've already posted feel free to try and team up against these foes, if you haven't posted yet and want to try your hand at them, feel free. If you don't try to attack them talk about how you'd help citizens out even with these foes attacking the city.

This is simply a surprise addition to the current mission. If you haven't posted yet, factor it into your posts. If you have posted already, and have time, try your hand at addressing their appearance into the situation.

Max raced through the battlefield using Cross Tail to propel himself along. To increase his speed he would jump off walls as he went to allow himself to dodge attacks. As he went he released extra strings to create a spear which he threw at a Alpha that was about to harm a civilian. He then landed on the ground and made a wire trap separating the villains from a group of civilians allowing them to escape from harm. He then prepared to use more wires to cut any enemies that came towards him.

2.

Romero Britto had just gotten ready to fight, having inhaled about half a tube of glue, when three giants burst through the floor, the fleshy one letting out a bellow that fired off car alarms in the distance.

Oh... change of plans.

He put his fingers to his mouth and let out a loud whistle.

"Oi fellas!"

With a motion of his hands, a series of flaming arrows appeared, indicating the direction civilians ought to take. Romero yelled out instructions.

"Keep calm and carry on. Just your friendly neighborhood Candyman giving a helping hand. So, remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Yeah..."

Romero motioned the way much like a airport signaller.

"...Pretty much don't look back if you don't wanna die. Oh, and don't run while chewing gum. And try not to step on any kids."

I'm sure people would trust Romero, given he has a very trusting face. In addition to that, I've got Fistigons that can create fire constructs, allowing me to motion people away from the scene much like when a movie theater's lights go out.

After a few people follow them, herd mentality should make everyone just head out the way I show, and I can follow them like a shepherd, offering emotional support and, of course, defense.

As for evading one of the betas, it should be easy for an alpha gamer such as myself. First off, I have a speed advantage over them.

In the time it takes Bando to strike twice, Hanafusa moves like a blur and lands a total of 13 hits. And these aren't just blind strikes either, since he's targetting very specific pressure points along his arm and chest as he's punching.

In addition, Bang's martial art, Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, is meant for repelling and deflecting attacks. As Tanktop Master puts it after fighting Garou...

No Caption Provided

Here's Garou applying it against Metal Bat, who might've one-shot him with a single strike if he could land any.

I'm aware this isn't Bang, but they use the same style and, in addition to Bang having kicked Garou's ass, Superalloy Darkshine has outright stated that compared to him, Garou is "far from perfect."

No Caption Provided

Notice again the "repelling all my attacks."

This should mean the BETA's can't really hurt me in H2H (though I can't really hurt them too bad either lol) which is their only option, and I can escape with my superior speed.

Mood Setter:

Loading Video...

The above video is not only a good mood setter, but also a nice compilation of feats showing off my character's skillset. As you can see, he's a master of knife throwing and polearms and specializes in hunting superhuman monsters (some of whom have super sonic feats), despite being only a peak human.

A Pleasant Nightmare!

Phase 1 (Evacuation):

The first thing I do is create a bunch of sand in the sky that says "Evacuation Here!" with an arrow pointing to where I am.

As you can see here:

If you recall from my backstory, I have a huge storage of sand from my 2 year COMA and I still collect nightmare sand from people every night for fun.
If you recall from my backstory, I have a huge storage of sand from my 2 year COMA and I still collect nightmare sand from people every night for fun.

I am capable of generating a lot of sand in the sky, so writing a clear and visible sign should be easy.

Once people start heading towards my location, I'll bring the sand cloud down so that everyone breathes it in and falls a sleep:

Here, the sand manages to put Santa Claus to sleep. In this setting, Santa is a powerful mystical entity.
Here, the sand manages to put Santa Claus to sleep. In this setting, Santa is a powerful mystical entity.

From there, I'll use the sand generated from their dreams to create more sand and generate them into nightmares:

The sand can take pretty much any shape, so I should be able to strap them down so they don't fall off
The sand can take pretty much any shape, so I should be able to strap them down so they don't fall off

Which will proceed to carry them off for evacuation. With this strategy, I should be able to evacuate entire streets full of people all at once. This is easily the most efficient evacuation method here, and I should be able to completely blow everyone away in points with this alone.

Especially since, I can probably make a self-sustaining system out of it once people see that the sand is carrying people off to safety.

Phase 2 (Going On The Offense):

Once, I have evacuated everyone in the vicinity or I have a self-sustaining system going (which, again, should be doable in seconds), I can start targeting the 3 point BETAS.

https://youtu.be/Wodd0XRNmbI?t=6 If you slow that video down to 25%, you can see that my character is not only capable of dodging rifle shots, but also moving at comparable speeds to them.

With that, I should be able to pretty much spam sand projectiles like this:

No Caption Provided

MCU Luke Cage is far too slow to defend against the sleep projectiles (especially with no weapons) and FOX Wolverine has no feats against mystical sleep magic. I should essentially be able to blitz.

Since the BETAs are focused on destroying buildings, they should be extremely easy to track down, and far too distracted to notice me sneaking up on them.

Especially since I can ambush them by turning into a shadow:

No Caption Provided

Even without the shadows, my stealth skills are more than enough to get the drop on the BETAS. Juzuu's main enemy are Ghouls. Ghouls are capable of not only hearing footsteps off in the distance, but also learn someone's very nature:

No Caption Provided

That is extremely impressive. Far more than the scans you chose for the Bloodshot nanites

Here Juzuu casually gives Ayato an SS class (the second highest danger rating) ghoul the slip:

Not only is Ayato an SS ranked ghoul, he's also one known for his superb hearing. Here he gains the complete layout of a room with just his hearing:

No Caption Provided

Yet, Juzuu is able to straight up houdini him.

Phase 3 (The Bonus Round)

I'm not really going to try too hard to get any of the bonus monsters. If a troll gets too close to me or one of my evacuation areas, I'll try start shoving sand in it's face until it either falls asleep or gets smothered to death.

Summary:

  • First I set up a sign showing people where to go to get evacuated.
  • Then I set up a self sustaining system of using sand to put people to sleep, then have sand generated from their own dreams to create nightmare horses for evacuation.
  • When people see the horses carrying people to safety en-mass, more people will flock to the area, continuing the cycle.
  • It's a self-sustaining system that should allow me to evacuate an entire street full of people with ease, and continue to evacuate anyone who comes to the area, and I can set multiple areas for this as need be.
  • The above system alone, should easily net me the most points in the entire game.
  • Once the above method is fully self-sustained or the evacuee numbers start drying up, I can go on the offense targeting the BETA soldiers.
  • BETA soldiers are tough, but they are far too slow to counter my blitz attack. Since they have no protections against being put to sleep via inhaling my sand, it should be pretty easy to take them down one after another. I can't say how many of these I can take down, since I don't know how many there are or in what concentration, but they are slow enough that I should be able to take down any number of them at once.

@thetruebarryallen All in all, I should have the highest amount of points here.

@thetruebarryallen: Nia walked to and fro, unsure of what exactly she was supposed to be doing. She'd never been in a situation like this before and all the additional stimulus was taking its toll on her. Like a child who'd lost their parents at a shopping centre, she wandered around with a confused look on her face. She started approaching the citizens at random but it seemed as if another student would swoop in just before she got there. With a look of resignation, she started thinking that maybe going back home wouldn't be so bad. She slowly fell into the pit of self-defeat until an image of her uncle popped up into her mind. If she failed the entrance exam, and by extension failed in the task that her uncle had set for her...

"All right, I'm gonna do this!" She yelled as she pumped her fist skyward in an instantaneous and miraculous turn of emotion. She worked best based on negative reinforcement rather than positive, after all. She broke out into a run, looking for something that she could do. She ran past students rescuing citizens and fighting villains alike. Some elegantly, and one in particular who was cursing up a storm just off to the side. She ignored them and pressed on before eventually finding it. A beat of a man had lifted a chunk of rubble and was just about to throw it at a young woman. She was crouched down in the survival position with her hands over her head and tears streaming down her face. These robots are a bit too realistic, aren't they? The man roared out and threw the rubble at the woman, but it was shattered into pebbles moments before it could reach her. Nia stood where the rubble was supposed to be, glaring at the man in front of her.

"It's been a while since I've done this," she said as she awkwardly stretched. She stretched down in an attempt to touch her toes but winced when she reached her shins before jolting back up. "Well, that does make sense," she finished, her face slightly flushed. "Let's make this quick, okay?" With a smile, she exploded towards the towering figure who only roared in response.

Since we're both physical tanks with healing factors, this is essentially a battle of strength, skill, endurance, and speed. Fortunately, I win on three of those four fronts, and the other is quite irrelevant to this particular fight.

Strength wise Cage is exceedingly strong, but that stat is Arc's bread and butter, and something she easily outshines Cage in.

She's strong enough to crater a wall by one-handedly choke slamming a vampire into it before yeeting them across a street with enough force to launch him through the wall and have him carry that momentum to completely destroy the classroom he was thrown into, before breaking both the floor and wall on the other end of the room. This on its own is above what Cage should be capable of doing by feats, but I'll show one more to solidify it.

Here she busts a pretty large hole in a wall on top of leaving huge gashes in the ground with a claw swipe. Note that although Nia doesn't have her claws yet, the claws simply turn her strength into cutting attacks. The damage done is down purely to her strength.

With the feats Cage has durability wise he can take a lot of punishment but he is by no means immune. In almost all the large fights he's had against people with similar strength to himself (Diamondback, Iron Fist, Bushmaster, etc) he's been battered pretty badly, even if he ultimately wins. As an example, although he's obviously mostly fine after this hit from Bushmaster it's enough to take the wind out of him. My point is that Beta's absolutely going to be feeling and being hurt by my punches. This is important due to my skillset.

Kirei's fighting style utilises Chinese Martial Arts and specifically targets the inside of his opponent instead of the outside. In short, his punches, so long as you feel them, are going to deal far more damage to your organs than any other area. Note that in these scans Shirou's body was quite literally made of swords and Kirei's punches were still damaging his organs directly.

Kiritsugu experienced surprise for the second time in a few short seconds.

The space between them was a little over five steps. The tall Executor took a slight step forward, shortening this seemingly safe distance. This step, which sneaked toward the enemy without announcing its speed, was called ‘the moving stance’. It was also one of the dangerous secret skills of Baji Quan.

Kiritsugu shuddered, as the tall, frock-clad figure glided forward. Kirei's reached Baji Quan's optimum distance, and his fist drove toward toward the enemy with the power to reach infinity in all eight directions.

Kirei stepped forward. The concrete floor boomed under the impact, and the heavily planted forward fist slammed into Kiritsugu’s chest like a rock. Using the ‘Eight Postures of the Buddha Guards’ style, the sheer force of Kirei’s strike was like a grenade exploding in Kiritsugu's chest. Kiritsugu’s body, which took the full force of the blow, flew through the air like a strand of hay, and slammed into the support pillars that crowded the room. He never had the chance to defend himself. His thoracic cavity crumpled beneath Kirei’s iron fist, and his lung and heart were pounded into a mash of meat.

Here's a quote of Kirei's style in action, where a solid punch instantly crushes Kiritsugu's heart and lungs into 'a mash of meat.' What I'm getting at is that Cage's durability here isn't much of an issue, and his skin isn't going to be much help to him either as my damage is instead going to destroy his organs.

Now, he does have a healing factor which gives him a fair amount of staying power but you must know that Fox Wolverine's healing has never healed damage on the level of mushed organs. He's been laid out pretty heavy from stuff like this, and damage to his stomach does affect him quite heavily and takes a fair amount of time to heal. With enough internal damage, his healing factor is going to get taxed and at that point, he's out for the count.

Aiding me in this beat down is, once again, Kirei's skill. Kirei objectively far, far outstrips Cage skill wise.

“Time Alter: Triple Accel!”

Kiritsugu leapt toward Kirei as he uttered the forbidden spell. His unpredictable acceleration caught Kirei off-guard. One blow from the hardened walnut wood snapped Kirei’s right radius and ulna. The Executor's right arm was destroyed.

As he struck with his right hand, Kiritsugu drew the dagger by his waist using his left. With one eye and one arm ruined, it didn’t matter how great Kirei’s martial art skills were; victory would belong to Kiritsugu as long as he continued to move at three times his top speed. Using Innate Time Control in this way would ordinarily be suicide, but thanks to the protection of Saber’s sheath, he could now use it to its full potential as a strategic weapon.

Kirei dodged the upward stab as the dagger was removed from its sheath, and used his left arm to block the downward slash and backhand horizontal swing Kiritsugu followed up with. However, with these three attacks, Kiritsugu shifted around to Kirei's left hand side, into Kirei’s blind spot. As long as he stayed on the left side of the enemy, Kiritsugu would have all the chances in the world to strike Kirei down from his blind spot.

Kiritsugu’s sharp blade sliced closer, but Kirei didn’t turn; instead using the left side of the body to block every swing. Turning would have been pointless; his broken right arm could not possibly block Kiritsugu’s dagger. Thus, though it disadvantageous for Kirei to use his left side to defend himself, he had no other choices.

The dagger attacked continuously, flickering through the air with a chilling light. No regular human would have been able to even see Kiritsugu’s movements; only the lighting-like residual images the dagger left in its wake. Kirei, though, blocked every attack using just his left arm. Kirei, who easily defended himself even when faced with attacks made at three times the speed of normal humans, terrified Kiritsugu. There were a few attacks that even Kirei would never have seen coming with his eyes, but the Executor’s left arm defended him, as if it could see every swing.

“Could this be the idea of ‘hearing’ a move?!”

Kiritsugu only had a vague impression of this phrase. Some schools of martial arts thought that when a martial artist had reached a certain state in his skills, he wouldn’t need eyesight to detect the enemy’s movement. He could predict the opponent’s next move purely on the brief moment when his arm blocked that of his opponent.

The attacks from his blind spot had also been rendered pointless, then. Since the attacks were coming from a static location, Kirei could block them even if he couldn’t see them. This man’s skills made him someone who wouldn’t be at a disadvantage even when put under the duress of speed.

Kirei is skilled enough to deflect someone too fast for him to track properly with one hand while also being completely blind in the only eye that would allow him to see his opponent. While Cage is decently skilled for a street brawler, he is nowhere near this tier, and it's been shown that Cage is actually quite predictable, which is what allowed Bushmaster to outfight him in CQC. That, combined with Kirei's insane skill and predictive ability, should mean that the Beta doesn't really have a hope of tagging Nia during this fight.

Speed wise Nia wins quite handily as well due to being able to move at FTE speed. Cage has zero feats anywhere close to this tier of speed.

Endurance wise, Avalon healing allows Nia to heal from fatal injuries:

Kiritsugu was surprised that he was still alive. He had already been prepared to die when Kirei drew near. Kiritsugu’s heart and lungs had indeed been completely destroyed, and all he should have been able to manage was a final, feeble struggle. But the fatal injury had healed, moments before his oxygen-deprived brain would have begun to die. Kiritsugu, of course, knew of no healing magecraft powerful enough to heal injuries like this. Nonetheless, he immediately understood what was going on. The Noble Phantasm, Avalon. The holy relic that had summoned Saber; the sheath of the holy sword, which had protected Irisviel’s body for so long.

Irisviel had separated the sheath from herself, giving him the miraculous sword sheath that protected its wielder from any harm, and prevented them from aging. Kiritsugu, Saber’s true Master, could obtain prana from Saber, and so exert the sheath's powers as if he were its true wielder. Kiritsugu had heard of its ability, but had never seen it with his own eyes. He had not expected the sheath to be able to heal fatal injuries. Though still shocked at the power of the sheath, Kiritsugu began to consider battle tactics the moment he realized that he had been revived. He left his eyes closed, and suppressed the urge to cough as his body regained its ability to breathe, and played dead, waiting for the chance to launch a surprise attack.

The healing is admittedly far from instant but all the same, it gives Nia an awful lot of staying power in a brawl. On top of this, she does have a fair amount of raw durability as well.

All in all, the Beta is outstripped in almost every area, and due to the massive skill difference the one area that he wins in, endurance, isn't going to be too relevant as he's not gonna be tagging Nia. Even if by some miracle he does tag her Nia still has quite impressive healing in her own right and can tank a solid number of hits. Cage is also superior in terms of raw lifting strength, but I also don't believe that to be too relevant to this fight, especially with Nia's advantage in striking.

Once the Betas healing has been sufficiently taxed Nia can take her time finishing it off to make sure it doesn't come back. She could crush its organs repeatedly to ensure it or crush his head with enough force. The choice is up to her, really.

5 minutes later, Nia was standing over the body of the giant man. By her feet, the monster twitched and Nia responded by stamping on the Beta's head. After a few stamps that looked like a kid throwing a tantrum, it stopped twitching and came to a rest. Nia was breathing quite heavily but still turned around and smiled at the woman who was frozen stiff. "See, it didn't take too long, right?" she said proudly as she puffed out her chest but the woman remained unmoving. Nia didn't realise that her fear had changed its target from the man to her somewhere during the short but brutal fight. "Don't worry, I'm a hero so I'm here to save you." Nia reached a hand out towards the woman, "Let's go, yeah?" The woman tentatively took her hand and stood up.

While making their way to the safe area for evacuation, Nia heard the announcement of the surprise villains and heard subsequently saw one of them. A towering figure of over 20 feet tall stood off in the distance. Nia stood in front of the woman she was with as if to shield her. "I'm going to go take care of that real-"

As she was speaking, the giant swept its hand, nearly cutting the building next to it in half as it did so. Nia wore a look of disbelief as she slowly nodded. "Your safety comes first," she finished before turning her back to the giant and continuing to lead the woman to the safe zone. Nia wasn't quite sure whether what she said was for her or the person she was with.
