Street Level Live Action Tournament 2019

Welcome to the second edition of my Street Level Live Action Tournament! Characters will exclusively be from the MCU, CW, FOX, DCEU, Nolanverse, and Titans-verse. Here’s how it works:

• 8 participants total
• Pick any 2 characters to form your team
• Pick 15 points of perks
• FOX characters are composite
• Feats from tie-in comics are allowed
• Standard Gear
• Victory by KO, death, or incap only.
• Everyone is in character but determined to win
• Characters keep the knowledge they already have
• Character personalities/history are a factor (i.e. Green Arrow and Prometheus will NOT get along if they are on the same team)
• All bow/arrow characters come with a quiver of 20 standard arrows, 2 grappling hook arrows, 1 bola arrow, and 1 flashbang arrow
• All guns are fully loaded but with no extra ammo or clips
• Agents of SHIELD characters have their ICERS replaced with standard handguns (if it is standard for them)
• No time manipulation of any kind will be allowed (i.e. from Eva Sharpe and Rip Hunter)
• With prep, each individual character still needs to lose a majority to MCU Captain America, MCU Black Sky, CW Mirakuru Deathstroke, Titans Deathstroke, and FOX Beast in a 1v1 fight.
• Prep takes place in a combined universe
• If you choose a gear perk for a character that has never used the gear, they will not automatically have mastery over the gear
• No outside help is allowed into the battlefield (i.e. you can't bring in fodder or other characters from prep)
• You must have at least 500 posts or have completed a CaV/Tournament in order to participate
• 3 posts each with a 14 day limit per post. You will be bumped after 7 days. Extensions may be allowed if you tell me and your opponent before the 14 day limit is over.
• Starting distance is 100 feet. Out of view from the other team. Opposite sides of a dark warehouse:

Assume that the height of the warehouse is 100 feet. As pictured, there is a metal bridge spanning the length of the warehouse.

My list of characters is quite extensive. I will not be allowing characters with superhuman physicals, with a few exceptions.

If there are any characters that are not listed here that you would want to represent, tag me and I will see if they should be allowed or not. However, there are some characters that I purposely excluded, like those with superhuman physicals or unfair hax.

If there are any listed or suggested characters you feel are too powerful for this tournament, let me know, I am open to feedback!

@geekryan: Any chance of sneaking in other live action characters? Or is it strictly those universes?

I'm thinking Harry Dresden (live action version), Liv Moore (iZombie), maybe. They both have superhuman abilities but not strong abilities, and massively lack in combat skill. Not sure how familiar you are with either character.

I would only consider accepting other characters if you can provide a RT for them.

lol, I don't think either ever rated powerful enough to bother with a respect thread. I know iZombie streams on Netflix and Dresden Files streams on Roku here in Canada. Live action Dresden isn't close to the book version. Pretty much just a detective who practices a bit of ritual magic, and occasionally a minor energy blast or shield. Liv's redeeming features are zombie damage soak plus learning skills from eating brains.

I was hoping you might be familiar enough that I wouldn't need to make RT's. I'll go with Grant Ward and Deadshot if I can't have Dresden and Liv.

Actually, change that to just Deadshot for the 5 bonus points in the perks.

@geekryan: what would be Eggsy's standard gear? Also can I use feats from the movie's novelizations?

@geekryan: May I ask is it possible if ya could include carbon steel spiked/ or electric brass knuckles under gear perks and if so how much would that be?

I'm not familiar with the novelizations, but as long as they are still within the limits of this tournament, then it should be fine.

The standard gear that I would allow are: suit/shoes, handgun, shock ring, and lighter grenade. No umbrella or briefcase.

I would allow steel-spiked brass knuckles under the category of "Standard melee weapon of your choice" for 3 perk points. But that's just for one brass knuckle.

@geekryan: Does my team know they are fighting opponents weaker than MCU Captain America, not necessarily basic knowledge but just the power tier of said opponents?

All they know is that their opponents are also street-tier

@geekryan: Also, here are just a few concerns with prep anywhere;

1. Can we move to multiple different locations during the amount of prep we have, including the main location?
2. When moving to our chosen location would the a team instantly teleport to said location or would they have to travel there by foot?
3. Does the location have to still exist within the current CBM timeline(for example, Tony Starks Mansion) or can the team access any location at any point in time?

The gear perks can repeat themselves? Like for example two combat knives for each one of the team.

Dresden is a great character. He's the protagonist in a series of novels by Jim Butcher. He's basically a wizard who makes his living as a private investigator. The book version does have a respect thread. Here is his CV page.

He was popular enough that there were over a dozen novels, a TV series (it only lasted a season, unfortunately), comics published under Dynamite, and an RPG that went into development (I don't know where that ended up).

@geekryan: Actually I've changed my mind, I'll pass this one, would you ever consider adding super soldiers and a points system for characters in the future?

1. For the one hour and one day prep anywhere, it is one location only, but you can travel to and from the location and battlefield via teleport/portal. For one week prep anywhere, you can travel between various location by your own means (i.e. on foot) but you will always be able to take a portal to the battlefield.

So for example, if we assume the battlefield is point A and you plan on going to two locations (Points B & C). You will be teleported from A to B and can move between both as you please, but you will need to make your own way to C, in which case you can then travel between A and C as you please. You could not portal from B to C.

3. The characters are all in their most current/present incarnations, but I'll allow the prep anywhere to take place at any point in time. You'll have to make an argument though that your character would and could travel to the location, in whatever time period you choose. For example, Grant Ward wouldn't be able to travel to a SHIELD Base and attain equipment because he is no longer an ally of SHIELD.

Yes, you can get multiple of the same gear.

Have you completed a CaV or tournament before? Your account only has 69 posts and the requirement is a minimum of 500.

I would want to keep it street-level, and adding super soldiers would make that difficult.

I would consider adding a point system though. I just feel as though the way it is now is easiest and simplest, without people arguing about how much characters are worth.

He seems quite interesting!

However, a bit too haxy for a street tournament like this. The focus is more on physicals, gear, stealth, etc., rather than magic and hax.

@geekryan: Aight, one more thing.

So for example, if we assume the battlefield is point A and you plan on going to two locations (Points B & C). So if let's my team teleported from point A to B and wouldn't be allowed to teleport from B to C, would teleporting back to A and then teleporting to C be allowed with prep anywhere?

@geekryan: would you allow episode 4 Mandalorian and Ig-11?

Would Into The Badlands be allowed, as well as Roland Deschain from The Dark Tower.

If my schedule permits, I may be interested. Would characters from CW's The 100 be allowed?

I'm assuming you can bring in anything we have access to within reason during prep? Within reason meaning that it'd be IC and not absurd firepower or vehicles.

And are you allowed to alter the starting position of your character before the fight starts w/prep?

Yes. Essentially, you can teleport from A to B and then C to A, but not B to C. If you wanted to go back to B after having gone to C, you would need to travel there by your own means. So basically, you always have transport to the main battlefield, and you can get a portal to your first location. Any location after that and you need to travel by your own means.

I would allow the Mandalorian, as his feats up until now are street. I wouldn't allow IG-11 though. However, if throughout the series, the Mandalorian gets feats that put him above street, I will have to restrict him.

I haven't watched Into The Badlands, but I do believe they are all street-level, so yes. I'll have to say no to Roland due to the aspect of powers/hax.

As long as they are street and not too hax, yes!

Yes, keeping in mind that with prep, each character should still lose in a 1v1 fight against one of the mentioned superhumans.

And yes, with prep on the battlefield, you can start anywhere on the battlefield.
