Backstory

Hello all,

It's time for a good old fashioned scenario. For tonight's order of business: You will have a short few missions that will take place on Caprica against the opposition of Cylons. If you're unfamiliar with Battlestar Galactica, read up here for information on your enemies.

Basically, if you haven't seen BSG, robots invade an Earth-like planet called Caprica (among others) and you will have a few missions based around helping man-kind not die.

What you need to do

What I need you to do for now is make a 5 person team with characters from any fictional universe.

It would help you greatly if you select characters that compliment each other, have a wide range of skills and most of all; would be good at fighting robots.

Rules

-Characters will have unlimited standard ammo (but still need to reload).

-Characters must use standard gear.

-You may not loot fallen enemies nor trade equipment between team members.

-You may not use characters that have any of the following:

Physical attributes above Spider-Man.

Magic or reality warping.

Energy Manipulation above Cyclops.

Probability altering (good or bad luck).

Precognition above Spider-Man's Spider-Sense.

Illusion Casting.

Healing Factor above Wolverine.

Intangibility.

Flight.

Durability equal to or above Luke Cage/Master Chief (without shields). Basically bullet-resistant at best.

Telepathy or Telekinesis above Classic Cable.

Force Fields.

Pheromones.

Tele-dismemberment.

Size Manipulation.

Mental Manipulation by any means.

An easy solution to combat situations (Omnicompetence, etc).

Rules may be subject to change if there is something I have forgot to list but is otherwise outside the intended parameters. I reserve final say on all teams.

First Mission

Your team will all be teleported from their respective universes into a forest, 10kms out from one of the larger cities on Caprica 1 week after the Cylon invasion. There will be piece of paper pinned to a tree nearby with instructions for the survival of the human race in this universe.

Whether or not your team actually works together will likely be decided by whether or not you have chosen characters that would work well together.

The instructions will direct you toward a building in the city, on the 40th floor of which there is a piece of technology that the Cylons are guarding very closely. An advanced prototype that could change the course of the war!

You will have to make your way into town. All of the roads will be patrolled by convoys of 25 Cylons (in vehicles and on foot). They will have gunships in the air patrolling the skies and if you are spotted, thousands of Cylon Centurions will converge on your position. So stealth in both urban and forest environments will be a must. If any Cylon sees you, it can transmit the information to other Cylons in 1-2 seconds.

Once you are inside the building, the lobby will look something like this:

There will be an elevator on this floor that can take you up.

Your enemies here will be:

50 Cylon Centurions (.50 cal arm-mounted machine guns)

5 T-850 Terminators (Miniguns, Grenade Launchers, Shotguns)

Once you make it up to the 40th floor, the tech will be in a safe, guarded by:

1 T-1000 Terminator

Once he is defeated you can crack/open/take with you the safe, which carries 1 Matter Replicator which will be invaluable to humanity's sustained survival.

There will be a helicopter on the roof, guarded by:

15 Cylon Centurions

Number Six (Mjolnir Armor, Psionic Dampeners, MA5D Assault Rifle)

Second Mission

Now that you have the matter replicator, you have to keep it. Your mission for this one: Survive.

Remember that army of Cylons that could potentially be summoned to your location if you messed around too long? Well, good because that will make this explanation quicker. But also, they put a tracking device on the replicator. Either way, if you completed mission 1, all of your group members will be back in the forest.

When you get back to the forest it will become obvious at some point that the Cylons are tracking you and it'll be time to dig in. As you search around you will find an extremely convenient WW2-style pillbox bunker. It would seem wise to move inside, at least to protect the replicator from gunfire.

One benefit you will have is that this is all of the Cylon forces deployed to this part of Caprica. They can't call in any reinforcements. If you survive, you're in the clear for awhile.

Another benefit is that the pillbox will have basic supplies of food, first aid and 2 shovels.

But here is where it gets interesting. The amount of time you have to prepare your defenses will be determined by factors present in your group members. The time will start from when you had completed mission 1, i.e. when all team members had first returned to the forest. If your first mission was a white-knuckle thrill ride then your team will be in worst condition for this second mission.

Factors

+10 minutes - If you have a person with Wolverine's senses (or equal to).

+15 minutes - If you have a person with Daredevil's senses (or equal to, these don't stack).

+15 minutes - If you have someone with the detective skills necessary to detect the tracking device *and* also have someone with the electronic engineering knowledge to safely remove it without breaking the replicator.

-10 minutes - If you flew the helicopter back to the forest.

-5 minutes - For each one of your team members who has below-Olympic level physical stats or lacks stealth skills.

Third Mission

Yeah, this thread is still kicking, what of it?

So what's on the agenda today you might ask. You've retrieved the artifact, defended it against everything the Cylons could throw at you, what next?

Well, you gotta get it to the human fleet and meet up with the Battlestar Galactica itself, and for that you're going to need a ship.

Time to hitch up your skirts, because you have to head to the next city over and find yourselves a ride.

The city will be 50 miles from your forest bunker location due N/NW. So solid levels of physical fitness and navigation without a map will come in real handy. The spaceport itself has just one functioning shuttle. There will be a severe perimeter guard to overcome, whom will be taking orders from a deadly Cylon-sympathizer. Please assume the ship in the center-left of the screen is the only available ship. Once you get it and take off, new orders will be given :p

Fourth Mission

So you're all aboard the shuttle, as soon as you get out of the atmosphere an autopilot takes over and you can't override it. It takes you on a heading toward a familiar looking space station.

A monotonous female voice chimes in on through the hailing frequency "Welcome to Scorpion Fleet ShipyaarrrddzzxZzffgh-" and the pre-recording message is cut off eerily.

Your shuttle pulls in and lands on a pad outside a gigantic hangar. You walk into a likely looking communications building and investigate. Your team electronics whiz turns on an operations console and quickly finds the hailing frequencies for the Fleet. They figure out how to hail any remaining Battlestars and convey the message that they have in their possession a relic that would ensure humanities sustained survival. You get an instant reply from Galactica-actual. It's an opportunity they can't pass up. They'll be there asap.

The problem? They only have enough fuel to get half-way back to Caprica, so they give you co-ordinates for a rendezvous and insist upon sending them through a secure communications channel.

"Wait, what? Secure channel?" says your comedy relief.

Here's the other problem: The Cylons heard your initial communications burst. They don't know Galactica is on it's way back, but they sure know where the frakk you are.

Your electronics guy finds a hangar nearby on a schematic labeled "experimental ships division".

Your team captain says "Well, looks like we have to fight our way out"

But here's the fun part, you get to decide whats in that big hanagar. In short:

What will your team defend themselves with?

Here are the rules:

-You can have them all travel in one ship or 5 of them seperate in other ships or anything in between. Whatever, man.

-If it can fly through space, you can use it.

-You must have the manpower to operate it. If a ship has a crew of 10,000 then Spider-Man probably can't operate it solo.

-At least one of your ships has to Faster Than Light (FTL) capable and if it's the only one, it better have storage space for the others. You all need to make it to the rendezvous.

-Like all of these things, I will reserve the right to say "no that's imba."

@Dane: Adaptive to the point of being able to hide in surroundings unless in movement. Like, if the fighter would running, it would be pretty evident. And I would assume any abilities that alter time like slowing it would be out of the question as well.

Why doesnt my team cut. Meridith only can withstand and manipulate fire. Taskmaster is well Taskmaster. Dazzler's light manipulation qualifies as well as Iron Fist's chi. If Carnage is too much I will trade him for Tracy Strauss.

@joewell: You can have anyone who fits in the rules. Here's a hint: Cyborg, Batman 1 Million, Iron Lantern aren't in that category. Please read the rules before you make your team.

@nickthedevil: I agree. I've actually wanted to use him in my own teams because his suit is really awesome. The problem is I just can't justify it when you see some of his fights with Aquaman, etc. If there is a version (pre-DCNU, post-DCNU, whatever) that adheres well to the rules, you can use that specific version.

Those characters you added are all stronger than Spider-Man. They aren't equal to him at all.

I have altered the rules regarding telepathy and telekinesis. Please review.
 
Since telepathy won't affect the Cylons, there is no reason why you can't have it. Telekinesis will be available with heavy restrictions.

Apart from the fight with Steve Rogers, IIRC John's been shown to shrug off bullets and bend a tank's gun. (I'm not sure of the last, its somewhat foggy in my mind). I'd agree with the notion of his street-levelness though. While he didn't lose to Rogers, the latter definitely gave him a fight.
