In no way was the Predator Arnie fought better than Wolf. The Jungle Hunter doesn't even compare in strength, skill or ability. Wolf was closer to a Veteran. He was called in specifically to clean up the mess wrought by a PredAlien, which is seen as a great insult to the Yautja. And no, it didn't take years to take down Jungle. Remember, they only come in the Hot Seasons. Once that time has passed the Predator leaves the planet, and until military personel started going missing in that area, no one even knew Jungle was there. Only the stories mentioning the Invisible Demon. There are many such stories from all across the world, because the Yautja have been visiting the Earth for over 20,000yrs.

Also, Wolf did not throw away anything. He had 2 Plasmacasters, one got broken and the other was damaged, so he had to work with what he had on hand. So he converted one into a Burner (a more portable version, if not as powerful) so that he could still blow away the Xeno's from a safe distance. The reason why Wolf had so many weapons was because he knew he was in for a shit storm and he needed everything he could safely carry with him. Any one of those weapons would rip through a Terminator easily. He could hit the Terminator with the Net and just let it shred him to pieces.

The Predator did thought Arnold was dead. After Arnold fell off that cliff and into the lagoon, the Predator searched for him. After being unable to locate him it went back to it's lair to polish off it's new collection of skulls. Then Arnold used the opportunity to set up his traps. Also I doubt the Predator ever left Earth. It returned back to the area where Anna's village was located every hot season and went somewhere else (like where the characters currently are) for the rest of the year. Not to mentioned it arrived by having the spaceship drop it off in some kind of pod in Earth's atmosphere then the ship flew off. The reason no one knew the Pred was there was because the location was where guerrilla soldiers were camped. If anyone went MIA, the CIA would just suspect it was the guerrillas. Plus any soldiers who did encounter the Pred, never lived to tell the tale. When the only survivors of the Predator (Dutch and Anna) did managed to tell the tale, the government built a special unti to track down the thing that was seen in the second film. Also I have a different interpretation for why the Pred went hand to hand with Arnold. In my opinion the Pred knew if it killed Arnold, it would had to wait a while before more soldiers arrive, so it decided to have fun with the last survivor by beating the hell out of him before killing him. Especially considering how it made quick work out of all of Arnold's teammates.

As for comparing Wolf to the first Predator (where did you get the name Jungle Hunter from? First time I've heard that name), the first Pred was better from what I saw. Wolf got sneaked attacked atleast twice by the Predalien, and atleast two more times by regular aliens. This shows lack of skills. Then when infiltrating places, instead of infilitrating things undetected, he took the front entrance, guns a blazing like when he infiltrated the hospital. This shows lack of tactical know how. While Arnold's Pred was doing things like taking Blain's body undetected depsite the fact Arnold's squad set up traps and were waiting for him. Or ambushing two guys who were trying to ambush him. Or unknowingly sneaking up behind Arnold unnoticed until he was literally right behind Arnold, and he did this two more times later in their fight.

And no Arnold in this fight isn't going to be taken out easily by the Predator's weapons. He not the pathetic wusses who dies by an electric shock that you see in the TV series. The best the net is going to do is cut his skin before the Terminator either breaks it or breaks whatever it's attached to. Considering how the Aliens were able to damage a lot of Wolf's weapons, I don't see how the Terminator is going to have any trouble doing the same especially since Arnold will be shooting at Wolf with his own arsenal. Not to mention Wolf lost some of his weapons that were still working like the Burner that one of the humans eventually got a hold of.
