I can understand characters like Scorpion having enhanced strength but characters like Sonya Blade or Kung Lao? I doubt that
They deal with people like Motaro, Goro and the cyborgs like Cyrax and Sektor. Yeah, they all have meta-strength. Jax is more easily explainable as cybernetic enhancements.
The Great Kung Lao was probably one of the best fighters in MK history and he got pwned by Goro The only two people that have seriously hurt him were Noob Saibot through an ambush
and the current Kung Lao by throwing his hat at him in a surprise attack

That was the movie In the canon storyline he was defeated by Liu Kang and only won because Goro got cocky and underestimated him

Eh but Goro though is a great fighter in his own right though.
Well I have seen Aquaman lift part of a 4 story building before out of water... and he is around class 80 or 90 tons outside of water... I havent seen any major strength feats from Goro to say he could do the same thing...
"Feats" don't always tell you everything about what a character can do. They can very inaccurate at times.

The part in MK about ripping each other limbs off, being knocked into walls and ceilings, and surviving great heights is game mechanics
Did you even watch the opening sequence for Shaolin Monks? It's not game mechanics. They actually pull this shit off. Hell, just look at the Armageddon opening.
