1) Been done.
2) Stop tagging me for Canon debates. I've made it quite clear I'm not interested in them.
3) Avoid tagging me in general for a while, please. I'm on hiatus whilst I focus on other projects.
@breakofdawn: Can you at least say who'd you think would win? I'm aware it's been done before but a lot of new canon material has come out
@qwertyqwer: No, because I know very little about Canon power levels.
R1: Yoda, 8-9/10.
R2: Yoda, 9-10/10.
R3: Yoda 9/10.
While Canon handled Vader very well and made him as powerful as he should be, he is no equal of either Sidious' or Yoda's and would lose a solid majority of fights against them.
Welcome to ComicVine @qwertyqwer, make sure to tag me in all of your Star Wars threads!
Vader is an Obi-Wan/Grievious/Maul range combatant, while Yoda is the finest duelist and most powerful mortal in canon. The old Master annihilates, and with ease. Only one of Sidious' apprentices could hold their own in single combat against the Grandmaster, and that was Count Dooku.
@lord_tenebrous: In Disney canon, Vader actually became stronger than ep3 Anakin as per feats, so he's definitely above Dooku by ep6.

What feats does Yoda have that surpass Vader's in canon? The mountain feat isn't that impressive since the planet was helping him lift it
Vader in canon has survived being on a planet when it exploded, survived being in lava with a force barrier, destroyed an AT-AT with the force, survived a kyber crystal explosion on Malachor, and controlled a Summa Verminoth just to name a few.
Also, on my other post, everyone agrees Vader beats rots Sidious, which is >= Yoda
Darth Vader generally never scales above ROTS Anakin. And ROTS Anakin is two tiers lower than ROTS Palpatine according to Yoda's statement that Anakin and Obi Wan are no match for Palpatine. Yoda wins all rounds.

I don’t remember that happening at all. The only comparable things I can thing of are the Malachor temple explosion and the explosion at the end of Vader Immortal. Neither of them were close to planet level though.
R1: Yoda, he’s the better duelist and has a style advantage
R2: Vader probably wins more often then not due to his durability.
R2: Yoda, better duelist with stylistic advantage and has the raw force power to at least defend himself from tk attacks from Vader long enough to outduel him.
@qwertyqwer: I can see you’re somewhat new here. Jsyk it’s generally frowned upon to debate in your own battle threads.
In Canon: slightly favoring Vader right now, due to his scaling to Sidious who is a Match if not superior to, Yoda.
@jedisympathiz3r: It was on K43 in Star Wars 72
@the_swaggot: Sorry, I didn't know - won't reply anymore unless tagged

In Canon Darth Vader better than the Anakin Skywalker
VADER COMPLETED HIS MEDITATION and opened his eyes. His pale, flame-savaged face stared back at him from out of the reflective black surface of his pressurized meditation chamber. Without the neural connection to his armor, he was conscious of the stumps of his legs, the ruin of his arm, the perpetual pain in his flesh. He welcomed it. Pain fed his hate, and hate fed his strength. Once, as a Jedi, he had meditated to find peace. Now he meditated to sharpen the edges of his anger.
He stared at his reflection a long time. His injuries had deformed his body, left it a ruin, but they’d perfected his spirit, strengthening his connection to the Force. Suffering had birthed insight.
Yoda stomps in sabers; Vader is physically unable to keep up with Yoda's mobility and in all cases would get speedblitzed.
Yoda stomps in Force Usage; significantly more knowledge and recent canon only adds onto that.
Yoda destroys when combining the two.
Yoda meditates as Vader is consecutively hardpressed by IG-102, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Eeth Koth, Ahsoka Tano, Old Maul, Old Ben, Qi'ra, Commander Karbin, and Luke Skywalker. Then the ancient Master blasts Vader into oblivion.
@lord_tenebrous: When did Vader fight Old Maul?
@lord_tenebrous: When did Vader fight Old Maul?
Never -- I was thinking of creator statements, and indirect scaling.
Hmm. Could probably go either way. In a pure lightsaber battle I’d say Yoda high diff. But Vader could win too if you caught him on a good day. More often than not though, Vader probably wins. The series kind of sets him up to be one the strongest in the verse, especially at the time of ROTJ.
depends on the stance being taken. lucas vader could maybe win AND lose. he would lose in sabers, but force battles are a separate thing. yoda seems to be quite wary of vader, and opted not to go against, and considered him and sheev a threat. he quite literally trains luke to fight vader, instead of doing it himself. whether he lied to luke and believed that vader was still anakin all along may change things tho (which is something i kind of personally believe), not to mention the fact that yoda was still a sage back then, and that lucas has gone against some of the things he stated in the past that he now has to abide to due to consistency in his own universe. 80-90s media vader wins, 90s-2010s vader is about the same tier i believe, very 50/50.
disney canon vader is also 50/50. at best he may win outright (i believe him to be more powerful at times), at worst he gets a slight whooping (not due to power, but maybe due to speed and agility problems).
I’m actually undecided on this one now.
Really? Why?
@nassergrant19: I know Vader scales above Yoda in the force, but I just don’t see him winning a duel. And I don’t know if his superior force powers would be enough to close the gap.
