SM Kabuto VS Itachi

Rules:

1. Itachi is Alive, before death
2. Sasuke isn't here
3. Fight is to the death
4. Fight takes place where Edo Itachi and Kabuto Fought

Tough one. If Itachi is at full health it is really close, if still sick Kabuto stomps. Itachi really is a absurdly strong shinobi. I would say he is just behind EOS Naruto, Sasuke and Madara/ Hashirama. The reason is his abilities/ techniques, as well as his genius level intellect. But more then anything he his Sussano combined with the Yata Mirror and sword of Totsuka, is an almost impossible combination to beat. He struggled against SM Kabuto as he was trying to incapacitate him not kill him. If he can kill him or seal i see him using sword to just seal him.

Kabuto. Amaterasu gets countered by Fluid Shedding Technique, he relies on sensing and stops using his eyes and just uses sound genjutsu and traps Itachi again.

Itachi. When he fought Kabato he was not trying to kill him on purpose. If itachi wanted to kill him he had multiple chances to end it. Amaterasu, Susano for the win.

@comicstooge: I personally think Itachi's best chance of winning is the Yata mirror, and Sword of Totsuka. Especially since he will have to blind himself to prevent getting Genjutsu-ed. So while he can counter most of Itachi's techniques I don't see how he can get by the Yata mirrors impenetrable defense. Which will eventually give Itachi a chance to seal Kabuto like he did Orochimaru. Their is a reason Itachi is the only undefeated Shinobi.

Did you see the fight he and Sasuke already had against Kabuto? His sensing abilities are even better than sight and he got passed Itachi's Susanoo with sound genjutsu. The only way Itachi countered was thanks to Sasuke.

Kabuto would never get in close enough the the Totsuka blade to come into play.

Do you have any evidence why using a shadow clone wouldn't be able to do the same thing? Itachi loves clones. And we know clones can cast Genjutsu. So why can't Itachi just use a clone in place of Sasuke to escape the Genjutsu? I think Itachi takes a slight majority if he's healthy, and gets stomped if he's not.

@comicstooge: Itachi was primarily stalling and not fighting as he was trying to use Izanami. And could not afford to kill or Seal Kabuto. The sonics is Kabuto's best way of winning. Also the Blade of Tosuka has a pretty decent range in the Manga, and the cave this fight located in is small enough he should be able to move within range (Also i believe he lost Yata mirror and blade for that fight, Edo did not have it) Yata mirror may be able to defend against the sonics. Also the reason it was so effective was kabuto only had to effect him to reactivate the Edo Tensei. This is not Edo tensei Itachi. So genjustu will be much less effective as he can defend against it now. That Itachi could not break Genjustu or he would have broken the one he cast on himself with Shisui's eye.

Blood Lusted Itachi is too much for SM Kabuto to handle. He was not trying to kill Kabuto in their fight and he still owned him. Itachi spams Susanoo with amaterasu and and totsuka or izanami for gg.

Quite literally. Shadow Clones and Crow Clones are some of his most used attacks. It's extremely in character for him to open with them and use them regularly. But like I said, it's moot if he's not healthy cause he won't be able to keep up the fight

No, Shadow clones haven't been shown to disperse when the user is put under Genjutsu. And the same way he and Sasuke broke out, cancel it with their own Genjutsu.

KOd and Genjutsu are different. Genjutsu doesn't always render you unconscious.

Is Itachi allowed to use Shisuis eye since he did have it before death? If not he gets beat majority of the time. Itachi in his fight with Sasuke couldnt even use his genjutsu right because he kept vomiting blood. The dude could barely see to the point where shuriken hit him. Kabuto wins handily and even more if he uses Edo Tensei.

How the heck could he get Kabuto to stare at Shisui's eyes when Kabuto has his eyes closed? Jeez.

Was Sasuke even relevant in the fight? All I remember is him running around.

@bull909: You dont have to see them for it to work. Itachi used it on Kabuto once already and Kabuto wasnt even on the same place as him. Have you even read Naruto before?

itachi is severely stupid and braindead. his colossal mistakes started a devastating world war and drove sasuke insane

over half of the fights in naruto have been to do some kind of capture or incapacitation. its the nature of their world, and the value of intel. so dont come to me about "oh he only lost because he didnt want to kill". ive never seen people whine about that when superman loses vs people on the same or higher physical level as him. and i didnt see people whine about it when akatsuki was trying to capture naruto or bee.

and more importantly, kabuto was weakened and holding back, probably more so.
