Starship Troopers vs Xenomorphs

I seriously can't believe that this battle hasn't been don yet!

The movie version of the Starship Troopers face off against the Xenomorphs on LV-426 (setting for the film, Aliens). 250 standard Starship Troopers with the standard equipment from the films must set up defenses around the LV-426 colony installation and defend against the horde of Xenos.

There are 350 Xenomorphs and one Alien Queen with a hive several miles away from the installation. They sense intruders and will come to attack.

Again, film versions for both!

Who will win?

I think the Troopers get mauled.. 350 Xenomorphs are a lot and the Queen is the jolly card

@lord44: I thought it was an excellent idea in sticking with sci-fi tradition where the humans are always outnumbered by the hostile alien species, lol.

Also, the troopers have some pretty badass weapons...

@lord44: Well, the thing is, the troopers in the movie are tactically pretty dumb as you can see when they charge into the arachnid swarm, lol. So, it won't be a stomp.

Troopers. Once they set up defenses 350 Xenomorphs want be enough to overrun them.

Lets see 20 some soldiers can do this to a bigger swarm, 250 is overkill, granted they get overrun but still......

Depend, but I bet on the Xenomorph here.

They will not hurl at the trooper blindly. They are fast and quite Deadly. They have acid blood, which the bugs doesn't have and they can get reinforcement if they manage to grab and infect some trooper.

Eventually, the trooper can wipe the Xenomorph if they bring the nuke, but at best it will be a Phyrric victory.

These aliens arent those mindless drones that charged right up front toward the troopers base in the movie. The troopers are going to get swarmed.

Eh, a lot of the Starship Troopers didn't seem that competent to me. A few did, but it won't be enough to make a difference in this setting. I vote xenomorphs

@drew_tan: Aliens did the same thing though. The Marines had 50 cal mounts controlled remotely and the Aliens just kept coming until they ran out of bullets. It seemed like at least a 100 xenos died.

Those giant bugs were filled with explosive gas or goo, so those rockets might not actually be that powerful. Besides, it would be way too hard to hit a Xenomorph with a rocket. Not to mention the acidic blood splatter everywhere.

Honestly, the Troopers really aren't that good. I remember several scenes in that movie where it takes a long time for multiple Troopers to kill just ONE basic bug. Take that thick bug armor and resistance, and turn it into the smaller, sleeker, faster Xenomorphs and the Troopers are screwed.

Are the troopers any stronger in the sequels, or are we not counting those? I've never watched the sequels because I really couldn't stand watching humans getting owned so badly anymore...

The troopers should win if I remember rightly the bugs armor is superior to that of the xenos, the strongest part of the xenomorph is the head section. but the troopers have good weaponary, plus the fact that the troopers aren't really scared of death. Only thing I see as a problem is the speed and agility of the xenomorphs and acid, but some of the bugs they fought spat fire so it is close.

-The Starship Troopers are capable to kill about a good 20%, but most likely they will get overrun.

The Troopers should win this, based on the stipulations in the OP. Just a small handful of marines and Ripley managed to secure themselves against Xenos for a short time, and Newt was able to survive on her own for a long time.

The marines in Starship Troopers were also a lot more competent at defending then they were attacking. They were able to slaughter the bugs in huge numbers when they set up defenses.

The Queen makes this a really tough match though, if she’s able to poop out a bunch of face huggers to create more of an army.

Troopers lose. Xenos are smarter, and I don't know if normal bullets are going to be enough. Marines in Aliens used Armor Piercing HE rounds. Either way acid blood, inexperienced fodder troops(part of the point in Starship Troopers story) and Xenoa being much smarter makes the difference

@tparks: while yes it was impressive they were only dealing with a small newly created hive

Also mind you Xenomorphs always use stealth above everything else first which they’re masters at, and know when to retreat when they realize that they can’t get pass one way like how they learned to avoid tunnels guarded by automatic sentry guns and tested the marines perimeter for weak spots

Then the queen herself can pretty much withstand any weapons that the troopers use against her

Going Starship Troopers more times than not here.

Relistically Aliens should win. (Can't believe I'm using the term "realistic" on a Si-Fi battle XD) However plot armor usually favors the humans, so I'm sure we can nitpick the movies until a decent argument is made in favor of the Troopers.
