@mrragepants: from what I heard of DC some marvel fans I think thanos I think that Dr. fate would probably do the same thing that other people do he would start trashing Thanos with magic and then Thanos would use magic too Thanos would start losing and then Thanos would close the distance to just start beating dr fate to a pulp with his fists like he does everyone else

Kent Nelson could deal w/ Spectre, the only way Spectre defeated him was via BFR. Spectre is more powerful than Thanos w/ the IG, Fate both rounds.

Sadly Fate isn't anywhere near Spectre, Thanos get this

Stop looking at scans and READ Silver and Bronze Age Fate stories. Fate was killing Hell lords, fighting ancient gods and keeping up with the SPECTER in fights.

R1: Dr. Fate's Utility will give him an edge so for the most part it's in his favor to take this.

R2: Classic Fate is really really tough to beat but he doesn't have anything that can touch Thanos with IG so R2 goes to Thanos.

Round two: Thanos single handidly eradicated the whole bunch of Celestial hard ballers, and marvel abstacts like Master order,Galactus, Lord chaos, in-betweener and multiple others in a single pannel or two, and after that beat eternity with no sweat. So Fate has zero chance.

Has Fate shown anything impressive in Rebirth? I'd back Thanos from what I have seen of him in the Post crisis era

Thanos has honestly become one of the most overhyped along with Sentry and World Breaker Hulk. Fate would destroy Thanos in round 1 one there isn't even a question or debate about it round two he'd stand a better chance but would still lose.

Current Rebirth Fate is pretty terrible at the moment, but that's probably because he's not very experienced. No contest.
