Bulma is a lot smarter than Senbei, he couldn't even understand the technology in the Dragon Ball Radar which she created easily as a teen. She might be a better match for Sanchez.

@the_hajduk: didn't senbei create Arale? That right there should be enough without full info on each other.

@the_hajduk: No she isn't, lol.

That isn't canon to Dr. Slump, nor is any interaction with Dragon Ball characters as far as I know, so this means nothing. Plus, Senbei was able to make a better time machine than Bulma with far less work, as well as an android that is leagues above any Dragon Ball android created by Gero, who was stated to be smarter than Bulma IIRC.

You're not really going to argue canon of friggin Dr. Slump are you?

@the_hajduk: You sort of have to, as with things like Nekomajin floating around, Toriyama's canon becomes quite questionable.

Can Dr.Slump get schwifty? If yes then he has a chance. If not he gets curbstomped.

Because creators don't care about canon. There's no reason to believe that when Toriyama wrote the DB and Dr. Slump crossover, he was secretly thinking in his head that these versions of the characters were different from the original. Especially in the 80s, nobody thought about canon. Toriyama was just writing Arale and Senbei.

@valor_175: That is a legitimate feat.

Has Slump ever written a catchy song to convince a giant, talking head to leave Earth be (temporarily)?

@the_hajduk: By that logic, any crossover between Toriyama's characters is canon. This includes the Nekomajin storyline wherein Nekomajin Z fights a Super Saiyan Vegeta who is also still working for Frieza for some reason, as well as all of the others with complete breaks on continuity. Putting Arale in the Dragon Ball manga at all was just a nod to the old Dr. Slump fans, and wasn't meant to have any story implications other than being a fun way to connect said old fans. This thread isn't about canon though, so if we could get back on track, that would be appreciated.

@valor_175: Unfortunately we need to establish what does and doesn't count in order to proceed with the actual discussion. The fact is Nekomajin has nothing to do with this. We can tell that is an obvious parody and it has clear inconsistencies with the Dragon Ball story that rule it out from being canon. But the Dr. Slump crossover is completely different, there's nothing contradictory about it. And again, it was written by Toriyama. Toriyama was just writing his characters, not different versions. Even Nekomajin is clearly the same Dragon Ball characters, just in a different story.

@the_hajduk: We do this by disregarding these crossovers altogether, which is the safest way to go. Dr. Slump doesn't fit into the Dragon Ball world due to their respective spaces being drastically different. For example, no one in Penguin Village had heard of the Red Ribbon Army, the Tenkaichi Budokai, the Dragon Balls, or even Capsule Corp. They also reference real world countries (China, The United States, etc), use real-world money (Yen), and have an actual God that contradicts both Kami and the Kai's. I could go on for days, but the plain and simple answer is that Dr. Slump is to different when compared to Dragon Ball for their interactions to make any sense. Like I said last post though, the canonicity of Dr. Slump has nothing to do with this thread so if you wish to discuss it further, PM me.
