I love me some Norrin vs J'onn battle discussion.

Surfer, MMH can't TP him fast enough before he gets blasted and knocked out of his concentration, then MMH dies due to not having the power to keep up with Norrin.

@thehierarchy: He was able to keep up with mind controlled, morals off Barry Allen who is much faster than Silver Surfer. J'onn is also fast enough to blitz one of the White Martians, aliens fast enough to do things like run around the world and fight against Wally West or even blitz Superman himself when he is expecting them. That is more than enough to easily react to all of Norrin's attacks. Whether he is gonna beat Norrin is debatable, but J'onn's speed feats are as good, if not better than his.

I wanna see some TP resistance feats for Norrin, but I feel like he has them. He also has the power to put MMH down

Here's a Copy/Paste from a post I made some months back.

Surfer broke Goddess's enthrallment and told her to go fork herself the very first time she tried to subvert his will, something Jean Grey, Doctor Strange and Moondragon herself couldn't do. At that point Goddess with the Cosmic Egg was operating at a galactic scale.

Surfer had some other high showings like being unaffected by the Inciters and unfazed by the immense psychic backlash that resulted when he destroyed them.

Also his showing against the Other's projections in Silver Surfer Flashback where he both resisted and bested them.

He was certainly not immune to telepathy but typically it was immensely powerful characters or devices that affected him notably. That said, Post-Annihilation, both Surfer's TP skill and TP resistance has seemingly gotten a substantial boost, with better consistency in general.

For instance, Cosmo (who has effortlessly breached Nova's psi-shields before) was having trouble with just Surfer's surface thoughts. Volx immediately regretted her attempted brain drain, with Surfer nabbing a summary of the plot from her mind instead. Surfer easily read Harrow's mind right through his "Cone of Psilence" (a psi-shield strong enough to hide his presence from Galactus). Also of course, Surfer casually using planetary TP on the fly.

surfer with the various abilities energy projection and higher durability should take this 6.5/10 due to MMH's TP.

@krleavenger: With "not fast enough" I was talking about the speed at which MMH can overcome Norrin's mental defences, which he can't/can't do fast enough.

Surfer wrecks, he has basically every advantage in the fight.

TBH, that wasn't outright mind control. It was subtly influencing the people. Thor and Spider-man broke free from the control when Goddess tried to subvert their wills too.

But some outright terrible showings as well. Like getting totally controlled by Eros and mindcontrolled by random demons posing as Yetis.

Also his showing against the Other's projections in Silver Surfer Flashback where he both resisted and bested them.

That was a small part of Other. Later they killed him straight up even after help from Scrier.

Volkx had no issues TPing him and she has failed to TP nova.

Also some random alien intelligence casually swapped Surfer's mind with some college students.

@thehierarchy: Well, that is a different thing really, which is very debatable. Apologize for misunderstanding.

@krleavenger: No worries, and yeah it is debatable, but based on Norrin's resistence to a mindblast from MG Moondragon that put Xavier into a coma I'd say he can at least resist long enough to stop MMH from using his telepathy.

Surfer beats the mahnutter.

Surfer is massively better, but he is also a rather large jobber. He should win though

"J'onn" is a random alien. His add-them-as-you-need-them powers aren't explained by any exceptionalism - he's just a stock, off-the-shelf Martian.

There's a reason why he can't appear on the big screen, or even on the small one, unless he's defined somehow, like in animated JLA. I can't explain why a character so conceptually confused has survived so long. Plus, the Hulk dresses better.

Assuming that means morals on, then it's a lot closer. I would still back Surfer because other than TP and maybe Speed, MMH is just completely outclassed, even when it comes to hax the character never uses.
