WHO WINS?
Storm of course. nothing coming from midnighter is as fast as Storm's lightning strike. one lightning strike to block midnighter's attack and another lightning strike to hit midnighter.

Midnighter already saw this fight before it happened...............so you ARE going to be participating in battle threads aimed at Storm?

I love how you had to make a thread because you didn't know how long she can fly, and yet, you believe that you are fit to argue for her winning a fight against someone who already knows what her powers are, and the many ways in which she will use them, and thus, also knows where to wait for her to screw up, so he can snap her neck.
I still say Storm could possibly take this. knowing what can happen and preventing it is two different things. because of doors Midnighter could get the drop on her. I don't know if it's in character for him to teleport immediately though. If more distance were involved i would give storm the majority.

In character: Midnighter.
Out of character/bloodlusted: possibly Midnighter due to doors. Likely loses without.

@Static Shock: I'm sure he has. But this sounds like "who has the fastest attack". I know enough about storm to know she can do multiple lightning attacks almost instantly. but don't know much about "doors".
In character, it's very likely that Storm will lose...she has chances, but Midnighter is rather gruesome.

LOL, this actually remind me of an issue of Uncanny X-Men. Anyway, this could go either way.

I agree they both have chances. I'm not sure who would win the majority

I've always liked the artwork from the issue....:)
I think Storm should have the power output to pull out a win (more likely a bfr i would think), but I dont know if she gets a chance to hit Midnighter with enough blasts/shots/bolts before he lands a ohko or death blow... Has he taken damage before in a fight to equal what Storm could manage in character?
In character it's 100% midnighter. she's too slow to react and he distracts her with his monologue about how he's seen hot to kill her in million ways. He doesn't even need doors. He's just too edgy for her in character.
Out of character i don't know. I suppose storm can be pretty violent with her 100% powers. Then the question is doors. Midnighter has a possibility in beating her with teleporting.
Midnighter wins this.
His speed, and doors make it pretty easy for him. The battle computer is gravy in this case.

Is it in character for Storm to flash fry people she doesn't know? No? Then he blitzes her and the fist or shuriken goes through her head before she can react. That's in character.

Midnighter has the power output to win as well. It's not about who has the most power but does that power overcome the opponent's defenses, and Midnighter is just as able to overcome her defenses as she is able to overcome his. I might even say more so.

Thanks a lot for the scans. White Mage should agree with me now. : )

I think storm can control the intensity of her lightning. I don't think she has killed everyone she has hit with it. or she could use wind, that would be non-lethal
True dat! : )

This comes down to if midnighter can kill/beat storm before she can react. If she can react quick enough she could probably win with a hurricane.
In character?
i think you are forgetting the instances where Storm has actually intended to kill people in character. Calisto for 1, Marrow 2, in astonishing she performed mercy killing on forge's creations, and she also unleashed that localized f5 and broke every bone in that thing's body. As Emma explained, and even with the fight with Emma during extreme if Emma didn't back down she would shatter her.
Storm in character will do a lot of things, even hurt or kill people. The change in her persona was highlight especially at the end of Xtreme x-men.

Storm wouldnt have the same relationship with/feelings for Midnighter as she had in any of your examples.

I think you're forgetting the vast number of instances where Storm has shied away from killing in character. A handful of instances does not erase all the others that outnumber it. She was pretty reluctant about killing a vampire in Curse of the Mutants, as I recall.
@Buckshot: that's not actually true, in the astonishing books where they were fighting forge's creations, Storm's powers were shut off by one of them, and she used a knife to combat him, it wasn't until after she had broken all the bones and interrogated the creatures that they found out forge was involved. She created that f5 localized hurricane because she wanted to, she made sure not to kill him.
Which is my point, Storm can go to very high extreme and not kill people. Without the god awful plot device of possibly destroying a city with innocent people Valkyrie would have lost to Storm. Also it didn't seem like she was holding back.
@CitizenBane: If i remember correctly it was storm who performed a mercy killing on that island, not gambit. So her capacity to kill is very much there given her circumstances, and that's her in character. And what i was referring to not the fact that storm kills but in character storm has not always done the most moral of things. That was as i stated before highlighted in xtreme x-men, also in her leadership of the x-men, she did push the envelop sometimes, but rarely did she actually kill. But when she needed to she did what needed to be done, even if that meant putting the hurt on someone to the point of them nearly dying. That was the point, not that storm kills.
