This is a tough one.Ares seems to be the strongest of the two and Skruge actually isn't the best fighter in Asgard.I believe Thor and Balder have him beat.I'm leaning toward Ares.
Great fight KH. I think Ares would win here but it would be tough. Skurge could also BFR him into another dimension so im not sure here.... But in a head on fight i'd give this to Ares.
Looking at the opponents, there is very little to differentiate them physically.
Strength: Ares is listed at 70 tonnes, Skurge at 65 tonnes. Endurance: Ares is virtually tireless as his body does not produce fatigue poisons. Although Ares would appear to have greater endurance, Skurge has far greater endurance than an average Asgardian and he can fight for days without resting. Agility and Reaction Time: Ares would appear to be slightly faster and more agile but both are are above human levels. Durability: Pretty much even, both being able to withstand blows from powerhouses like Thor and Hercules and both can be cut by sharp edged weapons wielded by super strong beings. Fighting Skill: Both are exceptional warriors but Ares probably has a slight edge. Healing Factor: Ares has a quicker one than the Executioner.
The big difference comes in weapon use. If the Executioner is allowed to have his axe it can give him a a big advatange as it can cut warps in space and allows energies through. This could let him win the fight.
Without his magical axe, Ares for the win. With the magical axe, I would back the Executioner (but only just).

who looks more badass in those pics? by the way seems like skurge took on hela army the same way ares took on hades army but hades army was much more powerful imo
Ares wins. I know its ABC logic, but, Baldur beat Scurge and Ares spanked Baldur. Hence Ares wins. Not too mention Ares has the advantage in probably every category necessary to win a fight.
@comic_book_fan: Ares has been stomped by Hulk, Thor, and Hercules before. I personally believe he's further away from the high tier level than Executioner who needed multiple Thor's at once to knock him out or needed Hulk, Namor, and Valkyrie together to end him quickly. Plus he KO'd Thor with a sucker punch once.
