Actually, I looked up a Punisher respect thread before making this just to be sure I wasn't setting myself up for a whole lot of "Ollie curbstomps", "GA effortlessly" and I found out that this is much closer than most would have it seem.

Endures and overcomes? That's what Oliver does.

This is a rare occasion where Frank is facing an opponent whom he is not tougher than. And he certainly doesn't hold a candle to Oliver in skill.

There is no reason for Oliver to lose.

He does, but Frank's a whole hell of a lot better at it!

You can't be tougher than Oliver. He's inhuman.

I think it's safe to say both of them have endured and overcome a lot.

Frank beats him to a pulp. He has fought far better and has better stats. I would love for someone to make a case for Ollie.

Frank's more than human, too. He's a force of nature. A hurricane of vengeance. Ollie's never met a man like Frank Castle.

I don't think he's tougher, I think they're dead even. Oliver spent five straight years trapped in Hell. Five years where nothing good happened, that's how he described it. Pain doesn't bother him anymore. He's completely immune to cold, and he can get shot by bullets or arrows or stabbed with claws or swords without so much as flinching.

They can both take a beating, but Frank is always thinking 5-10 steps ahead of his opponent. He also tends to fight dirty. Ollie, not so much. He'll let Ollie land and then rake his eyes, grab his balls and turn this into something Ollie's never seen before. Frank's Rated R. Ollie's PG-13.

He's met himself. Five years in Hell forged Oliver into a living weapon. He's no longer the man he once was. He is someone else. He is... something, else.

You make a good point there, but I think Ollie has taken worse.

Saying nothing good happened is an exaggeration and not really all that factual.

Oliver is always 10 steps ahead as well. That's literally what he taught Flash. Thinking on his feet is pretty much all he does. Dirty fighting is no substitute for actual, animalistic skill. Frank is just depraved, but Oliver fights like a monster. Every move he makes is aimed to incapacitate his opponent immediately, even if it includes maiming. Oliver's brand of brutality is a lot more effective than ball strikes. He repeatedly slammed a man's head into a concrete wall until it broke, knows how to sever nerves and tendons in an instant, and even skinned a man alive just for practice.

Please tell me something good that happened in those flashbacks.

Oh, no. Please stop. I cringe every time Oliver says that in the intro.

@nickzambuto: Well Frank too has spent years fighting criminals and supervillains of all kinds imaginable. Not sure if that actually counts as a feat.

Shrugging of the cold, bullets and blades are impressive, but nothing compared to fighting without breaking stride after losing your limbs or doing the same after prolonged electric torture from someone like Electro. And that's hardly scratching the surface.

I wont call this an outright stomp but Frank has every advantage to win here handily.

@allstarsuperman: Feats for him knowing better pressure points?. And if we are really counting rarely performed feats, Frank can channel his chi to break a huge block of ice with a simple elbow strike.

I hate when people bring that up like it's a feat. Punisher didn't do anything once Daken started cutting him.

No, you're right to assume that those five years turned him into a pure and nearly unbeatable weapon. I am only saying that within those five years, at least one pleasant event occurred.

@nickzambuto: Yes he did. Or at least he was attempting to, but of course, Daken wasnt going idly stand there and let him attack him. He only stopped trying when Daken cut both his hands off and he was still conscious, before losing his head.

Its not just that instance though. In an old 90s story, he had his toe blown away by a gun and it didnt even slow him down.

@depinhom: @nickzambuto: yeah, Ollie didn't spend 5 years in hell. He spent 3 years in hell and 2 years globe-trotting to China, Star City and Russia. Frank went to Viet-fracking-nam! Talk about Hell!! What Ollie went through was nothing but nothing in comparison. Punisher has taken 50 times the amount of abuse in the comics that Ollie has, maybe more. He's far more experienced, far more brutal, far more efficient, far more disciplined. He will hurt Ollie...bad. He will punish him. No doubt.
