I never said confidence builds his Strength, it gives him a positive mind set. Sentry was not scared by Black Bolt, read the comic. Sentry is often an emotional wreck... there is no guarantee he will be in an positive state right off the bat... and Starbreaker doesnt have to become stronger off of negative emotions... the fact that he was able to handle the JLA during the Silver Age tells us his raw power output is insane... more than likely above Sentry's... and Sentry absorbing Starbreaker's energy wont be a factor simply because Starbreaker is also an Energy Absorber as well... so that power could be nullified...

Electromagnetic Energy... includes Light and Radiation... both of which Sentry can manipulate with Energy... so I think its possible he could absorb Sentry's energy

It takes a lot of positive emotions to hurt Starbreaker, not just a single enemy. (And positive emotions still aren't enough on their own. When the JLA beat him because of all the hope from the city, Starbreaker had expended a lot of energy telekinetically moving the entire planet so he was already losing energy to keep that up.) Also, Sentry's far more likely to be experiencing negative emotions at any given time and that far outweighs the positive (and he's also full of energy Starbreaker can tap regardless of how he's feeling)

Starbreaker does get stronger with negative emotions. He has absorbed stars and has at times possessed more energy in him than that of thousands of stars and was still capable of taking more. The power Sentry has displayed is not enough to overload Starbreaker. As for absorbing his energy, that was done with Starbreaker's own technology (which blends science and magic). That feat could not be reproduced with Dr. Light and Green Lantern trying their hardest. They tried and were overloaded. That was also tried by L.E.G.I.O.N. members and they died in the attempt.
