Stormbreaker is a weapon than can kill Thanos. Ofcourse it's gonna kill Thor too

While Stormbreaker is by far the more impressive weapon, neither of these feats are comparable.

Clark is LITERALLY no selling being hit by the axe while Thor is fearing for his life with Stormbreaker inching closer to his chest.

A better comparison would be Thanos surviving Stormbreaker thrown by Thor caving in his chest vs the Superman instance

As others have said, this is like asking why someome can no-sell a spray from a soft airgun pellet and someone else get damaged by a barret .50 on the chest

@deltahuman: We cannot judge his piercing durability off of a knife we have only seen one time. So far the knife has no upper limit to what it can Pierce. It could have done the same thing to Thor. All we know is that it went through Thor’s armor and a little bit into his body. The knife has no anti feats. In order to compare two things one of them has to have an anti feat or else you will not have a set amount of damage it can do

Thor is barely above low superhuman tier when it comes to piercing durability. He hides from bullets multiple times, gets pierced by Hela's fodder swords that get shattered by normal bullets, needs to be protected from an arrow by Sif, gets cuts, bruises etc when slammed into concrete etc. A knife being able to pierce him is no big deal really. Doesn't matter what the upper limit of the knife is, that is not of any concern here. The fact of the matter is, it's no big deal that Stormbreaker can cut Thor because even low tier damage and low tier weapons like arrows or bullets will harm Thor. Asgardians in general aren't that invulnerable to piercing damage anyway. Odin lost his eye to Frost giants who fight with ice swords or something lol

Superman on the other hand is virtually invulnerable to piercing damage. Dude was in 3 movies and never even got a paper cut from all the physical abuse he endured except when he was in presence of Kryptonite which is no big deal since Kryptonite literally decays Kryptonian cells. In addition, the Axe which Superman no sold already cleaved Atlanteans into half in the same movie and Atlanteans can no sell gunfire. Even earth made steel swords can't scratch Atlanteans and you need special atlantean steel to cut them. This already makes Atlanteans better than Thor in terms of piercing durability. And Superman straight up no sold the Axe. What's more special is, magical/godly weapons are supposed to harm Kryptonians as per convention because Kryptonians are vulnerable to magic. Despite the axe being a New God axe, made of special New God magic which is evident because no earth based metal would be able to do what it did, Superman absolutely no sold it. Superman also no sold the force of the hit and didn't move even a millimetre. That's is infinitely greater than anything Thor has ever done on screen.

There is no debate here. Thor's durability in terms of blunt force and piercing is fodder compared to Superman. Only his energy durability is impressive

@cha0sking: What do either of those things have to do with what I said? Being shattered by Superman isn’t a detriment to the axe, that’s like arguing that Cap’s shield is weak cuz Thanos broke it. Sure the axe “didn’t” bust the Nightcrawler, but it was strong enough to shatter the earth & resist consistent attacks from Diana.

Stormbreaker is vastly superior yes, but Clark no selling Step’s Axe isn’t comparable to Thor fearing for his life while Thanos pushes the axe towards him. Again, a better comparison is Thanos surviving SB vs Clark no selling the Axe.

Though I would argue that Stormbreaker is greater than Electro Axe, calling it fodder is ignoring the feats it has.

Created a lava infused crater with one swing.

Withstood strikes from WW's sword that was able cut off Doomsday's arm with a single swing.

In Wolf's hands, knocked WW down, creating an sparks and lava.

And it did cut into Cyborg, who was born of a Mother Box.

Do with this what you will, but Superman no selling Electro Axe is a feat for Superman, not an anti feat for Axe.

The thread feels like a dig at Thor tbh, we all know how trash his durability vs pretty much any weapon is, let alone a high tier weapon like Steppenwolf's axe. Superman is on an entirely different level, simple as. Post #35 sums it up.

The only other thing that punctured the skin of a kryptonian was kryptonite and a nuke, yet the sword that cut off the arm of a Kryptonian is fodder.

i love the headcanon that an axe (stormbreaker) (that has never pierced anyone close to clark’s level of piercing durability) can somehow pierce him. it is a complete headcanon.
