@xeon1cs: You realise Surfer is just as fast as Wally, yeah he'll get some hits in but nothing that will do even a little damage
@ImBoredLetsDebate: Not when Surfer is just as fast as Wally
Scans please. Surfer is not as fast as Wally Lol
I'm pretty sure he isn't even close to being as fast as him.
The scan I posted of Flash saving those 500k people shows him going at 10(?) trillion times the speed of light. Where has SS ever gone anywhere near that fast?
search the whole planet in seconds people need to wake up about SS speed
Indeed. The Surfer is superliminal in reaction/combat speed as well. I copied my comment from a previous thread regarding the SS search of the plantet feat from SS Annual 5:
A common feat shown for reaction time is the Surfer's searching of the planet in only seconds (in the time it takes Dr Strange to utter a sentence and a 1/2). Many assume that the Surfer utilizes his cosmic senses to perform the search. This is incorrect. First of all, he would not have to leave to perform the search if he was going to search that way. Secondly, Strange already attempted a search of the planet in astral form, although he was blocked by Shanzar. The Surfer, realizing this, would have concluded a physical search was necessary if a search by astral form was unsuccessful (after all in SS Annual 2, it clearly indicates that Strage is on par with the Surfer in terms of search capabilities...). This is underscored by Hulk's comment upon his returrn, "That was impressive". Furthermore, after Delphi reveals to Strange that Namor/Rick Jones is at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, once under water, Norrin, now utilizing his other senses (his far reaching vision in this instance) sees a light quite some way up ahead. Strange even comments about how glad he was that Surfer used his vision on that occasion. Therefore, in the span of about five seconds, The Surfer searched 5 billion people all over the entire planet. That is easily a superliminal feat, when you consider that, travelling in a straight line, one would have to circle the globe just over five times in a second to travel at light speed. In five seconds, the Surfer covered, not linear miles, but tens of millions of square miles (NOTE: this means in order for him to be completely thorough as he said he was, he would have to have searched utilizing his phasing abilities). Yeah, he has faster than light reflexes. Piece of cake.
A note about the Surfer: The Surfer has so many powers, its easier to talk about what he can't do. So when people write the Surfer, they don't think often in terms of his speed in relation to combat. That is because he usually uses energy strikes of some sort or energy/matter manipulation. But as the above feat indicates as well as numerous others, the Surfer is beyond light speed in terms of combat speed and reaction speed. Will we ever see him portrayed like a typical DC speedster? Nope. Particularly, when said DC speedsters main power is...speed. Not that they don't have some neat tricks like vibrating through solid matter, speed steal, etc...but chronicling Norrin's speed and emphasizing it the way writer's do for the DC speedsters you won't see. But is he faster than light? Oh yeah.
