Street Level Tourny - Buy a team (slots filled)

Tournament Guidelines

Another street level tourny, surprised?! Didn't think so. This will be a little different though. You will be buying your team.

• You are given 5 points to spend.
• Every character or group of characters are worth anywhere from 1-5 points.
• You don't have to use all 5 points either. If you spend 3 points on Batman and Moon Knight, but don't really care to add anyone else who is worth 2 points or less, you can make Batman and Moon Knight your entire team.
• There should be enough characters to start enough teams, but I can add more characters or adjust the point system if need be.

I may have been a little inspired by your format. Also, The Shadow was taken by @cjdavis103. You have TMNT (Mirage is fine, but that picture was from IDW's origin where they still all wore red to remind them of Raph who was missing), and Foot Soldiers with 2 points remaining.

I considered both of these. From what I know of Midnighter though, shouldn't he be worth a lot more? I haven't read any of his stuff, but every battle I see him in on this site puts him above pretty much everyone else in this tournament with his precog ability. Fantomex will also need to be worth more.

Isn't Percy Jackson too strong to be in a street level tournament? I haven't read his books, but I'm just going from the general knowledge I have of him.

@tparks: Oh, I see, not nearly enough character choices, also Shadow is nearly impossible to counter with any else here, Im out :/.. Arnt you going to run out of choices before 16 slots are filled?

@tparks: Also if Fantomex be worth more, Shadow should be worth 4 points alone.

@tparks: I'll drop the ninjas and take the No-Cap Friends team(Red Skull and someone else, I forgot).

This is only a 8 person tournament. I don't really want to commit to hosting a long tourny right now. Next time I do one of these buy a teams, it will be longer with more characters and higher power levels worth even more points, but I wanted to do a short trial street level only tourny first to see how it goes.

Dang, Shadow is kind of a beast. I thought most of his powers were taken away. Ya, Fantomex will be worth 2, just like Shadow if he is added. I do think I probably should have initially made Shadow worth more now.

Teams are set. I'll probably make matches tomorrow evening. Until matches are made, you can make changes to your team with the available characters if you want. Make sure you tag me on this thread so I get an alert. Don't PM me with changes, as everyone should be able to see them to keep things fair. I'll probably be pretty busy tomorrow, so just be patient and I'll get back to you.

quick question what gear do green arrow and hawk eye come with? do they have access to all their arrows?

Anyone know any good Ash repeat or feats threads?

@amazingangel: I haven't been able to find one. If he was available when I took my picks, he was going to be one of mine so I could create some scans for him for people to use on this site. I plan on making a respect thread for him at some point, so if I get a chance, I'll post a few scans here to at least get you started and it can be my unofficial start to my thread. It probably won't be for a little while though, I don't have a ton of time to dig up too much stuff.

@tparks: Thanks dude, I know he's got ingenuity, marksmanship and survivability up the wazoo but I still got nothing on speed, strength and fighting ability.

Honestly though he's kind of the distraction while the other carry out a plan.

@amazingangel: Ya, he's nothing compared to your MGS characters. You'd be surprised what Ash is capable of though. Deadites are all superhuman in strength, durability, speed, and they don't die from normally lethal wounds, yet Ash takes on hordes of them at a time. Also, Ash has pretty good reaction time. He's shown that he's a bullet dodger a few times.

@tparks: Don't get me wrong I know Ash is the king but he's also incredibly loud, impulsive and doesn't have the physicals of the Snakes, also he can take a sh!t ton of damage (and not bleeding to death after amputation.)

Bullet dodger? awesome! another reason I picked him and the Snakes are the fact that 'standard equipment' is an arsenal of weapons for them and a boomstick for him.

i have a question this is my first tournament so i don't know how its done, do both teams have information about each other like strengths/weaknesses or is it a blank canvas that they have to fill in as the battle goes on?

@arsenal1886: If you do not know anything about your opponents team, it's a good idea to ask him to post first. That way you can see what his team is capable of, and you can respond accordingly. You should also be sure to post what your team is capable of doing. You don't have to put every single thing your team can do on there, just enough to give a general idea. Just a reminder, matches are set to open up for voting on Monday. A lot of people don't log on here much over the weekend, so it might not be a bad idea to get going on your matches soon if you haven't yet, because you might not get much of a chance to debate if your opponent isn't logged on. I might consider leaving the matches open until Wednesday if there is hardly anything posted by then, but lets use that option only if we have to.

No problem, you did a great job! Next time I make a tournament, I'm putting a link to it right in the OP so any new viners that join will be up to speed. I know I was intimidated to join a tourny when I first joined this site because I had no idea what to do and I didn't want to hold up a tournament from my ignorance, I wish that thread would have been around 2 years ago. I agree, it would be nice to see it pinned.
