@jaycool2: does it have to do with having an IQ over 200?

@jaycool2: meh, I generally choose Shikamaru too. Not only for his high intellect, but his general enjoyment of strategy games. He is always doing it in his spare time. And he became an even better strategist than his father, who was the smartest character in the verse after zetsu.

@sophia89: even though he did beat reed in chess, Batman is easily one of the smartest and most tactical characters that are human.

there are still several characters in the marvel universe who have more tactical thinking than iron man.

and Shikamaru does have an IQ of 200. So yeah.

Considering the game, I say this comes down to Bruce and Shikamaru, and considering how many strategy games the latter plays in his free time, I honestly feel like Shikamaru would win.

Shikamaru. He has more time spent playing these kinds of games. I know Batman and Stark have but they just don't seem to have the same passion for it as him.

As for who is ACTUALLY more Strategical/Tactical I'd say Batman. Stark is a better Engineer and his tech might allow him better prep feats but I don't think he is even close to the battle strategist Bruce is. Shikamaru is closer to Batman I think in Strategy and Tactics but I just like Bruce's feats there better. Mavis on paper should be the Strategically Best here (not tactically, there is a difference) but here entire handling of the current Arc has me doubting it severely.

@noone1996: don't forget that Shikamaru could plan for over 200 situations in his battle against Temari in a matter of minutes. That speaks greatly for his tactical thinking.

@sladerulez: Temari is fodder though... Tony defeated Reed Richards in a chess game on six boards at once. How many possible situations or moves ahead do you think he could have had to think ahead in order to pull that off? Let alone on someone as genius as Richards who is smarter than anyone here.

@noone1996: that doesn't change the fact that he was twelve and came up with 200 strategies when has Iron man done anything like that?

combine that with his 200+ IQ and you got a strategic badass.

@sladerulez: Still not comparable at all to stomping Reed on six boards at once. It wouldn't be hard to think of 200 ways to stomp someone extremely weak with average intelligence like Temari. Shikimaru used to play the equivalent of Japanese chess with Asuma. He stomped him every time. When he went up against his father, he struggled greatly to win. Likely because he's used to strategizing against fodder. If you want to turn this around and ask me "has Tony ever done blah blah blah" I can very well do the same thing to you. Has Shikimaru ever defeated someone much smarter than himself at Shogi one six boards at once? Don't bother answering because I already know he couldn't even defeat his father on one board.

@noone1996: first off, she wasn't fodder when it comes to strategies. She had impressive analysis and general tactical thinking.

He was having trouble against his father, yes, but that was when he was fifteen and he was Literally going against the smartest man alive. When he was Nineteen he could beat the likes of the tsuchikage dozens of times without any effort, and the tsuchikage has well over a century of battle experience.

And when it comes to strategic games, shikamaru plays them all the time with the best, and still wins. His father, the smartest man at the time, was the only person who can beat shikamaru.

@sladerulez: Compared to everyone else here, she's fodder.

So what puts the Tsuchikage above Reed Richards again? Just curious? His "experience"? That literally means nothing. Being old doesn't mean we ignore feats.

No, he only plays with people of average intellect. When he goes up against someone on his level, he gets defeated. Again, I ask, could he replicate the feat that Tony did with 6 boards?
