Either of T1 solos. Starrk beat two wizard captains at once and R1 Ulquiorra one shot bankai+ mask Ichigo. Gin could never repeat either of these two feats.

@thoromdil: but sealed vizard lieutenants were doing that to Ichigo in training while trying not to kill him. Though he was weaker, so were they, since they were wearing stealth gigai that drastically lowers their spiritual pressure. And considering the differences between espadas along with Yammy's hierro, it would be solidly impossible for Ichigo to wound Yammy, even with a full cloak if he didn't get an incredibly massive boost. Judging differences in power along with the fact that Yammy's hierro is second to Nnoitra's alone, damaging him like that goes beyond Starrk's capabilities. So the question is not if Gin is stronger than the two, the real question is by how much and if the difference is enough for certain victory.

Gin easily. It is made extremely clear that the traitor shinigami were tiers above all the Espada. Just basic in verse logic here. Anyone saying otherwise didn't read the words on the page. Unohana was confident Ichigo, at half power, was at his full might. He was around the strength of a captain at this half power. We all know Ichigo grows significantly stronger after every fight. He gets more free power ups than Goku and Luffy combined. You can point out numerous points in the series where this happens.

Ichigo then reveals he is incapable of laying a finger on Gin during their short fight where Gin was just playing to see if Ichigo could kill Aizen. While being stronger than the people who gave Starrk, easily the strongest Espada, a hard time. Common sense, guys.

Gin stomps

R1 Ulquiorra will be more of an equal. It shouldn't be that big of a distance between Ichigo that was fighting R1 Ulquiorra and post Ulquiorra fight Ichigo.

R1 Ulquiorra > Gin by feats alone, he’s faster and stronger.
