I'll explain. Super Saiyan 3 Goku was no match for Super Buuhaan. He tried to fight him and got pummeled, pretty bad. Same goes for Beerus. He got pummeled in Super Saiyan 3 form AND Super Saiyan God form. I was thinking Super Saiyan God must be slightly tougher then Super Buuhan, who's power level was extreme.
One thing they got wrong in the anime, compared to the manga is. When Vegeta and Goku fused, in their regular state they were still no match for Super Buuhan. That's just how strong he was. They had to instantly go Super Saiyan to compare with him. Super Buu was only a little bit weaker than them.
1. SSj3 Goku at that point is implied to be much stronger than SSJ3 Goku when he fought Buu. He had a much better showing against Beerus than mystic Gohan did.
2.He didn't get pummeled as a Super Saiyan God, Beerus was in control but pummeled is a very out of place term for that fight.
3. Vegito wasn't outmatched by Buu when he first came out in the manga, no where is that implied. he doesn't even fight or even comment he just goes Super Saiyan. The anime didn't get anything wrong they just made the fight longer by adding a couple extra segments.
4. Godly Ki. Godly Ki is the answer to everything. Godly ki is so far above and removed from normal Ki that the Z Fighters couldn't even sense Beerus or SSJ God Goku. It's why even when Goku lost his God Form he was still able to match up with Beerus , he had learned how to manipulate Godly Ki.
5. In the movie Goku says fusion wouldn't even be a viable option for fighting Beerus because it still wouldn't be enough, and that is with everyone being stronger than they were during the Buu Saga. So SSJ God>Super Vegito>Super Buuhan, at the least.
This fight isn't even a question, and as a mismatch should probably be locked. No Z villain even partially compares to Beerus and by extension doesn't even compare to Super Saiyan God. Depending on how you view the Time Line of DBZ the only villains even comparable to Beerus and SSG Goku are GT villains.
